Island character gone but the structures still exist? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:35 AM PST I play single player on Xbox one, and after the update my single player character for the island had disappeared, but all of the structures and Dino's I'd had with that character still exist and I can see the characters unconscious body in the base. Has anyone experienced this recently? I had it happen back in August with Valguero but then after a day or two the character reappeared but it hasn't yet for my island character and it's been about a week. Resource friendly building materials (ps4) Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:04 AM PST So I run a couple servers for friends and friendly people. I also tend to big builds and to breed all the things. I like the larger builds so that if I want to breed large things, or do multiple breeds at once, I have enough room to do so. Which means most of my friends tend to build away from me. We just reset our val map and I've already gotten a couple of complaints about the lag around my base. Most people blame it on the number of dinos I have out, but I did not have that many (less than 50, probably less than 30, and most of them belonged to other people.). However, somebody during my brief official tearaway did tell me that stone as a build tier is THE most difficult to render building material and is largely responsible for the lag around large stone bases. I replaced most of my build with metal (...via creative mode because it's my server) and the lag issues are better. Basically I was wondering if anybody had some hard numbers about which tier (thatch, wood, stone, metal and tek) causes the least amount of lag, and how best to optimize operations so that we don't kill the server. I read the various maps and expansions link together somehow as in if you own them you can travel between them. Is this so? I haven't played in AGES. last time I did the island was the only option so I'm not sure how they're linked. Are all officials linked this way?
