    Big Snakes are Scary!

    Yesterday, my two friends and I were playing ARK on a private Island server, and we made a expedition to go find crystal for the first time. I found a map online, so we went to this one newbie area and set up a camp. After a few days looking around, we never found anything, so I found a YouTube video in which the guy gives coordinates, and we were on the last just East, so we decided to take our boat and head over to the proper spot.

    Feeling a bit adventurous, we decided to sail down the river instead of heading to the coast. We ran aground in a swamp and three gigantic snakes and a massive crocodile ate our asses immediately. We kept attempting corpse runs, but we never could make it to our bodies. We only had 30 minutes to get our stuff.

    So, I figured out how to chat to the zone, and using the PS4 touch pad, I typed out a call for help akin to "help n00bs get bodies please!" And when someone responded (clearly with a keyboard) asking exactly what we needed, I replied "big snake eating us."

    I gave the approximate coordinates, and the guy came over riding on a wyvern? I don't know what else to call it. He found our boat but not us. At the exact moment my friend called me on the phone to tell me their power had just gone out! I then saw their handles leave the PSN Party chat. I was alone and respawning at the hut.

    The guy started asking "you still need help?" And I just hauled ass down the beach; I couldn't type a response longer than "yes." I got there in time to see him and his mount, and I went off into the bog with this giant wyvern escort. He was eating snakes left and right! I was able to get to the bags and I just started grabbing all. I didn't have time to check it (I did end up getting everything for all three of us). The boat wasn't moving, and we did have a second boat down river, so I just demolished the stuck one and headed out.

    As we were nearing the second boat, my music completely changed to this epic battle music, and I turned to look. There are normally these things we call -T-Rex, but they're not really T-Rex. Well, a full size T-Rex just busted through the trees, and this guy on the wyvern and the T-Rex just collided into an epic fight between two titans! They exchanged licks for a while, but in the end, the wyvern bested the T-Rex. Holy ballz this was crazy!

    I got back to the hut and was able to type a much more coherent thank you to the guy. It was an exhilarating, fantastic experience; one I hope to NEVER REPEAT! For a while now, we'll stick to the coastline.

    Epilogue: one of my buddies got back online after power came back on, and we did find two crystals and a whole bunch of metal! Very happy.
