| Any recommendations for the Snow Cave (The Island)? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:10 AM PST I run a private server for my friend and I and we just can NOT handle the snow cave. The server difficulty is raised (max wild dino lvl is 300), so the polar bears/yetis/purlovias are usually between 450-600. We've tried everything we can think of! We have ridiculous armor and weapons from the Christmas event (~7000 armor each, shotguns and rifles at ~600% each). We tried:
WTF do people do to clear this cave? We love a good challenge, but even taking our best shit is amounting to nothing! Would love to hear any ideas you guys might have [link] [comments]  | ||

But here we've friends, and dino's too, Just find some tames, they'll comfort you. Tamed or not, I care not say. I wish these beasts would go away. Go build a base, and hone your craft, Or make your space upon a raft. A mobile grave you think I need? For all my boats have met the Leed! A tribe can help, you'll all survive, Strength in numbers, to stay alive. ROFL, that's all you've got? I joined a tribe, and I got shot! Then solo live, for many do. I'll be your friend, and live near you. A friend, indeed, yes I should be, But die you must, it's PVP! Thanks for reading, hope you liked it and got a few laughs thinking about all the ark experiences we've all shared. | Just tamed my first Spino and... Posted: 28 Feb 2019 11:37 AM PST Spinosaurus has always been my favorite dinosaur, but despite having the game for a while I was still pretty noobish and have never tamed one. Until last night. I tamed a beautiful pitch black spinosaurus, my first one ever. She was only level 40 but I was pumped for finally adding my favorite creature to my menagerie. My base was right across a river, and I proudly led my new tame across. Anyway, we were swarmed and killed immediately in what's normally a super safe area. RIP Nyx, my first Spino who will always be missed. Haha, I love this game. It may have some flaws, but I don't think I've played another game that has so much potential for personal stories and investment. Anyway, back to trying to find a new Spinosaurus! | Posted: 28 Feb 2019 11:23 AM PST Would be super nice if the Warpaint system was overhauled to some extent. Currently, the UI is a bit confusing, colors don't show up properly, and some larger creatures are difficulty to paint because you can't zoom/pan far enough unless you spin your canvas around in excess to be able to see a spot on your tame, but due to zoom limitations, that spot is a mile away. Main Issues:

| Posted: 28 Feb 2019 11:03 AM PST I have 5 people to work with what do you think would be the optimal build to take out Gamma and Beta? For Alpha we would have the mega mek so it wouldn't be as bad, I don't think. I completed Gamma before the titans were nerfed to take a bunch more damage so I didn't know if that made it much worse or changed the strategy. I have seen people mention using Velos on a quetz but didn't know if someone had some tried and true strategies to use. My idea would be maybe 3 titans with riders. 2 people in meks with a squad of velos to protect the element veins. I just don't know if that would be enough damage for the king titan before the tamed titans died. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 28 Feb 2019 01:07 PM PST Gonna tame a titan to soak a huge base with about 50 heavy turrets and the turret damage is 2x on this server, and if each turret has 1500 bullets, then i have no idea if i can soak them all, because i did the math and thats 11 million raw damage from turrets [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 28 Feb 2019 12:14 PM PST Hello, I just got the game two nights ago, primarily to play with some Discord friends on a private PvPvE server(basically PvE with PvP allowed on the weekends, no offline raiding, some mods and boosted EXP). I started on singleplayer to learn the basics, and started on the server yesterday afternoon. Got established with a base and a few tames pretty fast, but thinking I was on the NW(I was actually in the SW) side of Ragnorak, I decided to travel to what I thought was the NE side.. I pretty quickly got hit by a pack of raptors that killed two of my tames, and then ultimately got attacked by a bird thing that killed my Parasaur then chased me off a cliff. Restarted and fell off another cliff. Then restarted in the Highland E area, and have basically become established again. However, I have realized everyone in the server is over in the NW side of the map, and I kind of want to be close enough to participate in server stuff, but far enough to be safe. I don't want to completely restart, so I am left with trying to figure out how to safely move me and some supplies to a new base location closer to the rest of the players... How do you peoples go about safely traveling? If I lose everything again I am just going to tribe up with the only other solo player on the server lol. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Ark Survival Evolved download size Posted: 28 Feb 2019 12:05 PM PST Ok, I get it's a big beautiful game and has a lot of different assets that make it great and all, but even games like GTAV manage to make themselves not 120GB...does this dev team actually work on file compression? Like damn, I know I need a bigger hard drive, but taking up 50% of one of my hard drive's space is rough right now. Not firing shots, just feels overly unnecessary for some reason to be that large when every other game on PC manages to have a fairly optimized size. Anybody else feel the same about this? | Vault Lock Settings (Unofficial PS4, PVE) Posted: 28 Feb 2019 07:30 AM PST Hey friends, I just started my own unofficial ps4 server, PVE, and I can't figure out how to make it so vaults are locked by default when you create them. All vaults are unlocked by default right now and have to be PIN coded to lock it. I have PVE enabled, so the only other thing I can think of that would cause this is an ORP setting, which I've tried messing with to no avail. Help plz! [link] [comments]  | ||

| doing the math for a raid and need some double checking Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:28 AM PST Im going to do a raid where im estimating the tribe has 50 heavy turrets, if they put 1500 bullets per turret the server i play on has 2x turret damage (official heavies do 300) 50x1500 = 75000 bullets 75000/4 = 18750 bullets shot 18750 bullets 600 damage each shot 1875 x 600 = 11,250,000 damage to soak is my math correct? The structure decay is broken, i knew something was wrong when there were houses when i spawned, when i used to play mc survival servers that almost always meant a server that reset. Posted: 28 Feb 2019 07:12 AM PST I once raised an army of stegosaurus with upwards of 20k health each and a decent melee, and with the help of a friend, a yuty, and a daeodon named Meme Supreme, we actually won with minimal loss against gamma megapithicus.
