| [PC] Status update on Genesis 2 release Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:12 AM PDT Update from Dollie: We're currently working on an issue occurring on Steam/Epic platforms. We don't expect it will take long to resolve but I'm hesitant to give an ETA until we smoke test the next build. We'll keep you posted as to when we expect to launch Gen 2 on those platforms. We're also aware that whilst the Playstation network has the update, there are some issues with instability for some players. We're working on resolving that as soon as possible. Thanks for hanging in there. Their level of fuckups is now beyond level 9000. Funny they ruined their own anniversary bigtime. | Getting Extinction Vibes from Gen2 Launch Posted: 03 Jun 2021 03:55 AM PDT I remember when Extinction launched, we played on XBOX at the time. Console launch was pushed from 11-6 to 11-13 because of certification issues. If you're waiting on console, I'd say cautious optimism is in order. | Why are there rarely any new official PVE servers? Posted: 02 Jun 2021 07:40 PM PDT Hey guys, So yeah - I'm one of the boring people. I hate PVP in Ark, it's like fighting an oversized electric eel underwater while having random muscle spasms. It just doesn't work out for me, the game is just too wonky for PVP in my opinion. Now I bought Ark at release, a loooong time ago. Didn't enjoy it that much, uninstalled it, and came back when Ark was free on Epic, for whatever reason. This time though I had one of the or maybe even the best time in a game, ever. I joined an official Ragnarok PVE server, it was completely new, almost always maxed out, maybe like 30 ingame days in. My playtime went from 2 hours in the past years to over 600 hours in just several weeks, I literally got addicted because it was just so much fun. I learned a lot, started helping people, made freebie boxes outside my base for noobs, tamed so many dinos, created a big tribe with a random who became my best ark friend and so on. Later on I got busy in life again, had no time, and a few months later the server pretty much died, I got kicked from the tribe I pretty much owned (my fault for being inactive), and yeah. Just a dead server in the end. I uninstalled it again, just to re-install it around 3 or 4 weeks ago because I miss being around friendly people in a thriving PVE server. But there's literally no active server anymore. It's just a bunch of clusters with 10.000+ day servers with maybe 3 or 4 people active on 30% of the servers, 10-15 people on maybe 5%, and 0 people on all the other servers. There's just no fun to it, no fun in jumping between servers just to sell a dino to a random or trade currencies. Why are PVE servers so "ignored" in Ark? There's only one new server at almost 2000 days, all the other ones are 8000++++, and it's been like this for what feels like forever. I know that too many structures, problems to find a spot for your base, and the lag caused by too many structures are a big problem in PVE, but I guess that's just part of PVE and I didn't really mind at all. I just want a new PVE server, yet it's always just new PVP servers appearing. And yes I did check unofficial servers, they're all dead or just big clusters with too many mods. I just want a simple official ark pve server again. [link] [comments]  | ||

| I am an absolute noob and need help Posted: 03 Jun 2021 05:09 AM PDT Hi All, Answers to any of the below would be super useful as I am new to this game and genuinely think I suck. I play single player on the island and start in the first south option. I have a L18 Trike and a L6 Pteranodon I am thinking of dropping everything in my storage next to my bed. Jumping empty handed (with pick and hatchet) on my Bird and flying about. If i die I can tame one again super easy and wont really lose anything I care about.
