Learning Curves Posted: 19 Jan 2021 03:15 PM PST Ark is honestly an amazing game. The potential is truly there for a great exp. Bugs inside the game aside. The main menu is what really needs work, the lack of info is so overwhelming to new players. I truly believe this game would be doing so much better if they overhauled the UI when you first load up the game. There are so many things that don't get explained about servers and how they work. A new layout with short server difference explanations, a tab for cluster servers explaining transfers and limitations and a screen showing which expansions and DLC you have and don't have and what's in them would do wonders for getting a player started. And maybe even selling dlc. Also once choosing a server giving room somewhere to click a server for more information on it from the host. Rates, mods rules ect. I've sunk a ton of hours into this game recently just to finally figure out its for nothing and that I can't transfer to any other map or server with my character and am now trying to find a good cluster server to restart on because you can only travel within a cluster. There is a hundred sites telling you where to go in the world to transfer. Majority of them don't bother mentioning what a cluster is and that it's required. How many players start on a shitty server because it's so overwhelming to pick one with a lack of info. Just to turn the game off and never touch it again because it's annoying to have to restart for one reason or another. I don't mind the game being difficult. That's fun for me. Wildcard Developers are corrupt Posted: 19 Jan 2021 01:43 PM PST so for a bit of context. ive been playing on a cluster on ark for a few month now. this cluster has a Alpha tribe that opresses every small tribe allows no one to get tek and only lets them survive if they pay abbout 50K of materiels mostly flint or rock a week. a rebbelion has formt out of many smaller tribes trying to fight the Alphas. they managed to get control of one server and fight them. the alphas have about 100 times more people and control every other server. but despite using aimbots and cheats havent been able to destroy the rebellion. Today the server of the rebellion was dev viped without a warning. i guess the only reason for that is that the wildcard devs are corrupt what do you guys think about it. ​ Tldr wildcard keeps the cheaters allive but deletes people trying to fight them. submitted by /u/zw1ebelm3tt [link] [comments]

Unofficial Boss Fight Issue [PS4/Nitrado] Posted: 19 Jan 2021 11:37 PM PST My buddies and I host a server cluster, and we use beacon to tweak loot drops among other things. The problem we're having and cannot find any information about is this: The Megapithecus boss just straight up disappears instantly after killing it. This only happens when doing the boss fights on Center and Valguero, NOT the Island; this leads us to believe it's an issue with the multiple bosses. The Megapithecus is the ONLY boss that instantly disappears when we kill it. No corpse. Nothing. Broodmother corpse stays on Center, Dragon and Manticore corpses stay on Valguero. Also: The loot from the Megapithecus DOES NOT go into any dino or player inventory, nor is it in a baggy on the ground. We've tried multiple variations of killing them via dinos, red gun, waiting x amount of minutes and then killing, etc. If anyone has any information about this or a fix, it would be greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/DrawdeWI [link] [comments]

(Xbox) trapped on scorched earth? Posted: 19 Jan 2021 11:31 PM PST Maybe there's a simple answer for this but after an hour of googling i have found nothing. I play ark on xbox with a small group of friends, i use a PC and the microsoft store to host a dedicated server for us. After a very enjoyable time we defeated the overseer. Our characters ascended and then we came back to the island to get a few things to take to scorched earth. Upon reaching the obelisk we found there is no upload character button. Googling told me this is just something that servers set up like ours dont have. They all went to bed frustrated and i stayed up and researched. I found out about the admin command Ascend1. This forces the player to ascend, thus downloading your character again. I did this and was relieved. Booted up the server with a scorched earth map and dropped in. Heres where i am stuck. Apparently there is no ascension from scorched earth, even with admin commands. All the other story maps have commands for ascension and provide a work around for servers like mine. Since scorched earth doesnt ive literally trapped my character here. And my friends are gonna have to make level 1 characters to play SE. I mean we can use admin commands to level them back up but we really wanted to use the same characters start to finish. Anyone know of a work around? Posted: 19 Jan 2021 12:19 PM PST I reached the outcrop of Whitesky Peak where the penguins are while exploring with Fur armor set. I don't have any fliers or enough wood to build a raft, or craft much of anything really with the resources down here. It seems surrounded by icy walls. Xbox Client updates being pushed without notification is unprofessional Posted: 19 Jan 2021 08:58 PM PST Today brought us the second client update in less than a week without notification. Once the console detects the update it dashboards you so whatever you were taming, fighting, farming, kiss it goodbye most likely. Devs know this and still apparently don't care. This really has to screw the pvp crowd that devs actually listen to, because the update doesn't even hit everyone at once, it could take hours for your enemy to get dashboarded while you're sitting there downloading a throttled update and losing all your shit...
