    Ark devs on fixing wyverns

    So last night I tried loading an un-updated Win10 PC version and it didn't work as it synced with whatever my Xbox had as a save.. At first. After a couple of tries of deleting the local save on the Xbox then loading the game on PC, I finally got a 'Xbox is taking to long to sync, do you want to load old sync data?' on the PC and boom, got my save back.

    Only works on the PC so far and I haven't updated it yet for fear, but does show that it's still available if WC/MS actually wanted to fix it. They seem to be trying to according to this tweet that /u/Nyrin posted.

    I played for several hours on PC then logged out, restarted the game and the good save was still there, so do not start a new character or save on Xbox until we see if they can fix the problem.

    Valguero Single Player Saves and historical issues from Wildcard - Read before updating

    Hey survivors. I wanted to throw this along to everyone who has been losing single player saves on Valguero. I understand your frustrations and feel your pain. When Wildcard "fixed" the map, they likely purged save data to fix the issue. If you noticed on dedicated, you retain level information and player data, but engrams and structures and tames were wiped over and over on reboot. Any historical players can attest to this happening 3 separate times on The Center when it first released. Wildcard has been known to do this in the past. While we all hope this won't be the case, time and time again it comes true. Honestly I was shocked that the map released on the scheduled date.

    So here we are. If you haven't updated yet, keep reading. If you have updated and your save has been wiped, it's extremely likely it's too late. If you haven't updated and you are on Win10, there might be hope to save some data. You'll need to locate the map/save files and back them up to the desktop. I don't know off hand where these are located (I'm on my phone right now, and don't have the game installed) but it's something like %appdata% and you'll need to copy the files, paste them to the desktop, update the game, and restore them to the previous location. This is the only possible fix for Win10 installs. If you update before you backup, they will be wiped.

    If you are running single player on Xbox (or even PS4 I assume), there is likely no hope of saving your data. You can attempt to clone the game to an external device, update, and restore it back, but it probably won't work. This is due to the way the Xbox stores games/saves/files. If you are super technical, you might be able to strip out the save file using an Xbox file explorer or something similar. But this is a huge long shot.

    In short, I'm sorry. I feel you pain. This game never fails to impress me with the lack of finesse and grace with anything it does. If you're new, it's likely not changing. If you're an original survivor, you're used to this. If you are single player, spawn back your tames, use admin commands to change colors, bring back structures, and whatever else is missing. But I'm really sorry to tell you that while we hoped the Center was the last instance of this happening, here we are again, and it likely won't be the last time once again. Just like the official grind, it's time to start over once again...

    Does anyone know of any PVE Ragnarok and Exctinction servers that are open?

    Hey all, I'm looking to build on both of these maps, I know most servers are pillared out so does anyone know of a decent server for both of these maps that are available to build on or at least get a plot of land?

    Valguero - PC Nitrado Dedicated - Underwater drops missing?

    Playing on a friend's dedicated Nitrado Valguero PVP map and noticed that I cannot find any of the ten underwater loot drops recently. Anyone else notice this or heard anything? thanks in advance.
