While it was definitely fun having 8-10 dimorphodons following you and shredding everything apart, landing them one by one gets tiring to the point that i wont bother levelling them until only 1 remains. And because i have a breeding pair, i replenish my fleets relatively quick. But this is with boosted rates because im playing single player.

So for players on official/unofficial with dimorpho swarms., i have a couple of questions:

Do you still level them up individiually, or just rely on the breeding stats and go for quantity?
Is there a group command to at least have everyone land so i can inspect them? Having 8+ flyers with adhd is worse than babysitting children lmao!
Do you level up damage or health? I try to have mine at 2k hp at least before i dump pts to damage. I only bring the horde when im doing caves without diving and the occational alpha rex that they can handle because my rex is parked on the opposite end of my base and i cant be bothered.

I'm about to start going into the water caves. Looking for advice!

So I've got an unheard of amount of hours in this game. Not as much as some people for sure, but over 3k. I've only done water stuff one time, and it was on a server with boosted stats so I actually didn't need any dinos. That was easy because my pike would one shot EVERYTHING.

I play on Official again though because I just like that it's legit. I'm curious, with a tamed 150 megalodon, with at least 30 levels pumped into it (so roughly about level 250) would I be able to take out squids with that?

I hear eels are a big thing to worry about. What is the best method for dealing with eels? Could a 250+ Megalodon kill a pack of eels? Or would they take ME out while mounted?(Would make sense if they did.)

I heard Basi's can take eels out? What's the deal with that?

Guess it's time to start taming water dinos :S :S :S

Can’t place C4

Why does it say too close to an enemy foundation when trying to place a c4 like isn't that the whole point? And when I look for other spots to place the c4 it makes the animation but doesn't actually place the c4. Idk why but this is the third house it happens in and it's annoying

How to navigate the abyss in Valguero safely?

All I have is a good 220+ megalodon and a fighting spirit.

I went down there to get my usual 2nd water tame. The basilosaurus. Immediately got rekd by lvl 140 alpha tuso, electeophorus, 3 plesiosaurs, dunkley, anglers, etc. And no matter where I went I couldnt shake them and I just kept running into more nasties. It was like a mosh pit.

I entered via the entrance near the small herbivore islands btw.

Is it always this crowded? How am I supposed to tame a basilosaurus, let alone look for one with this much crap on my tail?

In most maps you can swim up and the scary stuff breaks aggro. Can you swim far up enough to break aggro with deep sea monsters in the abyss? Or do they come all the way to the top of the cavern?

I just wanna break my way into underwater dominance but this map is impossible lol

RIP I wanna give up

I spent the last week grinding out an official pvp island server and I got all the way up to a full metal base with loads of turrets plant x species and decent tames, was about to get a Rex when one of the alpha tribes just raids everything but didn't even take anything just destroyed and killed now I wanna give up or go to a different map, what do ya recommend?

Genesis: Part 1 PSA. Command to skip the missions.

I learned of this earlier today, enter:

admincheat DebugAllowVRMissionTeleport

Into the console to be able to use either gamma, beta or alpha arrival protocols. This will allow you to skip having to do the missions across Genesis and let you go straight to the boss. Hope this helps!

Thoughts on Genesis: Part 1

I know it's probably hip and cool to hate on Genesis, at least if what I've seen of this subreddit is anything to go by, but I thought I would throw in my worthless two pence anyway.

Of the official story-based maps. (Excluding ones like CI, Val and Rag.) Genesis is, in my view, the weakest for severeal reasons. And yes, before anyone types "Git Gud" or "Its meant to be hard". I am aware. However, there is a difference between challenge, and poor design choices.

For the sake of fairness however, lets get the things I like out of the way: The map is very pretty, the volcanic biome blew me away with how well the team nailed the intimidating volcano looming in the distance, as well as the eruption itself. The new creatures are excellent. The magmasaur is fun to use and extremely useful with its smelting ability, and of course, the blood stalker is a treat to soar around the maps with.

With that aside, lets take the avalanches and landslides you see in the Arctic and Volcanic biome. They are everywhere save a few spots, happen much, much too frequently, and the player has no meaningful way to combat them besides just running away. Dangerous hazards the player can do nothing to circumvent are rarely fun and frankly, really annoying.

Locations to build a base feel very limited. With the inability to construct in mission zones, and the prevalence of world hazards that will flatten buildings (Avalanches, landslides and eruptions) your freedom in where to build like in all other maps is crippled.

Now, with the map itself, I understand the thoughts behind the teleport mechanic with HLN-A, but to me it makes the world feel extremely disjointed. When you also consider that you can get virtually every resource in each biome the necessity to jump between feels limited to missions.

Speaking of missions, lets talk about those: All I can think to say about them is, "meh". They're an interesting gimmick, on similar grounds to the OSD and Element Veins, but to me feel very disjointed. They're enjoyable to do, in some cases, but ultimately feel out of place.

I think one of the biggest complaints with Genesis is the ban of flyers. Aberration had a similar ban, but I felt it made sense there. Aberration had a natural progression in terms of biomes which hinged on your ability to climb walls, utilize ziplines and the glider suit. So excluding flyer made sense in a subterrainian cave system. On Genesis? The only real reason I can think is to force people to use the bloodstalker and to keep them in constant danger on the ground. For me, being able to scout potential base locations, or get a birds eye view of the area I intend to build to get a better perspective is important. Especially in areas as hostile as the volcano.

Of course, *technically* two flyers exist in Genesis, the Tek Skiff and the Astrocetus. However, neither of these are exactly "early game" mounts. The Skiff obviously requires Element, as well as having beating the Master Controller on Gamma. Which isn't something most people will be doing in their first hour or two of gameplay.

Credit where credit is due, that Genesis doesn't follow previous maps in dropping you instantly into a horde of very angry dinosaurs, something which Scorched is most egregious for and Aberration suffers from. (I mean, who thought allowing a Basilisk to spawn at the portal was a good idea?)

That concludes my brain-fart stream of consiousness. Thoughts?

FIX YOUR GAME!

this is the 5th time i have tried to do genesis boss and we have either...

only 1 person get teleported in with all the tames... and the rest of the tribe stays back
random tribemates being teleported to different parts of the map during random transitions between phases ( got teleported into ocean biome first time for the final phase, then got teleported to arctic biome for the 2nd phase and teleported back in for the final phase the second time)
All of us and all of our dinos instantly killed insidethis boss fight within 30 seconds of being teleported in... I DIDNT PAY YOU THIS MONEY FOR UNCOMPLETED CRAP FEST AND PRE ORDER IT MONTHS BEFORE U EVEN HAVE ANYTHING READY. FIX THIS CRAP AND GIVE ME MY TAMES BACK!
