| The best feeling in Ark is the feeling of truly not caring Posted: 12 Dec 2019 10:54 AM PST Ark is one of those games that can control your life if you let it. The game itself promotes really unhealthy habits, but couple that with the risk of losing everything in an instant, it can drive you downright mad. I'm a 4500 hr player. Mostly solo small tribes official PVP. It's difficult to have a life when you're always worried about being raided/wiped. This isn't a solo vs tribe thing, the stress just shifts. As a solo, you're worried about being wiped, in a tribe, you're worried about being insided or FOB'd for 12 hrs. There is always that cringe moment where you hit L for the tribe log to see the horrible words "your lvl XX purlovia was killed" because someone with an easy mode parasaur scout found it. All of that being said, the most satisfaction I've had with Ark is the nihilist POV. After logging in, I see that my base is gone and all of my purlovia's and reapers were discovered and killed. Total wipe. After a moment of "Well, that is unfortunate", I closed out the game and played another. That was a few weeks ago. I've had a roller coaster of emotions while playing this game, but I will tell you, the ultimate feeling is simply not caring and moving on. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 12 Dec 2019 11:31 AM PST I posted this on another sub but i got nothing but one downvote, I play windows 10 and i see that people are experiencing similar issues now after yesterday's update but actually my problem has been going on since before the update, at first my friend wasn't able to join me and I couldn't join him, it'd just say stuff like lost connection or join failed, then i tried with other friends they couldn't join me, suddenly all my other friends could join my friend that couldn't join me and I couldn't join them, so i tried joining them, and woopdie friccin doo i join them but when we try on my server no one can join still, we're playing on non dedicated servers, any thoughts? Posted: 12 Dec 2019 06:18 AM PST I'm on Valguero right now, with an imported survivor (Level 100), and I SHOULD be able to see Engrams for the Hazard Suit. They aren't there. I don't want to spawn them in, but is it possible to spawn in blueprints so I still have to get the resources for them? I looked it up, and you can, but I don't know if the absence of the Engrams point to some larger bug/spawning them in will trigger more problems. Edit: Is it because I don't have Aberration? | Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:18 PM PST Okay, so I've tamed a M145 and F135 Deinonychus and bred them together to get 1 M156 and 1 F156. I bred the offspring to get M158s with mutations in HP, Stam and Dmg. I've been breeding the M158Dmg with the F156s to hopefully get a M160Dmg; and then will do the same with Stam and HP, and then eventually breed them all together when they're maxed out. Am I doing this correctly or am I losing it?I feel like I might bet PTSD from murdering all these babies if I don't get the mutation that I want soon. EDIT for formatting and update: I want to thank those of you who linked me to MeShell's video, it is a long one (and up to date), but it breaks it down perfectly. Is it possible for me to host my own cluster hosting all the maps, but restricting some for PVP and the others for PVE? With all of them cross-ark-able? | Posted: 11 Dec 2019 05:24 PM PST Is there a mod to display the full scientific name of the dinosaurs in game? Should be an easy fix and I thought there would be some interest to see it, but I can't find anything. I learned so much from Ark and it would be cool to get familiar with all the proper names through the game. I realize the animals in Ark are technically artificial species and have their own specific names in the dossiers, e. g. "Triceratops styrax" instead of "Triceratops horridus", but anything would work better than "Trike". [link] [comments]  | ||
| Does the Megaloceros strat still work on Dragon? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 12:54 PM PST I've seen some recent reports of people saying that the Dragon's AI got tweaked so that if you get under its legs with a Megaloceros and it can't bite you, it circles around to try to get you in range. I went for a quick test in SP, and I was able to get under its legs no problem and it didn't circle around, it just stood there trying to bite and breathe fire but not hitting me. I'd assume that behavior wouldn't change if there were other players around, but I don't really want to lead people into the fight saying it'll be fine, then learning it doesn't work any more.
