Pvp was fun.. but in the end my base got raided and months of farming was all for nothing. I'm interested in returning to the game. Have a lot less time to play though. However no matter what we've tried we can't seem to connect. We've both tried hosting, we've invited each other, we've turned our firewall off... We even opened Hamachi from our Minecraft days just in case, but still no luck! Does anyone have any advice? The problem is we don't know what will happen to our dinos and all the stuff we built on the Island once we go to Scorched Earth on the server. | Grass and vegetation looks awful Posted: 13 Jun 2020 11:26 AM PDT I played ark last year, downloaded it again to play with some friends and was reminded of the reason i stopped playing, vegetation, specially grass flickers a lot, antialiasing is basically non existant for some reason here. Water also looks off. I remember seeing gameplay and it looking so much better. I tried everything at this point, i have resolution maxed out too. [link] [comments]  | ||

Ever since the epic games release of Ark, the servers have been capped not allowing a majority of my tribe to join at any given time. This is also causing constant disconnects with the capped population. Caging doesnt work, wiping doesnt work, they are like cockroaches. Anyone else suffering from the incursion? Anyway, since I know WC won't fix this issue, here's something us players can do to mitigate the inflating sizes:
Yeah, unfortunately the only way around these massive sizes is a fresh install. Every update (and I think mod install) will quickly inflate the size again. Once that size becomes too absurd (for me it's the 200GB range), uninstall and re-install to get it back down.
There is a program that compresses games for you: https://github.com/Freaky/Compactor/. This is a successor to the Compact GUI program, as CGUI is no longer updated. While this is a great program for other games, basically after the compressed game gets updated the compression gets undone. So it's not ideal for games that constantly update, like ARK. Especially since the compression can take a long time. [link] [comments]  |
