Finally found one but she's only level 10. I'm pumping her melee to boost insulation but any tips on how to level her quickly? Cryopod? Take her with me on trips? Lock her in a room with wandering enabled? Also, can they take damage if on my shoulder? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 01 Mar 2021 07:36 AM PST On SP, I just tamed a Lv25 Giga today and not only was it a bug compared to when it was wild, it's actually weaker than my unimprinted Lv200 X-Rex at Lv90! Is that normal? When it was wild, my Giga deals ~220 damage to my imprinted, primitive saddled Rock Drake, and ~77 to my imprinted Reaper per bite. The fact that I had all these mitigations on and the damage was still so high meant it should be around 500-600 or even higher unmitigated. Of course, like all wild Gigas, it had >80k HP. Once tamed, its HP dropped to only 17k, reaching around 18k with level ups. This is only 3k higher than the Rock Drake, who was built for Travel and 5k higher than the X-Rex, which was tamed from wild. Fortunately, my Giga makes up for its lacking combat prowess by also losing its Gnash, having abysmal stamina, low carry weight; and unlike the actual combatants, will turn on me the moment it gets a little hurt like the snowflake it is. I'd read from the wiki that although weaker than wild, a tamed Giga is still a force of nature and its only real competition being the Reaper. When I looked at this Giga with 18k health and ~130 damage, then my Reaper with 32k health and 400 damage per bite, I can't help but post this because I was so confused. Of course, the special tames get the benefit of Imprinting, which the Giga doesn't, but neither did the X-Rex, so that's no excuse, the math didn't add up either. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 28 Feb 2021 04:45 PM PST Our friend is hosting non-dedicated on Series X and we are still getting tethered to him on the Windows 10 version. It seems wildly inconsistent. One minute we're fine being the entire map away from him and the next we're getting a 5 second warning then whipped 500 feet into the air and losing our whole inventories to fall damage. | Posted: 28 Feb 2021 10:10 PM PST I've played ark on and off a few times over the last few years and one of thing I like to try and get into while playing is breeding but it doesn't work or the way I've seen it on YouTube. I've got a pair of argentavis that were 150 Wilds and 224 tamed with 99.9% efficiency. I've been breeding them to make for boss run to see how it would work. I've opened 3 eggs and gotten a 218, 230, and 234 with no mutations on any of them and the stats are the same as the 2 parents in some combination. Am I doing something wrong or is this common? | Posted: 28 Feb 2021 03:35 PM PST So, for some reason I have this weird thing where mangled rag dolls in games really creeps me out. Like, much much more than any phobia does. I have to force quit the game right away and I don't know why. Ark is especially susceptible to this, all of the flying creatures do this when they die as do a lot of the insects. As a result, when I play Ark I have to play solo with a lot of those creatures disabled entirely. It severely limits the experience, but I can't play when the messed up ragdolls is possible. Would it be possible for somebody to make a mod where instead of generating a corpse, killed creatures just immediately vanish and leave their bag or some kind of glow where they died that you can use to get the loot from them. If possible, in a such a way that you can still gather it with another creature (like how carnivores can gather meat from dead creatures). I know this is a lot to ask for a mod but to be honest I don't expect it to ever happen. I'm sure it's not just me who might appreciate something similar though, if it's even technically possible to make [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 28 Feb 2021 03:27 PM PST As the title says, i want to defeat the broodmother with bears, i have around 20 of them and each is around lvl 170, has a minimum of 10k health and does around 400 dmg. i also have a Daeodon to heal. i would like to do it with rexes but i just cant find any high levels, all of them are like lvl 10-40, same case with the Megatherium.
