(Small Tribes) How Long Have You Lasted? Posted: 21 Jan 2020 10:35 AM PST Just curious... since I was wiped today. How long did you or your tribe last before being wiped? I played solo and lasted almost 3 months in a hidden location. DM me for the coordinates [link] [comments]
Guide to how far out buildings suppress spawns? Posted: 21 Jan 2020 05:19 AM PST Hi, if anyone knows of a guide or manual to how far out things will stop spawning from my buildings? Im currently making a base on one of Ragnaroks mountaintops but want to know what counts as making your base "bigger" in terms of how far out things stop spawning. IE, a big base with 200 foundations stop spawning stuff in a bigger radius from itself than a 4 foundations base.. but do ceilings count? do hatchframes?.. etc.. [link] [comments]
I have an obvious deathwish so Prim+ Posted: 21 Jan 2020 12:43 PM PST My server is getting shut down for a minute and I've wanted to play Prim for the cool gadgets and decor for a long long time and now's my time. I need tips, any tips you can throw at me are great BUT I'm gonna need to mess with the settings. I want taming times to be easier and food/hunger to go down slowly so what should I turn those to? I'm gonna buy a small slot Nitrado server and I'm not looking forward to settings so why not just hmu with setting ideas in general😠I've never done Prim or Nitrado myself before but I'm looking forward to it and uh yea that's about it, might ask around so say hi if you see my again 😂 [link] [comments]

Is transferring within cluster broken ? Posted: 21 Jan 2020 12:06 PM PST Hey, I host a 6 map cluster. Today it seems that every time someone transfers from Rag to Theisland they loose their character. When reaching TheIsland, we can select a bed and click spawn. Nothing happens for a few seconds and then we are thrown back to the character creating screen with only "create a new survivor " as an option. I can get their characters back by rolling back the server, but we would like to find a solution. Does anyone have any ideas ? [link] [comments]
Is it possible to recover the inventory of a tamed dino that was killed by wild dinos? Posted: 21 Jan 2020 02:01 AM PST I was exploring a cave, and pretty much cleared all wild creatures from it, except from the piranhas. So I took all my items, weapons, armor, and stored it in my Iguanodon to safekeeping. I drowned, but I was cool with it because I stored the items in my dino. Upon returning, the cave was crawling with wild creatures, and my dino was nowhere to be found, pretty sure killed. My question is, when a tamed dino is killed, its inventory is dropped, so I can search for it, or is it gone for good? To be precise, I'm in that southern cave with lots of spiders, centipedes, lizards, snakes and scorpions. [link] [comments]
Yellow cave drops on valguero missing Posted: 21 Jan 2020 11:39 AM PST Anyone notice that the yellow cave drops are missing from valguero after the winter wonderland event was over? [link] [comments]

Have to Re-download the Entire Game? Posted: 21 Jan 2020 10:33 AM PST Last night after I got finished playing ark, I exited the server I was on and exited ARK. I also ended Steam before I shut my computer off. Same as I've been doing for months. Today I get up and steam is telling me I need to redownload the entire game. I can see ARK's folders under steamapps. Anyone know what's going on? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Jan 2020 06:00 AM PST Sorry if this has been asked. I am new to ark and would like to get the skins. I have read online that you can get these somehow. Does anyone know the easiest way? I heard you can download someone's save file to get them all? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Jan 2020 09:30 AM PST Hello guys, I have questions : I have Ark on PC ( steam classic installation ) and i have a nitrado server. I have friends with PC who played Ark with Xbox game pass. So they are on PC, run Ark, but it seems they only could join Xbox server. Do you know if there is any way we could play together ? ( Best if they could join my nitrado server ) [link] [comments]
Mature Times Imprint Settings Spreadsheet Posted: 20 Jan 2020 08:18 PM PST A while back I made this and posted it somewhere on here or one of the other ark subreddits. I know a few people have found it and been using it. Basically it just lets you test Mature time and cuddle interval settings. In a moment of boredom today I went to add Deinonychus to it and found that the wiki had data on mature times down to the second while the spreadsheet originally only had minutes. The data was taken from the wiki page on breeding originally but the individual dino pages had the data to a much higher degree of precision so I updated the sheet. Doesn't seem to have made too big a difference to my settings or any I recommend but I decided to put it out there for others after fixing it up a bit. For those that used it before I found a few errors or significant changes in the data. Two major ones in the form of bad data for Ichthyosaurus and Reaper Kings. Three minor in slight changes to the breeding times for Therizinos, Quetzals, and the maturation groupings. Once hatched there are 21 distinct maturation times. 19 groups of 2 or more, with Carbonemys and Castoroides having unique ones. Alter the values in the green boxes. The white boxes are the default data, and the light blue/cyan ones are the result you should get with the values you put in. I don't know when or if I will update it again but for now it should work. Posted: 20 Jan 2020 09:30 PM PST squid has a problem. maybe it's the targeting system of aquatic dinos or maybe its the hitbox of squids but riding one makes everything in the sea comes to bite you off the saddle this has been true since squid was added to the game, and the bane of squids are still whatever that's small and can get stuck in squid's head/body/bulb. you can't run you can't dismount if is eels you can't do anything to them since you can't hit them yourself squid also has a very bad attack animation that requires you to turn 180 to hit anything. if I see the wild early I can anticipate it but there are a lot more times they come at me while I'm busy with something else and then just lodge themselves in the squid besides bringing out another aquatic with you how do you use a squid effectively? it appears wild water dinos have unlimited stam and will keep attacking you unlike wild land dinos that will pretend to run away after a while the common wild water dinos also attacks everything tamed unlike land dinos. a dilo will not come after your giga but a shark will come after your mosa. sharks no longer go after wild dolphins anymore when in the past dolphins will get attacked by everything in the sea [link] [comments]

