Please help a mom out … Posted: 06 Jan 2022 09:51 PM PST I hope it is okay to ask this sort of thing. I know absolutely nothing about gaming and want to make sure I am making the right purchase for my son. He is 10 and absolutely loves playing Ark. Right now he plays on a laptop (bang and olufsen - bought at the beginning of the pandemic out of desperation at Target when he just needed something to do after all his activities were canceled… never had any gaming electronics before) but I can tell he gets really frustrated and it's not working well. It's just the two of us and my extended family and friends have never been into gaming so I just have no idea what I'm doing and neither does anyone else we are around. I want to buy something that will work better but don't know what to do. He doesn't play any other games other than Minecraft occasionally (and doesn't seem interested in his friends that do have gaming consoles) so a Xbox or PlayStation doesn't seem like a smart purchase but another laptop also seems like not a great option.
