| How organized are you when you play? Posted: 10 Feb 2020 11:14 AM PST I'm curious about people's play styles for PvE. I've noticed most people have super organized bases, line their dinos up, etc. I've found I'm more of a free range dino rancher. I tend to find a harder obscure area (on rag I'm in the jungle cliffs and on Val I'm building up the forgotten city) that others don't wanna build on, and then populate the area with wandering allos and argies. If I need back up, I fly around and gather my dudes. If I need to keep tabs on em, I wrangle them all into a pen. So my farming style is way more like a ranch than a military outpost or an organized farm. Does anyone else "ranch" style farm their dinos? Or is everyone else like, a Marie Kondo level of organized? Posted: 10 Feb 2020 06:22 AM PST Wild Dinosaurs are moving with very few frames...maybe 10 fps...just like star wars holochess or some old cgi. what is causing this? This was not happening on the same pc few months ago when i last started the game. the fps is good, at 60 stable. just the dinosaurs have this issue [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 10 Feb 2020 06:11 AM PST Me and my friend started playing ark recently, we started in West Zone 2, in the left middle. We are both around level 30 and have some decent tames; triceratops, raptors, parasaurs etc. We are about to adventure out of our little area (we built a little settlement in the bottom left side of the map, we only discovered about 1/9 of the map) But we don't know which way to go, what gear to have or what dinos to take. Does anyone know a link to a good tutorial or just some information they can give upfront? Thanks :D [link] [comments]  | ||
| Assault Rifles are useless, pointless and should be removed from the game. Posted: 09 Feb 2020 07:36 PM PST Honestly, assault rifles are completely inefficient, useless and don't even fill a niche that other guns don't already. Hell even the fabricated pistol does more damage than the assault rifle which pretty much means the rifle has no place in pvp or pve when you can use the more efficient and high damaging longneck rifle. The only way I see assault rifles being worth it is if they give us more different types of ammo that have unique properties like FMJ bullets which deal 6 extra damage against lightly armored/ unarmored npcs and players but deal less damage to heavily armored/ clothed players and npcs. AP rounds deal an extra 6 damage to armored players and dinos while unarmored ones are pretty much unaffected. TL;DR: Remove the assault rifle or rework it. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 09 Feb 2020 08:54 PM PST Myself and a few friends of mine are getting back into Ark on PC. We played for a couple years (off & on) on XBOX. We've been through four small tribes servers now. The experience is relatively the same each time. We tame some decent stuff, build a stone dino pen, get raided. We're not ignorant to how PvP servers work, but it would be nice to get a little longer than a day before we get the reset button. Is this exclusive to the small tribes servers or is this just the PC community period? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Why did my mutation go onto the wrong side? Posted: 09 Feb 2020 11:21 PM PST I am trying to get 20/20 melee mutations on my thierizinos. The male parent had 0/20-3/20, and the female parent had 0/20-0/20. This baby got a melee mutation on the males stat that already had the other 3 melee mutations, but it now shows 1/20-3/20. (instead of the 0/20-4/20 I expected) The same thing has happened before. Could anyone tell me why this happens? How to prevent it? Will it mess up the mutations if I breed it? | Posted: 09 Feb 2020 07:32 PM PST On a 2 man non-dedicated island private server and looking to take down the 3 bosses on at least beta, preferably alpha. Never done bosses before but we're using 2 yuty's and 2 daeodons for each of the bosses plus 16 megatheriums (for brood), 16 rexes (for megapithecus) and 16 therizinos (for dragon). What sort of health stats should i be aiming for on my dinos? I have them all 100% imprinted and ready to go with 90-100 armour MC saddles. Any help appreciated, thanks :) [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 09 Feb 2020 01:52 PM PST I have recently gained a breeding pair of Hyenas and put meat packs on them, I was wondering if preserving salt works in their meat pack saddles to slow down food spoiling even more? As I'm on the Island learning the egram to check required a server transfer and then getting back safely and it's far from my favourite map to do this on so was hoping someone would know the answer before I tried.
