New Xbox series X/S is a huge PvP advantage Posted: 10 Nov 2020 06:06 PM PST I've got the series X and loaded up Ark. I came from the One X which ran it ok. Loading into the game took less than a minute. Changing servers ingame took few seconds. Respawning after pve death took couple seconds. Inventory access is snappy. FPS is way more steady now and I suspect in performance mode it's hitting 60fps. Visuals look amazing also. I'm actually in shock over how much better this is. The game is playable now. I felt lighter in the game like the server lag and rendering wasn't holding me back. Draw distance looked better. I'm calling it now, a tribe full of guys with a series X/S has the edge over last gen by a mile. [link] [comments]

Why does it seem like it takes twice as many arrows as dododex suggests you need? Posted: 11 Nov 2020 01:09 AM PST I've always wondered how dododex says you need (x) number of a particular thing but then I end up using twice as many as I thought I would use. The only thing I can think of is the fact I'm not headshotting dinos unless dododex says there's a multiplier for headshotting a dino. I've tranq'd allos by shooting them in the head and had them die, as well as argys. Ever since those incidents I've gone for body shots, but I would think that since my bow is at 200% damage I would have to use quite a bit less tranqs. The only time dododex seems to be a bit more accurate is which I switch to shocking tranq darts and regular darts. [link] [comments]
New player just sharing an early experience that made me love this game Posted: 10 Nov 2020 04:12 PM PST I had just tamed my first flyer, and went to go hunting for a couple raptors to tame a pack of my own! I landed to regain some stamina, and was ambushed by what I can only assume was a T-Rex, which quickly annihilated my bird, and soon after me. There was no way for me to get back to my stuff, so I had to get all my tools and stuff back, which in most other games would be tedious, frustrating, and may even lead to me taking a long break. But this game has a way of making me enjoy even the setbacks, and I look forward to getting back to where I was with a new flyer, to hunt raptors again! P.s. any advice for finding raptors on Ragnarok? I have only seen one early on and had to kill it because I hadn't gotten any narcotics yet to knock it out. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Nov 2020 09:41 AM PST Is it just all trolls or do people actually have bases? I just hopped back on and seem to get trolled and my Dino's killed within the time I get off every time. [link] [comments]

Single Player splitscreen map trasfer Posted: 10 Nov 2020 01:01 PM PST Does anyone have a for sure method to transfer maps on single player splitscreen? I've watched videos and read about it, but I have only had 1 successful transfer out a 4 or 5 attempts. I'm thinking it might have to do with rather I have a save file (or not) already on the destination map. I'm too scared to try it again since it's such a pain to admin everything back. I want to play with a friend who does not have Xbox live gold Posted: 10 Nov 2020 10:36 AM PST As the title says, I would like to play Ark with my friend, but he does not have Xbox live gold. If I play on a private game and invite him, does it let him or is Live gold required? [link] [comments]
First creative base I'm proud of! Plus the most fragile bridge the Ark as seen Posted: 09 Nov 2020 10:38 PM PST (I'm on mobile app. I'm sorry for Imgur link) Hello everyone! First time posting to Reddit, or at least I think, so I'm sorry if I break a rule I misunderstood. I hope I added the images. This is my first most serious base attempt. There's nothing inside really, just some foundation and sub-rooms. Nothing noteworthy except for some simple crafting and smelting objects I really hope you guys enjoy it. This is miles of what I can usually do. Most I can do is a box house. But the natural ruin here gave me an edge and inspiration. My only regret? Not matching the color with Adobe instead of stone. The bridge is made of parts that heavily rely on each other to stay up. But I think the railroad-esque appearance looks nice I'm definitely also looking for tips. But I'm a little slow in the building area, so simple explanations. My account on Xbox is the same as my Reddit name, if you want to give tips there instead. I'm more active there, usually.
