    How to find lost flyers

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:24 AM PST

So I play on a non dedicated server and the host fell off an argy and died. I can't track it under the taming list because only a few dinos show up, I can't tell if its alive because I have nothing under my log. And it isn't under any groups. I heard sometimes they fly straight up but then I couldn't get it to follow without falling off my current argy, if I could even get up that high

Unable to harvest megachelons for shell fragments

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:04 AM PST

I tamed a 150 megachelon on an unofficial server but I can't use it do to its saddle being uncraftable. Hitting a megachelon corpse with a hatchet gives no materials.

Is there a workaround for this? Something like a genesis mission that gives shell fragments?

    Bad tribe members

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 08:22 AM PST

theres honestly nothing more frustrating in my opinion then tribe members who are just rude as heck. im currently in a tribe (which THEY asked me to join not the other way round) and all of a sudden after a tribe thats been griefing me for a while around the maps decided to try raid us (both because they figured out i was there and just because they are pretty toxic so yeah it was gonna happen either way) and now all the tribe members are all ignoring me, they took all the tames (all of mine as well as theirs without telling me) off the map onto one of the others and ive been asking them for like 3 days to bring them back over as i have no idea where they are and they just are ignoring me and if they answer me in any way they are just rude. like wow you'd think that it was their first time being raided (which id like to add they never actually raided us they just soaked a few towers and then dipped lol ) definitely thinking of jumping ship thats for sure any way! sorry for my rant people! just figured some people here might relate!

Therizinosaurus' won't leave me alone! Help out a new player?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 12:08 AM PST

Hey everyone! I'd played the game a few years back but stopped after my third or so tame. This time around I've been playing enough with a couple people that we went in to grab a server. We have some settings slightly boosted, pve.

Well today we play on The Center and have created a small base on the beach. A small hut and large wood walls surrounding the area so as to keep all our tames safe.

Well I've ran into a couple issues, first is a agro dino got close to the door when I opened it, and ALL the Dino's (including my friends Dino's) go to attack. I don't want to lose anyone's dino when they're not around, so keeping that from happening or from anything coming into the base is priority 1.

So I get some of the Dino's configured to not move and just hang out in the base, suddenly I notice the beaches are way more dangrous then they once we're. When first only 1 Theri now theres 6 within eyesight and 4 Gachas. It's like the dino spawn rate got crazy accelerated and with the Theri's everywhere I can't leave the base without risk of them getting agro.

Which all leads to what just happened. A Theri started attacking the front door to our wall. I run through the back and loop around to get it's attention, then lead it off by running away. Which it follows for a good 15-30 seconds. Then it stops following...only to run straight back to the door and start basing again. This happened 3 times, when it finally got through it killed all my dinosaurs, even with a couple rapters and dilos nothing stood a chance.

I did a server rollback since no one else was there to do anything about it, but what are my options here? From where I've rolled back I have a couple hours til there's suddenly dangerous Dinos everywhere and a unstoppable threat coming to eat all my and my friends dinosaurs.

What would you advise me to do! Thanks for any help!

Need Help - Strange Taming Ratio on Private Sever.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 09:35 PM PST

Hello r/playark! Me and my friends have been playing a privately owned Ragnarok server over the holidays and while we are having fun, I have noticed a strange phenomenon to our taming numbers/times that I simply cannot find the root cause of. The long and short of it is that our tames are MUCH faster than intended/set to.

An example that I tested today: I found and tranqed a Level 95 Raptor, and started a stopwatch the second it went unconscious. According to Dododex, a level 95 Raptor with 2x Taming Speed and 1x Food Drain should take 15 minutes and consumes 18 regular Raw Meat.

The tame took 5 minutes and 52 seconds, and consumed 7 Raw Meat. Playing with some sliders in Dododex, these numbers would correspond to a 5x Taming Speed as opposed to 2x. Can anyone help me figure out why in the world this could be happening?

    Some notes:

-We do not currently have any holidays active, and since we are an unofficial private server, I don't think they should be effecting us in any way (though we did have some Gacha Claus and Raptor Santa on our first day of the server, I haven't seen them since the first day and the server has no events active)

-The only numerical values I have altered are TamingSpeedMultiplier at 2.0, XP Multiplier at 1.3 (though I feel this has been going up faster than past playthroughs as well), and the Difficulty Offset at 1.0 (was 0.2 at default, but we like higher level dinos). Other than that, no other numerical values like DinoFoodDrainMultiplier have been changed, and are at their default value (usually 1.0).

-We DO have a handful of mods on the server, but as far as we know, nothing that effects Dinos outside of Classic Flyers. The rest are mods for new items or item based fixes.

Any help would be appreciated, and I will answer any questions or curiosities to the best of my ability. Thank you in advance.

Question about what I should/need buy for ARK.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 05:44 PM PST

I see there is the option to buy "ARK: Survival Evolved Explorer's Edition" and this has the base game plus the DLC Extinction, Aberration and Scorched Earth expansions. The deal right now is pretty good at $20 for all these.

But then there's also "ARK: Genesis Season Pass". This is separate and is $28 for it. My question is, is this necessary or wait on it? It says that it comes with ARK: Genesis Part 1 and Part 2, but what is that really?

Also, is it better to get the game on Steam or Epic? Or does it not matter?

    Thank you.
