| The Simplicity of Making ARK a Best Selling Critically Acclaimed Title Posted: 13 Feb 2019 12:32 AM PST I don't quite know what it is. 700 hours down the drain and I haven't put it down for good. This game is buggy and broken beyond hell and back, but when it rarely works, it works so well. That is the sad thing, the fact that for some reason there is always something going wrong. This is so apparent, that I don't notice bugs and smoothness issues anymore. I don't notice the awkward physics, sliding, stuttering, disappearing, rag-dolling, poor building, odd riding, terrain scaling or controls.(just to name a few) So i ask the question: Why have the developers not just taken a long time to sit time and make a massive all encompassing comprehensive bug-fix patch? They're so money hungry and so tempted to go for the quick buck, but if they are so infatuated by numbers, why the fuck don't they go about fixing the thousands of bugs to increase sales, increase review scores, increase player count and increase fun? I mean, for gods sake... the bugs and awkward lack of any polish is evident from the literal moment the game boots up to when i eventually stop playing because of a bug that ends my desire to put up with it. Is it lost on them that a visual overhaul, engine polish, building system adjustment, lighting fix and SO MANY more things are the real TLC the game needs? I don't give a fuck about my raptor's ability to attack differently if I can't hit him because of the janky hitbox or my stuttering reload. What will it matter when I tame him when he gets stuck on something invisible and die while being chased? Or if I don't get stuck on something and instead get out alive, ready to make a home for him... except the building is a joke. This game could go down in history uncontested if they would just spend time and polish, update and fix the fundamentals instead of add new problems... so why? Why not do it? That's the best way of building players for the long run to make more money. It's so lost on me... my brain hurts TL:DR- What reason do they have to not bugfix, update and polish their game? when that's their best bet at making money.. also since their current reputation is so shitty that there are hardly any newcomers and all their reviews and word of mouth is terrible. | Which creatures are worthy of bosshood Posted: 13 Feb 2019 12:13 PM PST I posted a while ago about a megalosaurus that I was using as a boss fight in an ark themed dungeons and dragons campaign and since then I was wondering which non-boss creatures from the island might deserve the spot light as well. I was thinking of running rexs more as environmental hazards more than anything else since they're gonna be taming many of them later in the campaign but maybe have the first one show up early and stomp a carno or other smaller carnivore. Other than that what creatures do you think would work as bosses (baring the actual bosses)? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Some items won't stack after update via ConfigOverrideItemMaxQuantity PS4 Posted: 13 Feb 2019 03:28 AM PST Hi all, I run a PS4 unofficial server and we are eagerly implementing stacking for specific items. Most we have tried have worked like organic poly but we have a few which are still not stacking. In the Game.ini we have for example
All exactly the same syntax but only the prime fish is stacking. prime meat and cooked meat seem to not be working. Can anyone advise what we have wrong here? EDIT- placing the stack code at the end of the game.ini file instead of the top has NOT resolved the issue. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Add more small tribe servers console Posted: 13 Feb 2019 07:11 AM PST Can we add more small tribe servers WC? Currently half the official supported servers sit at or below 5 people on any given day at any given time out of 900 servers while every single small tribe server out of 88 total servers always has more than 20 players with most hitting 50-60 during prime time. I see no reason why it would not be possible to repurpose some of these "dead" official servers to small tribe servers. Thanks [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 13 Feb 2019 07:08 AM PST So I took a trip down to pick up some fish meat under the big floating island on the center and what did I see? Like 60+ rafts spammed by some guy. You would think this had ended with cryopods but nah, always someone trying to break the rules. If Wildcard wants to come clear out the rafts that be great, some people are already reporting him as I type this, so hopefully it will be resolved before the end of the event. The location is the obsidian ring under the giant floating island, all along the island shores down in the water on PVE server 352. Tribe of -_-v. [link] [comments]  | ||

| The Alpha Dragon is impossible in singleplayer Posted: 13 Feb 2019 01:31 AM PST 19 Rexes fully imprinted with 60k HP each, 1k melee each and each sporting a saddle with ~120-140 armor and the Dragon never gets below half health. This thing is impossible to defeat. I've tried with world backups a dozen times but I can't beat it. I've moved my dinos to surround, we're not in lava, they're fully healed, everything is as good as it can get and they still all die halfway through. I don't know if there's a legit way to do this in singleplayer...some special cheat code or glitch I need to activate, but I am done with this damn boss. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 13 Feb 2019 05:08 AM PST So a buddy and I started up the Island because we've never beat it. We installed all kinds of great mods including one that lets us have rock drakes on the Island. We built up an army over about a month and prepared only to teleport in to fight the Broodmother and none of our dinos came with. I couldn't shoot my tek rifle or use the jetpack on my tek armor. The only thing that came in was my bulbdog and a trex. We immediately died. Does anybody know why we wouldn't have been able to take certain dinos in? Are most boss fights this glitchy? Seems silly to have an endgame scenario that you work weeks for and have it all thrown away due to something not loading right. [link] [comments]  | ||

I figured it would be an additional 3x, so if your mating is set to 6x, it would be 9x, but nope, if your mating is set to 6x, it'll be now 18x. | This goes out to anyone that develops this game Posted: 12 Feb 2019 06:51 PM PST It's such a great game. It's beautiful. Majestic if you would say! The soundtrack is awesome. The detail of graphics can be great at times. I played on The Island for many many hours & enjoyed it so much. I wanted more! I wanted Extinction. 2 months after owning the expansion Extinction. I've yet to go into a Biome (game crashes within 2~ every time I step into a biome(Tested on 3 xbox one(Not the X))). I finally see some patches roll out for console & I get excited. Only for 1 - Extinction to be doing the same crashing. I just went into the Desert Biome & ran into some no clip mountains. Kill a few things. Boom game dies. Not to mention since the January 31st patch. I've been doing this "Freefall" glitch where I will get stuck on rocks. Platforms. Anything rigged for 10-30 seconds. Free falling & Unable to to anything! I see a patch goes live today. I get pumped ( Since I posted on the bug report Monday about this glitch/bug/whateverthef****itis). Thinking they may have addressed it. I play for about 5~ minutes. Freefall glitch is still in the game. Whatever. I can deal with it ( thinking that extinction got fixed since the Feb 12 "memory optimizations") So I load into that. BOOM new bug / glitch /whateverthef***itis appears. Now my feet are very "sticky" in the game. While running through the Centre city any kind of platform, slanted angle, Anything that isn't straight out flat I lose 100% movement speed. It resets. I stop dead for about a 1/4 of a second & then continue to run. I had to run out of the city because it was annoying. So I ventre out into a biome. BOOM, rip Ark. TLDR- F*** this game. | Posted: 12 Feb 2019 10:14 PM PST Post-Valentines day update, primitive plus has a fun new feature where every time you press B for longer than 0.5 seconds your game will freeze and crash. Whistling is no longer an option so you can only imagine the carnage in the breeding room when 20 rexes pop out. Don't dare disconnect while flying because each time you attempt to whistle it down, you disconnect and are thus submitted into a cycle. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Issues mating some dinos after event update? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 03:23 PM PST We're finding about 50% of our Dino's are refusing to breed at the moment. Is anyone else experiencing this? We have a private server on PC, not sure if that would matter at all. I haven't seen any other posts about this and a tribemate and I are trying to troubleshoot this issue without much success.
