What are some base designs that you like? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 11:40 AM PST I am getting tired of making small 3x4 bases and want to make a big base but I don't know what to add and where to add them. I play single player with boosted settings. I am the farthest on ragnarok and crystal isles. Ice Wyvern issues! Help please Posted: 16 Jan 2021 12:06 PM PST A couple friends and I have started playing ark on PS4. We have our own server we run off G portal and recently transitioned from the island to Ragnarok. Since then we've begun the quest of collecting Wyvern eggs. There are absolutely no ice wyverns, we go to the spawn areas of the mountain and fly where the nests should be to find nothing. We've tried resetting all spawns, reset the servers and fly over every inch of the death cold mountain to find nothing, no wyverns and obviously no nests. Tek Rex Random Gender Change? Posted: 15 Jan 2021 04:36 PM PST So I got a pair of rexes from someone on a server so I could breed them to do bosses. When he gave them to me there was one male, and one female. They were the only two rexes I had. They needed a little time to raise and I finished raising them both today. But somewhere along the line the male became a female??? And they both became spayed (and I am 100% sure I didn't spay them) I don't have any tribe mates that could have done this and I play pve. Solo playthrough - Transfer questions and map order Posted: 16 Jan 2021 03:41 AM PST Hello, I began the games a few weeks ago, I play mostly alone but my GF come along sometimes for a few hours every 3 days or so, therefore I use some mods and big multipliers for solo play as seen in a guide on reddit. After about 300 hours I'm about to go kill the Overseer on The Island (just killed the Dragon last night, this was epic :D) and I have a few questions for the follow up: My original idea was to do all original maps in order: The Island > Scorched Earth > Aberration > Extinction > Genesis I > Genesis II but some friends told me to do this or this map in between as they are really cool and I'm not really hunting all logs anyway (I'll read them all on wiki after I beat the last boss of a map I think, I like lore but I don't like to hunt collectible everywhere xD) Question is, should I do something like that? Or stick to the 5 original maps? - The Island - The Center (probably skip this one, everyone said it's beautiful but not much more interesting than The Island) - Scorched Earth - Ragnarok (I read a lot of people loving it) - Aberration - Valguero (Same, people say it's great overall) - Extinction - Cristal Isles (Heard it's pretty easy but the last boss / dungeon is very cool) - Genesis I I can't find information on how transfer between maps work in solo play, what can you take, what can't you? I guess you can freely transfert dino and player, but do their inventory follow as well? And where do I need to be? At the Obelisk each time? Our plan was to build a very big base / beautifull Zoo in the Island and come back pretty often to build it from the other maps but I would like to know if it seem possible / not too boring to wait long loading time if I come back to the "Main base" in the Island too often? Also what I loved about the game was to discover and have my ass beat by mostly everything, then learning to master each region or mechanic little by little, to finally becoming the King of speed, gather and fight everywhere (yeah even the Deep Ocean, that was tough but very cool now ^^). So my questions is as follow, when I'll start Scorched Earth (and other maps) should I come along with all my shiny Mythic gear (I have a sweet 500% pump shotgun and crossbow) and Tek Armor, or should I just take my lvl 105 survivor naked and start everything over again? I wonder how the game is tailored as you should be end game gear from previous map to navigate next maps or this gear would make the new maps too easy / not fun? Posted: 16 Jan 2021 06:59 AM PST Yesterday, my friend sent me a screenshot of its giga that literraly beeen reseted to 0/20 mutations on both side. It blew my mind as if you do the math, this is technically just impossible to achieve as the baby will always carry the parents mutations, right!? I have read on this forum someone saying about seeing this on official, talking about a glitch of some kind. Not that i want to reproduce that glitch but i just want to free my mind from this nonsense and understand a little better what happenned to its giga. So, today I beat the Alpha Manticore after dragging my feet for a while �� Posted: 16 Jan 2021 04:17 AM PST The boss fight was very easy - the Rexes had no mutations (30k hp and 500-600 dmg after leveling) and I used the 70 armor saddle bp that I found on SE. Tho, I did not miss having to prepare like I did for the Tek Cave. The Microraptors - they got me killed three times, mainly cause I wanted to (and did 🥰 ) tame them and my mount wasn't on neutral. Wish they would counter wild Microraptors while on your shoulder. The Hyaenodons ruined a couple tames, but I tamed them in return - they sit at 1500 hp and 370 melee base. Never used them on the Island, will probably start with this pack on Extinction. Archaeopteryx are actually useful as sap collectors. Cute 🙂 I did not bother taming any Mantis cause Death Worms are so rare - got 9 horns total in the end. The caves are ok, but there's not enough of them. Also, the super high amount of Arthroplueras is stupid and meaningless - they simply mean that you have to go naked (which is ok anyway while mounted), since there is no actual counter. I liked the dense lore, explorer notes and whatnot (only 7 notes missing). Deep desert drops have the same loot table as deep sea loot crates, but are boring to collect. Maybe it's because I farmed the heck out of them on the Island. Got mostly Mosa saddles and scuba gear. Never even saw a Phoenix, despite heading out during each heatwave, Parasaur and oil jars always on standby. I enjoyed the abundance of Thylacoleos, lvl 135 Thyla tame on day 2 :D If you ever wanted to tame a lvl 300 Achatina, this is your map. If - for some reason - you want to tame normal Megalosaurus', this is your map. Shame that WC had to rush the map, the visuals are great. Fast replacing broken tools/weapons with new ones? Posted: 15 Jan 2021 08:43 PM PST Hi, I'm new to the game and have seen tips and guides mentioning having stacks of spears, clubs, etc.... to replace during fights, but none of them mentioned exactly how you are supposed to do the replacing part. When the weapons breaks, pushing the hotkey will repair it instead, and the only other way I know is to manually open inventory and drag... in the middle of a fight? No quetzals spawning on The Island Posted: 15 Jan 2021 12:38 PM PST There are no quetzals spawning on the Island map, not even one. I've checked this with Ark Save Viewer. After some googling I found this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/playark/comments/afm08p/no_quetzals_spawning_on_theisland/ The solution there was: *** Fixed*** In case anyone this this issue in the future, we fixed it by deleting the server's steamapps folder and then running a steam update to replace the missing files. Everything now works normally! Is this really the way to fix it?
