    Landed a whopper

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 11:03 AM PDT

Time to hire, my team had an open spot! The requisition said "the ideal candidate will move reasonably quickly and be a master berry gatherer" so I decided to start looking for Stegosaurus because why not. As we've had good success in peaceful neighborhood of West Lake Valguero I packed my bags and took the red eye, landed early and began posting flyers.

I passed over a few rookies and eventually found a veteran with a 140 rating on TrainedIn. Normally I like to do these things in-house but as the office was quite a distance away we agreed to have our chat on a the path, in the field as it were. I started communicating my intention to hire and wanted to be sure I was loud enough from the high rock I was standing on so used a long metal barrel megaphone to make my voice heard. Shortly the negotiations began in earnest as it approached my podium to learn more about the offer.

I don't know, I thought things were going well but as we were about to close the offer it decided to be coy and walk away. This is a tactic we've seen before so I followed to see if perhaps a few more percs would be sufficient to give him something to sleep on. The others nearby seemed disinterested and really this all seemed quite routine until the candidate decided to cool off on the narrow beach at that part of the lake.

Sure enough a competitor showed up after only a few seconds. I've been involved before with Megalodon and will only say that I honestly thought my candidate would not be a good fit in that industry. I took an aloof stance and was relieved to see it shortly walk back toward the trees and berries. Persistently I resumed my efforts to finish the deal.

Something it heard however must have been enticing because again it turned toward the water and this time seemed to be aiming for the middle of the lake. Dudes I'm telling you, my heart sank almost as fast as the stego did as it slipped off the shore and began a conversation in earnest with my challenger. Quickly both parties disappeared from view altogether in the deep water. Discouraged, once again I wondered about brewing beer or taking up beekeeping.

And then the candidate resurfaced! It seemed no worse for the experience and in short time we were able to move on to the next phases of the recruiting effort. Finally, I was able to fill out the last part and asked for a name.

    Basliosaurus stats for breeding

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 09:57 PM PDT

I have two baslios, the male had 13k hp and 350 melee upon taming and the female had 22k hp and 273 melee upon taming. Question is the male's melee average or above average? I'm almost certain that the female has godly health I'm just wandering if I should look for a better male or keep him.

Edit: Playing on a official Genesis server and these are X Basliosaurs.

    Ragnarok dino spawning issues

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 11:23 AM PDT

I manage a nitrado Xbox/Win10 cluster and our Ragnarok server has been having trouble spawining certain dinos. It started with ice wyverns, could only get one (and only one) to spawn after a dino wipe and now dino wipes don't get any to spawn. We've only seen 2 the entire time the server has been up. Now the problem seems to have moved on to titanosaurs and, more importantly, gigas. Their spawns slowed down but didn't disappear completely at first so I put this line into our game.ini:

    DinoSpawnWeightMultipliers=(DinoNameTag="Giganotosaurus",OverrideSpawnLimitPercentage=True,SpawnLimitPercentage=100,SpawnWeightMultiplier=1.5)

I tried it as "Gigant" (because that's its nametag according to the wiki) instead of giganotosaurus first to no avail on either. Since all wyverns share the same nametag according to the wiki I tried lowering direwolf and mammoth spawn weights to essentially free up space for ice wyverns to spawn. While we see less mamoths and wolves now we still aren't seeing ice wyverns AT ALL. Dino wipes no longer help gigas or titanosaurs or ice wyverns to spawn and I'm at my whit's end trying to get SOMETHING to work. I've also begun to notice that normal wyverns are beginning to spawn slightly less in the highlands scar and southern den and I'm worried the same thing is going to happen to them. Is Ragnarok just broken or are there settings I can use to fix this?

    [Question] Extinction Bosses

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 06:59 AM PDT

    Hello!

We just started a cluster with Genesis and Extinction only, and want to kill a boss ASAP to get access to Tek Replicators. What is the easiest boss to kill without Managamr or Mek usage?

Was hoping just to breed a ton of Rexes and swarm the forest Titan but it looks like the Forest Titan hits too hard to rush it.

Was also thinking to breed 25 Argys and set them after the DT.

What strategies have you guys used to quickly down your first Extinction boss without access to tames outside the 2 listed maps?

    Appreciate your help!

    Kaprosuchus

Has got to be the most annoying enemy in the game. They wait until you pick up your things before they attack. Then boom dead. Looking right at it and isn't agroed. But the second I pick up my items it's already mid air. Or hiding and waiting for you. Every single time

    Ark Solo Play Goals

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 01:27 PM PDT

I've been on the hunt for a goal list for ark since I only play solo. I was able to find someone who made a list three years ago, and I've been following that. It's made playing a lot more fun since I'm a goal oriented player.

I found that I've been straying a little bit and creating "side missions" as well. With that, I'm keeping tabs on my adventures as I go and keeping track of the Dino's I'm upgrading, ( replacing a pteradatcyl with an Argy, and Trike to Rhino, etc.)

I haven't completed it yet, but it's coming along. If anyone wants to use my list as I go, then I'd be happy to post it. I believe I have about 30 or so hours of play down and I am just starting with metal farming.

I will also post the original goal list from three years ago that I'm following in case anyone wants to go off that. Great guidelines for solo Play.

What do Titans eat in single player?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 04:48 PM PDT

Just messing around with the titans, and realized they were slowly losing food and don't seem to eat anything. Aren't these supposed to be permanent in single player, or is there something I'm missing? (my raid dino feeding box is checked)

    Official or nah?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 11:56 PM PDT

I've been considering (for a couple years) joining a tribe on an official server.

I've mostly played PvE, I generally don't like shooters and am no good at them but I do enjoy quite a bit of ARK (2300 hours). When I get into it, I have a reputation for playing 20 hour days every time a new DLC drops, for weeks on end with pretty minimal sleep. Needless to say I'm fairly dedicated when I'm kept interested.

But nothing really keeps me interested. The groups I play with are too casual, I've done some but not much pvp, and everyone on unofficial servers just seems to get mad about it. PvE can only get me so far, for instance I'm at a point (on my 2nd Genesis playthrough since launch) where I have decent spino and bloodstalker breeders, 235 longneck, a full set of upgraded armor (flak, fur, ghillie, desert cloth, riot, etc), and most things are pretty easy to accomplish as a relatively solo player, aside from the missions on harder difficulties which I feel I just cbf to do at this point since the missions are so repetitive. I could get on and keep taming things, doing missions, etc, but I just don't want to when I sit down to do it. Good unofficial servers are so hard for me to find, I like things relatively grindy, I'm used to mostly building with vanilla stuff (some S+ but not a lot), I can't stand all these 50x tame servers where its pretty much instant and I've recently started playing without stack mods which I've found to be quite a bit of fun even from such a simple change back towards official.

Is it worth playing official? Is it hard joining an existing tribe, since all my friends are casuals? How do tribes typically treat newcomers on official servers (both other tribes and ones you join)?

    [BUG] Pelagornis Polymer Weight

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 02:10 PM PDT

So the balance change to Pelagornis in 307.56 to reduce weight of polymer by 80% does not in fact work I have tested it again after every patch and even using normal polymer WC coded it to be not organic polymer by mistake and no it did not work either.
