The BEST Place to Farm Metal on Crystal Isles Posted: 19 Oct 2020 10:25 AM PDT

Posted: 19 Oct 2020 08:46 AM PDT So my friends and I frequently start up our own ark server to play through new maps and planned on doing it soon with Crystal Isles. But we've recently come across the issue where we blow through the game super quickly and become too powerful to quickly. Does anyone have have any recommendations for server settings to make the game way more difficult without making it more of a grind? I'm hoping to find a good way to keep that early game feeling of vulnerability around longer as that's the best part! Usually for us it feels like once you make your first gun that feels quickly starts to disappear. [link] [comments]
Ark Official PVP is the definition of missed potential Posted: 19 Oct 2020 11:12 AM PDT It's like no one wants to actually PvP.. you and a buddy join a server and spend an entire 12 hour session getting on your feet. You do your starter beach routine, secure a couple tames and move to a location which seems to be a good spot. You build a base, probably out of wood or stone, a small pen for your dinos, and you start to level up, craft some essential materials and start to feel like you've got a grip on what you want to do next. A couple more tames here and there, shitty starter dinos but good for body guarding or harvesting. A flyer or 2. You start to level them up, build saddles or whatever. A nice base made, some good materials harvested or crafted and your character is a nice level. Accomplished quite a bit for the day. You log off or maybe you don't even get to that point yet, when all of a sudden, you're visited by someone with a fucking wyvern or dragon. You pop a friendly tbag or 3 to show the other player you pose 0 threat and aren't looking for any issues. They hover menacingly above your small-medium starter base for a second or two, before simply pushing attack button and roast you and everything you have. All of your tames, gone, your walls and storage and everything you just spent 10-12 hours working on is gone in 10-12 seconds. They fly off, and arguably push more buttons to type "gg" in chat than they had to push to destroy all your shit. Absolutely nothing you can do about it to combat it. It just BOOM happens and it doesn't even matter if you have 10 tamed flyers at starting level to try and fight it off, they all get thrashed in 2 seconds. There's absolutely zero balance when it comes to this. They are way to OP. My biggest thing with this is, who actually enjoys that? You really enjoy flying around end game mounts and wiping every single building or fresh tribe you can find? What? You really enjoy flying around a server pretty much completely unchallenged, patrolling it all day and making sure no one gets past starter size? How sad and unfulfilling that must be. Does anyone actually build up bases and organize fights with other tribes? Imagine the crazy epic fights you could have.. Does anyone show up to a fight without a wyvern? Do you even look at some of the engrams or blueprints you have and think "oh that'd be a cool defence system" or "oh I want to try that out as a weapon" Nope. Big dragon go skrrrrrrreeeeee. Sick of it lmao. No skill involved, no challenge, no fun. I hope you cry and throw irl tantrums and quit the game when I rebuild and eventually come blow that wyvern off the map. Aberration Time of Day/Night messed up Posted: 19 Oct 2020 06:27 AM PDT Due to one of the recent patches done by Wildcard, Aberration's Day and Night are completely messed up. It will be completely dark on the map yet it says its 11am in the morning. The Surface is literally unplayable, one moment you will think its safe and then next minute you just combust into flames and die, even though its supposed to be night. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or know how to fix it? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Oct 2020 06:13 PM PDT This weekend, I gathered all the tribute and artifacts to do the boss on Rag (Alpha). Everything started smooth; we shredded the dragon in like 2 minutes and started on the manticore. Things were going well for 2 minutes and then the manticore disappeared and gave us the return timer as if we had completed it, however it did not give the message that it had been defeated, did not drop element and did not give any of the first timers the tekgrams (did give the dragon's tekgrams). Has anyone else experienced this? [link] [comments]

I think what I'm most excited for in the Genesis 2 reveal livestream... Posted: 18 Oct 2020 03:17 PM PDT ...is the new release date! I hope it comes out before my birthday in June! [link] [comments]
Would that be consider cheating? Posted: 18 Oct 2020 02:00 PM PDT So I started to play Ark Solo to complete the game my self in an effort to beat all my game in my steam library or well in my backlog of games. So I was checking some videos on what setting to have to make it optimal for solo play. Allot of videos recommended to use a stacking mod. But I feels like it´s a bit cheating because the stacking mods seams to lower how much the stuff weight witch feels a bit like cheating like when you make Dragon bones in skyrim almost weight nothing so you can carry how you want. Also I wonder is there a good mod that make spoiling meat a bit faster but not instant. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Oct 2020 01:55 PM PDT I know for a while the Taxidermies of other maps bosses wouldn't work on the Island (Manticore, etc) but I thought I heard that was fixed? I'm starting my mega base and would love to have the taxidermy of all bosses lined up in my trophy room! Does this still work? Also, do the sub-titan dermises work on the Island? I don't know if they technically count as Extinction bosses or creatures. I'd do it myself but I only have one spare Rockwell dermis and I don't want to lose it by transferring. EDIT: Is there a way to cheat past it? Like spawn in Manticore on island and get the dermis? [link] [comments]
