• Gave a new player to my server an Argy egg... he hatched triplets
• Someone asked me how I move so many Dodos to an Area for my Dodo Battles and the answer is simple, I don't. I made a Mobile Dodo Breeder/Hatchery (the picture) that I will bring to an area and have it hatch all the Dodos that I will need.

New to Ark with MANY questions. Posted: 22 Sep 2021 07:00 AM PDT First let me say this game is freaking enormous! I feel like a little boy playing with the Dinos of my youth! That said, I have been playing for about 30 hours now and have questions. I started on the Beginners Server (Lvl capped at 44) and have already used up all my Engram points. Is there a way to reset them or am I pretty much hosed for this Survivor? I am very much a Solo player as I am 50 years old with a wife, a home I have to maintain, job etc so don't really have any time to develop any solid online friendships that would offer me at least a little bit of protection from being "insided" by unhappy tribe members so I am hoping there is a list of Engrams that are must haves for level progression, safety (what little there is anyway), and exploration. I do understand that I can acquire blueprints and store them to build things I don't have engrams for but IMO I need to be survivable enough to get to them 1st. The whole "Official" "non-Official" thing has me scratching my head a bit. I have been playing on official servers but I don't really get what that means. Also in line with the Server types, what is up with Mods? Are we talking Mods like Fallout 4 Mods or something else? WTH is BoB? I have seen posts saying server is BoB safe and have no clue what that even means. Is there some kind of Subscription for Ark? While I am staunchly against Pay to Win games I am not above buying vanity or convenience items especially since I am predominantly a PVE player as opposed to a PVP player. I started another Survivor on a non-beginner PVE map (The Island) and was immediately surrounded by massive buildings and mounts etc all right on the beach where I have read is the place for beginners to start leveling. This made it incredibly difficult to find a decent place to put down something as small as a campfire much less a hut of any kind. Do I just need to keep making new Survivors and server hop until I find one that isn't super crowded? I know I have more questions but for now I figure those are the most important ones I have asked myself in the last 30 hours of play time. If you all have suggestions, tips, or tools that help with this or other things I haven't thought to ask please share! Thank you for taking the time to read and respond! ​ P.S. Survivor Duplicates when transferring maps in SP Posted: 22 Sep 2021 08:31 AM PDT Assuming this has been asked before, but I can't find exactly the info I'm looking for. Whenever I transfer maps in SP, my survivor gets duplicated. I think that two things are happening - when I load into a new map after the transfer, it doesn't remove the survivor from the uploaded survivor list, and it's not actually removing my survivor from the map I transfer out of. Process is that I go to the ob, upload my stuff and then survivor, then just hit escape until I hit title screen. Then load into new map and pick survivor. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
