An actual (solo) pvp starting guise

    Posted: 15 Jun 2019 12:14 AM PDT

Here's a proper guide on how to survive pvp because I don't know how many people post about this every week that I might as well just make this to help out (also a bit out of frustration and boredom)

    LEVELLING:

Don't listen to all these people and old guides on spam crafting narcs, seriously do not waste your time on this!!! Starting as lvl 1, go around the island starting from west 2 Craig island and going north, collect explorer notes (go find a video or something) until you can craft a ptera saddle. Once you got a ptera, continue on the island to get notes while levelling your ptera while searching for alpha raptors, Carnos and if you're experienced, rexes to kill and get xp from. After around 70s, 65 min. to craft C4, you can chose some ways - continue to kill alphas/wyverns, get a grinder and sit on a toilet or don't do anything because the levels will come naturally and unless you want to rush heavies or industrial stuff, you don't need anything higher for now

    ENGRAMS:

DO NOT learn everything all willy nilly, especially when solo those engram points are precious, here's a list of things you should learn :

Tools, ptera and argy saddle, crafting stations, turrets, ammo, weapons(Longneck, crossbow, pump and fab sniper, the rest are useless don't bother), explosives, narcs and gunpowder, vaults, grapples, parachutes, bolas, flak armor and scuba (fur if you live in snow) , BUILDINGS - up to metal, foundations walls ceilings and doors, do not get behemoth and normal gates (you can get wood and stone for traps) unless you plan on building big which if you're solo, DONT. Giant hatchframes if you plan on turrets and good for weight efficient metal when raiding. I think that's it, any other things you want to craft then go ahead, these are just the essentials...

    TAMES:

Ptera and argy are essential (argy not so much), farming dinos like anky, doed, angler etc. if you want to grind. Purlovias to hide your stuff, soaking dinos if you want to raid bigger bases that can't be beer ran, microraptor is BROKEN if it's ai doesn't bug out so definitely get this, it's a full 10 second stun, TEN SECONDS to hit the man with a bola to stun them for another 25 seconds!

    STATS:

Get your fingers off oxygen, melee, food and water. 1 point in fort to not get 1 tapped by troodons, 200 Stam, 300 weight, 200-350 health, crafting skill if you want and the rest in speed. Of course if you're on an island server then build according to swamp fever cause you're ganna get it about 3/4 of the time.

    MAPS:

    Counting best to worst -

The center: I swear a new hidden location is found on this map every week because the map has literal holes everywhere

Extinction : like the center, there are lots of random holes to hide but it's more popular

Aberration : it's dark with lots of hiding spots but there's no flyers

Island : tree hidden bases are getting less hidden nowadays but it's still possible

Ragnarok : no. Just no. This is the most popular map and you're not ganna survive

Scorched : this is a wild card(no pun intended) most scorched maps are one of 2 things - Super empty because everyone is too noob to play on a harder map, or there's one giant alpha controlling the entire map. If it's the former then it's a good map for solo

    BASIC PVP KIT:

2 sets of flak, flippers(a tank if you want), bolas, parachutes, Longneck/fab sniper, pump, grapples, C4 for Griffins, plant Z/Y, Med brews/blood bags, stims and if you have the weight, spike walls for when you get bola'ed.

    NOTHING TO A BASE:

Right then now let's go through the actual process.

Start getting notes until you can craft a ptera saddle, go onto rag and spawn in highlands, you got 2 choices here. If you can find a sheep, great! Remember the spot and find a ptera, knock it put with tranq arrows or slingshot if you're hardcore. If you can't find a sheep, get a horse, knock out a ptera and find a sheep or rage quit and just kill diplos for Prime. Reason you get a horse in this instance is because it helps you travel faster to find a sheep.

Next, ditch your horse if you have one and go back to the island to collect notes until you're at a suitable level. Enter your map of choice and find a hidden location to build (either YouTube or find one yourself), get a 1 or 2x1 WITH A DOUBLE DOOR to house a smithy, bed and pestles. Put the forges outside because they're huuuuge. Farm for a fab, put that fab in your base and shove your ptera inside that base with the double door because thanks wildcard for allowing solo players to fit their ptera inside a double door.

