I would really love to sit down with some of the Wildcard lead producers Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:08 AM PST I would be fascinated to hear their reasons for 12 days raising a giga. Damn even four days for a rex. I have done it all, megas, server wars all the good stuff. Lost everything been wiped, meshed ddossed, meat ran, also wiped and meat ran a lot of bases. How can you look after something for 12 days imprint 33 times (for 100%) and lose it in 30 seconds. After hundreds of hours my final opinion is this whole game should be 10x [link] [comments]

Does difficulty setting affect temperatures in caves Posted: 25 Jan 2019 04:51 AM PST As the title says, do I need to adjust my difficulty to get higher fur gear to survive the snow cave on Ragnarok? On youtube I see people hunting for ascendant fur gear to prepare for the cave. I play on a lower difficulty setting because I don't want to grind so much, but does that mean that I won't be able to survive in the cave because I can't get the higher level gear? Thanks for your help! [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jan 2019 11:49 PM PST Hi there, Just thought I'd share this quicky: I've been breeding, and taking advantage of the awesome new 'enable mating' feature on dinos (basically, the old wandering without the wandering part when it comes to just the mating side of things). Something I've discovered through two accidents, paying more careful attention the second time - dinos that are born and reach adulthood seem to have 'enable mating' on by default, even though it won't appear as such (on the behavior wheel it'll have 'enable mating' - but if you select it and go back in there, it'll still be 'enable mating', as though you just turned mating off - select it again, then you get disable mating, and again and enable mating, and so on as normal). Discovered this when a couple of my offspring that had just reached adulthood ended up being the ones getting pregnant, despite me not actively putting them on mating. So just use caution when breeding if you have offspring around that are about to reach adulthood. Safest option seems to be to hit enable mating when they're first born and imprinted, as this will actually disable it (though to be super safe, do it three times - the last time will actually say disable mating, which makes me personally feel better). Hope this helps prevent wasted breedings! [link] [comments]
Looking for some advice after a failed gamma overseer attempt Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:00 AM PST I am a solo player. Went into the gamma tek cave last night with 2 mate boosted Rex's (25k hp 828 melee and 25k hp 820 melee) 1 Yuti (30k hp 3.5k Stam) and 12 theris (21k hp 600 melee). Everything was wearing 100+ armour asc saddles. Tek Cave was a breeze - I got on the better of the 2 Rexs with the yuti and other Rex on follow and carefully walked my way down through the cave clearing everything in my path without issue. The theris were left at the start of the cave. I would jump on the yuti and give the roar buff before engaging with the groups of enemies and whistle the other Rex on neutral when it was safe to do so in areas where the wasn't any lava for it to run into. The vast majority of the cave was cleared by the rex i was riding solo and the other one was mainly just there for the mate boost. When I reached the end of the cave I was shocked to find a Giga waiting for me (I'm sure I had read somewhere it only spawns in the beta and alpha versions of the cave) but it was easy enough to shoot it with my shotgun and run around the bend to the left making it drop down into the lava. When I reached the end of the cave I left the two Rexs there and ran back to the start on the yuti to collect the theris. No issues getting them through and after healing the rex id been using which had gone down to about 14k hp after clearing the whole cave everything got to the teleporter pad with full health. The overseer fight started well. I was riding the yuti and controlling the rest with whistles. Got through dragon ape and brood forms without issue but I could see that a few were getting bloody after the dragon. I wasn't worrying though as I had killed all 3 now and just had to take out the overseer now (or so I thought) which didn't seem to be doing that much damage. The problems started when the dragon boss form spawned for the 2nd time even though I had already killed it once, although this time it didn't have a full health bar. I lost both Rex's to this second encounter with the dragon but did get it killed. The overseer then proceeded to morph into its other forms again and again and again. I killed the dragon ape and brood at least 3 times in each form untill my Zinos were finally all killed and I was left with a yuti and a shotgun. It didn't end well and I lost eveything (have got back up tames but the saddles are a huge loss, the hide grind is brutal) Is this normal behaviour for the overseer to continue to morph into the 3 bosses even after killing them? The only time I seemed able to get any damage down on the overseer was whilst it was flying around shooting the laser beems but for most of the time my theris were just frantically chasing it and unable to hit it. My guess is that i needed to get more damage down during this phase and that the overseer will keep morphing until you manage to kill it. I thought that after taking out the 3 forms i would get a chance to swarm the overseer and get some proper damage down on it but it wouldn't stay still when it's forcefield was down. I will be attempting another run as soon as I've got some more saddles made up. The Rex's seemed better at getting damage down on the overseer whilst it was flying around but leading a group of them on follow through the cave would be an absolute nightmare solo and I'm certain half of them would end up in the lava unless I go in small groups at a time. Have watched a few videos online but most aren't credible at all or are done as part of a large tribe, I even saw some guy take out the alpha version solo with a pack of 15 Allos (good look doing this on official settings). In the videos I've seen they only ever seem to have to kill each form once. I took out the 3 gamma bosses with no losses using 12 of the aforementioned rexs (brood and ape were super easy, dragon got a few bloody) I honestly thought I'd be able to get through this gamma overseer fight without much issue with the set up I had based on the research I had done. Would love to get some solid advice on how to best approach this fight as a solo player before I try again. One thing I didn't do which I know I should have is put some cakes in the theris, I was lazy skipping this and each one will be getting 10 next time. My research lead me to believe that the gamma overseer fight is easier than the gamma dragon fight and thought I'd be ok as everything had good saddles. Thanks for reading, I look forward to hearing from you guys with more knowledge and experience than me. Have a great weekend :D [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Jan 2019 08:08 AM PST I have 2 gigas both are male and both are noob levels right now. However is there a way to change one of the dino's genders with commands or what. Btw I only was able to get them by sheer luck and early game stock pilling on gun powder and narcotics and being lucky finding a ascended long neck rifle and it was scary as both gigas were about 4 Km from my base [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Jan 2019 07:33 AM PST Hello Everyone, I was looking into opening a new server (PC) focused on a PvEvP setting with some lite RP. I wanted to get some opinions on settings for a server like this. The way I envisioned the server would be a PvE setting with having the ability to create Tribes with alliances to promote community, but enable the ability for tribes to declare war on others in a mutual manner. I have never played with a setting like this on a server and was wondering if anyone had tried out servers like this and would like some input on that kind of thing. As for map I am still in the air about what type of map as this would be a single server cluster to start with. I would like to make it a map that has a variety of options/climates. I do not mind doing custom maps or officials. The two main maps that I was looking into one of each was "Olympus" for the custom and "Ragnarok". Again, I would just like to get some input from the community as to what people think of maps. I know a lot of people are big on Extinction at the moment but I have recently played the shit out of it and would like a change of pace myself. Any input on balance and thoughts of a server like this would be greatly appreciated and if any players/tribes would like to help test out the settings and mods make sure it all works well in tandem when I get the server going that would be great also! Thanks! [link] [comments]