Looking back on my solo run on Official PvP Posted: 20 Jan 2020 05:13 PM PST I've decided to share something of an epiphany I had. I like to think I'm pretty good at surviving on official PvP servers. I have a whole series of hidden black-dyed metal bases on a Ragnarok server, with my resources fairly evenly distributed between them, and am always building more. I also have a couple of hidden stashes, and my tames are stashed in nooks and cranny's all over the place. I use 'gamma 3' instead of torches or flashlights, never use campfires or cooking pots in my bases, kill my character before logging off and don't keep carnivores near bases to avoid parasaur scans. I have a small flock of ichthyornis for regular kibble (they're a bit of a pain to tame, but extremely compact by the standards of regular kibble producers, easy to fit a bunch in a 2x2 box), and my favored animals were a high level Argent and a Unicorn I was using for berry collection. Raids don't happen often, and when they do, they don't impact my ability to function. I have resources to spare in my other bases. I'm not really a raider myself (I mostly occupy myself with building, taming and helping people out, and in case you're wondering why I'm not on PvE: I like having a reason to use PvP-oriented engrams and animals as well as defensive strategies), so it's not like the alpha's have any reason to deforest the map to hunt down all my bases. As a result, I consistently gather more resources and equipment than I lose, and if I kept going, I don't think I'd have any trouble eventually taming a quetzal or a griffin, perhaps even raising a wyvern. So that's all well and good. And yet... I genuinely do not enjoy it anymore. Logging in, feeling that familiar sense of dread. And then, seeing that a bed is missing on the map and knowing that one of my bases has been raided, and I've lost the resources in that base plus the herbivore or dung beetle that were stored there... it just feels awful. That Unicorn I mentioned? It was 145 in the wild. 203 after a slightly-botched carrot tame. Taming it should have felt like a massive achievement. I mean hell, by my standards I basically won Ark when I tamed that spiky horse. But losing it, and knowing the only two people who ever actually saw it were me and the guy who killed it for no reason? The negative emotions outweigh the positive. There's the epiphany. On balance, the feelings I get from playing Ark's Official PvP are more negative than positive. It wasn't always like this. Back when I played on The Island in early 2017, I enjoyed myself. The alpha there were nice people who kept the peace, and smaller tribes lasted weeks without being wiped. I have genuine fond memories with this same character from back then, of building up a turreted 3x5 in the forest, working my way up the kibble path from dilo to stego to argent to a level 245 carno called "Integra", struggling with re-fertilizer and titanosaurs exposing my base to the world and of course GODDAMN DUNG BEETLES. I made far more mistakes back then, and yet I survived for far longer, and ultimately my tames and buildings on that server auto-decayed after I lost interest for a while. I was never wiped. Perhaps I've got a threshold for how 'hardcore' I can handle, and the PvP meta has surpassed that threshold? Or perhaps I'm just over Ark. Not sure, but I am sure PvP is no longer a good experience for me. Yeah I could join a tribe, but anything smaller than a megatribe will be wiped out as easily as any one of my hidden 2x1's and playing with a megatribe seems like it would just be a job I don't get paid for. I kind of wish I could get my character out of the Official PvP servers. That a character I spent so much time with is trapped in and can never escape from that toxic hell is kind of depressing. But I'm done. I'll limit myself to playing with family and friends from now on. [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Jan 2020 08:12 PM PST So I am hosting a server and I've messed with all the sliders, and even though I collect a ton of rocks, tons of berries, and get a ton of wood and thatch after messing with sliders.. oil bugs still only give me 1 oil? I am wondering which slider is effecting that, because I want my players to be able to collect a good amount of oil before we get that pump. Thanks ahead of time for letting me know which slider I have to tamper with, y'all! [link] [comments]
I think I done ruined imprinting Posted: 20 Jan 2020 04:13 PM PST So I have a server through Nitrado for my friend and I. I got a little sick of sitting up for hours with babies, with the omnipresent threat of them starving to death, so I fiddled with the settings to make them mature faster. When I first made the change, I simply googled for other people who had done this, and plucked a set of numbers from one of them. And it worked great! Eggs still hatched at normal rate, but the babies matured very quickly. Using those settings, imprinting was also quick: there was no cooldown (like, a few seconds) and each imprint added 20% progress, so I could imprint my little fellas to full. Since then, something-- some server reset-- broke the settings, and I've been unable to get them back. Babies still mature quickly, but imprinting is broken; the cooldown is 2 minutes, and it only gives a tiny amount of progress, so it's impossible to fully imprint. Does someone else have a server (through Nitrado or otherwise) where they have successfully managed to have both speedy childrearing AND quick and easy imprinting? If so, what settings do you use? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