Do whatever you want after that - make C4 and raid the entire server, get farming dinos, provoke the alpha on a wild hunt to find your base, get wiped, anything!

RANDOM TIPS I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO PUT:

Shut your mouth in global chat

Change your tribe name after raiding

Cryo your dinos and kys when logging off to stop wyverns with para from detecting your base

Unlock your stuff because there's always a chance your raider will only take the stuff they need, besides would you rather lose everything because they blew up your stuff or take the chance and at the very least keep the storage/crafting station?

If you're raiding online, take a ptera. If you're raiding offline, take an argy. Argy can carry more stuff back and ptera can battle easier and get away if things get sour and the alpha comes on their 290 perfect tamed Griffin.

On ptera, if they parachute too early, get off and shoot them. They'll panic and either get killed by your following shots or fast fall onto the ground in which you can pick them up again.

If the enemy is too heavy to be moved by your ptera, wait for a while. If they bring out bolas, guns or grapples then drop them. If they try to punch you, LET THEM. They will knock you back until you reach the sky to eventually drop them. I cannot tell you how many people I've done this to because they thought pushing me into the sky was a good idea.

C4 on flyers cripples them into a snail

Best character is dark skinned female with big hands and feet. Females are smaller than males for a smaller hitbox, dark skin will help you be harder to see and big hands/feet will make sure those parts are hit more because gloves and boots are not as important as chest, legs and definitely head. It's not being racist or sexist, it's being practical.

I wanna play more, but I always find myself getting bored after like half an hour. Any ways to fix this?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2019 09:49 AM PDT

Title says it all. I haven't even gotten very far into the game tbh, I just get worn out after playing for a few hours, forget what I was doing on that save and delete it, then make a new one. Anyone know how I can make this game fun again?

dino wont move when I get on it.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2019 06:08 AM PDT

So titles pretty self explanatory. So I have a perfect tame tek raptor, who is my world atm because it can take on the universe. So I was riding it along with my buddies who were scavenging, I hopped off rutah got some items got back on and wouldnt move. So I do what any logical person would do and dumped its inventory. Still wouldnt move. So I try looking in like first person. Nothing. I pull out a pike itll move like left and right to turn but that's it. Other tribesmen can ride it just fine. And it will follow me and everything but the second I sit on it, it's like it's over encumbered and wont move. Anyone know any fixes for this issue, and what may have caused it?

Can you change the settings to a dedicated server on xbox after its made?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2019 09:50 AM PDT

I've been running a dedicated server for my friends and I recently, and I messed up the settings for egg hatch rate. Is there anyway I can change this? I've tried with the settings from the menu but it doesnt seem to have any effect. Also, I tried the admin manager and it also seems to be no help. Any help? Thanks in advance, and sorry for being a nuisance :P

    Therizino farming levels question

    Posted: 15 Jun 2019 07:23 AM PDT

Hi there is there a guide for those specialized levels? I just read that a fully power-farming specialized Therizino would get much more meat from an Ovis if you slaghter it and then farm the body with the claw attack... which is true, I'm now swimming in lamb meat.

What else can you power/delicate-farm in this "exploity" way?

Ooooh and my main question, if I max delicate farming can I claw attack the mangrove trees and get more mushrooms? or flowers from the swamp? or since mushrooms come from claw attack at swamp I need power-farming?

    EDIT:

I'm just testing and it seems to be better to have a full power harvest therizino for meat rather than a T-Rex? also what's the best dino for farming meat? do I raise phiomias and raise health then kill? is there a mod to slaughter for meat like we do with the Ovis?

    Who is your "dino legend"?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 05:48 PM PDT

Pretty much everyone has one, as long as you've been playing long enough! I'm not looking for just good dinos (high levels), but a dino who is remembered for, say, defending your base against an alpha, or saving you from something, or just being extremely important to you. Any reason is fine, so long as you give an explanation as to why.

    Taming and torpor

    Posted: 15 Jun 2019 07:10 AM PDT

Friends and I are fairly casual, and I'm looking to increase taming speeds a bit on my server (have been toying with 4). The speed is nice, but it completely takes narcs out of the game for many tames.

Is there a way to increase torpor drain, so we can get faster tames, but still have to monitor our tame process ?
