| Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:14 PM PDT I have played Ark primary single player or with small LAN groups for a long time (many years). IMHO the game is significantly better either alone or with small groups of personal friends. Over the course of many years my friends an I have built massive bases, collected countless dinos all across every Ark. In Jan we finally decided to move to dedicated Ark (countless benefits to this). We successfully migrated all maps from our non dedicated and moved them online (after much headache) I then spent countless days configuring Ark server manager to make the game playable with groups of 1-5 (our usual crew). However despite everything Ark server manager is able to change about the game, it is unable to make the bosses or caves beatable with our group in a way we find to be reasonable. Everything else is tuned perfectly and the difficulty is already quite low, but we dont think its fun to need a countless army of high levels to even do some of the harder island caves. We desperately are looking for a way to tune the game further then ASM and ini edits allow, and after endless research it seems mods may be the only way to proceed. Am I correct in this assumption that mods are the only way ill be able to tune the bosses more? Can someone recommend a mod that will allow this? How do I mod with Ark Server manager and what do I need to be aware of? Will the upcoming patch (or any other patches for that matter) break these mods? If so what will happen to all of our maps etc? How can I safely do this without any risk of corruption to all of our arks? Is there any mod that changes the camera for passengers of dinos? The current one is unworkable and makes people sick when on the back of rock drakes etc. Desperately want a 3rd person passenger camera and am willing to mod for this also. Do all the people on my server need these mods also or are they just installed on the server level? Besides these things we dont want to change anything else about the game so mods that target exactly what I want are preferred. | Can I play Ark back and forth between computers? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:47 PM PDT I'm a relatively new player, but I've already seen and heard horror stories of people losing characters in server fails, and I understand that if you transfer a character into a server, you'll wipe any character of yours that was currently living there, so I may be a little paranoid here, but I want to play it safe. Here's my concern: I just bought a gaming laptop for travel. I currently only have one "main" Ark character, and have only played on one (official) server on my home pc. Will there be any problem if I log onto that character with my new laptop? Will Ark freak out for some reason if I log in on a new device? [link] [comments]  | ||
