- I didn’t think me and my spino were getting back out of the trench, today. We had been swarmed by rock drakes and nameless. They had us cornered up on top of this rock. All over a payload of obsidian, black pearls, and a lvl180 Rock Drake egg.

A Theory on Abberations Charge Light, Light Pets and their effect on Reapers and Nameless Posted: 11 Oct 2019 10:19 AM PDT So once upon a time a bored Ark-Enthusiast on his way home asked himself the Question: „What is Abberations Charge Light about? What scientific basis could it have?" And therefore theorized until he came up with the following explanations. I don't expect many people to read this fully but I just wanted to share and put my theories into text. CHARGE LIGHT So what is Charge Light itself? How are its effects on Reapers and Nameless explainable? Why does certain Flora and Fauna use it as a means of creating Light? What can be told about Charge Light is, that it emits a yellow light effect and with the word „Light" in its name it can be assumed that that it is in fact Light, or Electromagnetic Radiation. Therefore the fact that it is yellow and can be seen by humans mean it must Light in the visible Spectrum. Which makes sense, since if it were some kind of highly energetic electromagnetic radiation, we would not be able to see it and in the worst case scenario would damage its users with ionizing effects. But how is it created? My guess is that since it can be filled into charge batteries, replicated or ingested in certain animals on Abberation ( more on that later ), it likely is being emitted as a cause of a exothermic ( reaction that releases energy ) chemical reaction that as a byproduct releases electromagnetic radiation in a very specific frequency within the visible light spectrum. Whenever you use a Charge Lantern for example, the substances in questions within it are brought to react with each other and the Light that is created directed in your chosen direction. Difference between Charge Lanterns that outright stun and force nameless to retreat and other charge sources that just weaken them is probably its Light Density ( higher brightness ) which can be sustained by a mechanized tool like the Charge Lantern, but not by a living organism that cannot store as many chemicals effectively. CHARGE IN ANIMALS AND PLANTS So how comes that Plant Z and 5 different species of Fauna that only exist on Abberation have evolved the ability to to create said Charge Light with them being the Glowbug, Bulbdog, Shinehorn, Glowtail and the Featherlight. With the exception of the Glowbug who is not tameable, all of the aforementioned species absolutely prefer Plant Z Seeds as passive Taming Food. This leads to my theory that all these species, including the Glowbug in some way gain the chemicals necessary to produce Charge Light over the Food Chain or directly consuming the Seeds. This may have started with predecessors of these species eating seeds or parts of the Plant Z Plants who then gained the ability to glow in the dark which gave them the ability to produce light after consumption which may have given them a evolutionary advantage in Abberations Dark Cave System to aid their sight ( Shinehorns ) or used as a way of attracting prey, probably Glowbugs or their Larvae ( Bulbdogs and Glowtails ) or just as a way to attract Mating Partners ( Featherlights, Glowtail and Glowbugs ). And that way many different species from vastly different subcategories and families ( Lizards, Birds, presumably anglerfish that went on land, insects, mammals ) could evolve the same ability by consuming the very same plant as part of their diet. Plant Z by itself must have a origin by itself too though. And the Answer is probably in its name. Its highly likely that with how much Plant X and Plant Y are dependent on Humans to be gathered, grown and then either do not produce seed, seed that is entirely different from its mother plant or seed that just can be used as a weapon but not reproduction, makes Plant Z also a likely candidate to be entirely genetically engineered by Humans. Most likely they were showing up on Abberation together with the Reapers who were also an part of Arks vast Database of genetically engineered creatures that were not intended to be used on a regular Ark until the Overseer got destroyed by Dianas Team and it started malfunctioning. CHARGE AND ITS EFFECT ON REAPERS AND NAMELESS Basing on the Theory of u/PachyRhino95 ( check out his theory if you haven't) which explains the Reapers origin as Manmade biological Weapons used in Warfare before the Arks were created and then released onto Abberation as a consequence of the Arks Malfunction, that the Charges detrimental effects on their Health Regeneration and Armor are likely INTENDED BUILT IN WEAKNESSES BY THE CREATOR. With both Plant Z and Plant Z Fruit being obviously created to be used as Weapons and them reacting to human presence ( as if they are engineered to react to them and give them Fruits ) its likely that Reapers were genetically engineered to be weak to a very specific electromagnetic frequency that would impair their combat prowess so their creators could clean up their own weapons of war if they decided to attack their own troops which is not unlikely given the Reapers extreme aggression. The Nameless weakness to Charge Light can be explained by them being created in Image of Reapers by corrupted Rockwell who mutated Humans and in hopes of giving them traits of the mighty reaper ( their regeneration and armor against all sources of damage ) unintentionally gave them their weakness against Charge Light as well. This is all on my little theory about Abberation's Charge. Of course a couple of questions remain, like what exact chemicals are being used in creating Charge Light? Could any real materials create Light in the same spectrum? How do Plant Z spread if their offspring only create fruit that cannot reproduce themselves? And so on and so forth. Tl;dr Charge Light is created by a chemical reaction that releases a certain electromagnetic wavelength, charge pets have charge because they eat plant z seeds, reapers charge light allergy is in their genes and intended, and nameless are weak against it too because Rockwell is a scrub. Posted: 11 Oct 2019 09:46 AM PDT So, I'm on xbox i heard that as a means to mitigate the crashing and lag, you can do the admin command to remove ground clutter: admincheat sg.groundclutterquality 0 but it didn't do anything. Did they change it? [link] [comments]
Resources not respawning on the island singleplayer Posted: 11 Oct 2019 09:31 AM PDT A long time ago, I mined out all the metal on every mountain, filled up about 3 Indy forges worth, used it to build other portions of my base etc. Again, this was a very long time ago, today I wanted to go on another metal run, get all the metal possible since I have just started a major project. There isn't a single metal node anywhere, none respawned at all whatsoever. I checked every mountain. Is there a fix for this? [link] [comments]
