Me and a buddy of mine are looking to get back into ARK! Not sure if 3 man servers is on official or not. Single player, 0.2 difficulty offset, loot, and bosses Posted: 23 May 2019 08:20 AM PDT I started a single player dedicated server a while back, on the Island, with defaults for most things: the "single player" checkbox on, 0.2 difficulty offset (highest wild I've seen is 36), and so on. I learned pretty early that the difficulty offset might actually make things harder by the end, but I figured all the stat drops on the bosses would make it viable to do bosses with the level 50 bred tames I was working with. Now, as I'm running caves for artifacts, getting deep sea loot crates, and otherwise "gearing up," it's dawning on me that another consequence of the suggested settings is that I'm never going to find a 200% quality item, let alone anything higher. I see three options: Just keep going, hoping that apprentice saddles on level 50 bred rexes is good enough for alpha bosses on SP Set the difficulty to 1.0, killallwilddinos, then restart from scratch on loot collection and the Jurassic eugenics program Crank the loot crate quality multiplier, keep the dinos, and end up with MC saddles on said level 50 bred rexes My goal is for things to be "easy" by official standards (which are just masochistic if you aren't playing with a whole lot of people, if you ask me) but still challenging "for a casual." I don't want to walk out of an alpha boss feeling like I could have done with three unsaddled wild tames, but I don't want to feel like I need the absolute best saddle on 100th-generation, perfectly mutated breeding stock, either. There's surprisingly very little written account of anyone doing boss progression with the suggested SP/small tribe settings. So I ask: Have you done SP boss runs with the default 0.2 and low levels/low loot quality that gives? Was it too hard? Too easy? Would throwing better saddles into the picture (option 3) make things too easy? Not be enough? What's been your "victory" power threshold for contemporary single player bossing in terms of number of tames, stats, and gear? Thanks!! Losing Character when transferring on Nitrado Cluster Posted: 23 May 2019 08:08 AM PDT Any other Nitrado Cluster players having to recreate a new character when transferring servers? It's happened several times on our Cluster when we transfer back to our Rag server from our Ext. we transfer back just fine and we log off but then when we log back on it makes us make a new character which is completely blank no achievement bonuses or anything and our old character is still laying in the base. submitted by /u/bigt375 [link] [comments]
