| Thinking about coming back - how is this game currently? Posted: 14 Jan 2021 09:20 AM PST I played Ark with friends on PS4 back in 2016. Initially, we really enjoyed the game. It was a unique experience and a lot of fun. However, we all got burned out pretty quickly for a couple of reasons. The first reason is the huge amount of jankiness in this game. Dinosaurs glitching through walls, hits during combat not registering, invisible dinos attacking me, stuff like that. The second reason was that, for pvp servers, you really had to "no-life" this game in order to keep up. We would often log in to find our bases demolished while we were offline. At the time, the game was considered "early access" with promises of optimization and improved quality. However, it became clear (at that time) that the "early access" feel to the game was not something that was going to be addressed any time soon. Since there have been multiple expansions to this game, I'm hoping that the issues I've described above have been resolved in the past 4 years. Thanks [link] [comments]  | ||

| Raising Tamed Dino levels Nitrado (Xbox One) Posted: 14 Jan 2021 10:16 AM PST Hey guys! I just need some help adjusting some settings. A few friends and I rent out a server from Nitrado. We have been playing on official difficulty (Max Lvl 150) and recently decided we wanted to raise the max level to 300. However we have tons of dinos from previous maps we have been on that were tamed on official settings, is there a way to scale the tamed dinos to the new cap so they don't become obsolete? for example; we have reaper kings from aberration that were from a 140 queen. on the new max that would've been a 280 queen, so with the new cap, the kings would've come out higher. is there a way to get their levels adjusted to match the new settings? I hope all that makes sense, thanks for your help in advanced! (we are not wanting to change the player levels at all, just the tamed dinos we already have) [link] [comments]  | ||
| Why is this game so popular but feels to dead? Posted: 13 Jan 2021 05:38 PM PST Okay guys, first of all - I love ark, I have like 700 hours played, not a lot but enough to love it. So I came back yesterday after a big break, and to my surprise there wasn't one server with more than 30 people online. I wanna note that this was at Primetime, not late in the night, and I checked several times. Now there's one factor which comes into play - I only like PvE. I like it simple and relaxed, just building and taming stuff. But it can't be possible that there are like 3 servers with 20-30 people, and around 150-200 more servers with maybe 5-10 players each, and most of them dead and empty. And I'm talking official servers with all maps enabled. How is this possible? Steamcharts show 65.000+ players online, but it feels like 59.000 are on Singleplayer, 900 are on PvP and 100 on pve. There's hundreds of dead pve servers with 20.000+ days, not one nearly full server, it's just sad for me. I love community, I love helping people and giving them dinos to start out with, I just miss that shit. None of that exists for whatever reason. Am I missing something? Why are there tens of thousands of people playing, new trailers still get over 1 million views, yet when I check the serverlist there's around 100 players in total on all PvE servers? | Posted: 14 Jan 2021 05:37 AM PST Hey guys, I need your insight. I have been playing thru the maps solo. I have mostly normal settings. XP is boosted. harvesting boosted and breeding/hatching/raising all boosted. The island was not too bad. Scorched was easy. Aberration was a challenge. And now I am on Extinction. I have only been defeating Gama across the board thus far. And I have beat the 3 lower level titans now its time for the King titan. I did a save game right before I went out there with 54 Gigas 35k health and bit for 1500dmg as well as 14 rexes with 40k health that bit for 1200dmg. All with saddles > 100dmg. I did that twice and lost both times. I don't think we got 1/5 of his health down before they were all flattened. So my thought is either: 1.) It's just not going to happen with one person. 2.) I need to throw 1 quadrillion gigas at him (doesn't seem realistic) 3.) I am missing the big secret. Can anyone help me out here? Can it be done and if so how? Thanks guys! [link] [comments]  | ||
