How can i change the camera when riding a snow owl?

I just bought Extinction, and tamed my first snow owl. However when I mount it, I feel like the owl takes up a big chunk of my screen. I want to be able to see my surroundings, but the only thing i know how to do is just scroll up/down, which just changes 1st to 3rd person view. Does this have to do with my screen size? Is there any way to change this? I have not had this issue with other flyers.

I tried to go for artifacts, every single cave is pitch black and gamma doesn't help, tried Torches and Flashlights but they don't have the reach I need to see where to go, any way how to fix this?

So, just started playing this game. Should I play the maps in order, and do you actually beat them somehow? Or do you just go to the next map when you are bored. Don't really know what I'm supposed to be wanting to do in the game since everything is so vague and I haven't read anything about the game because going in games blind is more fun. Am I looking for something specific in game, is there a story? Nothing is really explained.

Last night I accidentally ran into an alpha tribe's base hidden in a cave and was killed by their turret. They wouldn't admit it but they more than likely raided me to see if I was a threat. That doesn't really bother me. This is ark. I have come to expect the highest level of toxicity humanly possible. I had only just started on this server so I didn't have much anyway.

What really irks me is that they found my storage crate I kept as a CARE package with all my dinos in it. (I was actually expecting to get raided because I ran into their turret). My crate was REALLY well hidden. It could not be seen from the air. I did not put it next to a rock because I know storage crates render first. Trust me, you could not find it unless you already knew it was there, got INCREDIBLY lucky or knew that to be a place players store hidden loot. I know it was them too because it was destroyed at approximately the same time as my base.

This has me wondering. Is there a new mechanic that allows players to detect storage crates? I haven't played in a long time because of the toxicity. So that is fairly likely. The other explanation is hacks. I know hacks used to be fairly common but I thought it was more under control now.

TLDR; Got raided, they found my super hidden care package. Can you detect crates somehow?
