If you build Pillars all over the the easy spawns on a PvE server....you're a dickhead

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 04:15 PM PDT

I just started playing so il wait to join a PvP. So I'm trying to learn to fuckin play and lots of the PvE servers have some dickheads building simple stone pillars all over the easy spawns areas. So I can't place a camp fire to keep warm over night...I basically die because I run into some random high level dino that kills me...guess il play single player until I learn the game or il just stop playing.

    Can’t craft some things

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 02:46 AM PDT

So I've started over as I recently been wiped and sometimes when I die I can't craft a stone pick or torch? Can someone please help as the only thing that works to unlock those engrams that you start the game with is to transfer to a different server. Cheers in advance.

    Best Raptor taming location?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 04:45 AM PDT

I'm still relatively new to the game, and I was just wondering where the best Raptor taming area on the south end of the map is. playing on single player.

So, I just started playing a single player, used to play on PC during beta. Well, I knocked out a stupid Dodo, and I can't put food on him, or anything for that matter. Help?

    Friend cant join any server

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 11:45 AM PDT

One of my friends who bought the game 3 days ago cant join our server. In fact he cant join any server (official, dedicated,non-dedicated). It keeps giving him the error "failure to connect to host". He has already uninstalled and reinstalled the game. He has tried all different modes and maps. The rest of us are fine and can connect but he is the only one having this issue. Has anyone else had this issue and were you able to fix it?

    Shadow Splitscreen Glitch?

Is there a way to fix it without an admin command, just wondering since I think admin commands take away trophies

A story of a noob Ark player

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 01:23 AM PDT

I am a new player (been playing for a week now) and my knowledge of the game when i bought it last week is that its a survival open world with dinos tht you can tame, and you can build stuff. My first couple tries I struggled to understand the controls ALOT, eventually got used to it (still finding out new shortcuts until today). Started on the island until i lost literally everything to 2 alpha raptors (my raft and 10x10 thatch house) left the server and went to ragnarok and there i got my first passive tame, a gacha and shortly after my first flier, was a pteranodon and i was soooo happy i could fly around to search around while being safe, found an argentavis and wanted to tame him too but he killed both of us lol. then played few hours and on extinction and hated the map. Finally went and tried scorched earth and i loved it, the weather is a bitch but as soon as i entered the server there was couple players next to me (my first encounter with other players at that point) and they were so nice, they hooked me up with a desert armor, crossbow, pike, and some steel and fire arrows AND they gave me a maturing Argentavis level 214! He was at 70% maturity bar. and they asked me to build away from their base, I happily obliged after all the goodies they gave me and set off exploring, the pike came in handy to kill couple scorpions and terror birds while i was carefully advancing fearing for my RG, until i found a place under a cliff that can be easily defended by building a wall to close the 120 degree that is open. I shoved my bird in the mountain side crack that was there so no dinos could see him, after 2 days of playing he became so strong (he already had insanely good stats to start with) and got his hp up to 7k, 2k stam, 1.5k weight, and 600% attack at level 268. Oh and i named him hawk.

I started thinking I should start taming other dinos just because i didnt know what to do next. Went to the mountain on the left side of the map and found an RG level 10, looked around and found a flat ridge and built 5 gateways and 2 dino gates as trap (seen the trap in a video after my first encounter with him in ragnarok) and went after the RG to agro her, was barely doing any dmg to me, i was alone so no one to close the gate for me after i lead her in so i had the far door closed already, set my RG to passive, and flew inside the trap, she followed and i dismounted and ran and close the door behind her, so was chipping at my RG that stood their like a champ and wasn't even bothered lol. Shot her with a few tranq arrows and she went to sleep. All worked well and went back to the base and made another trap (this was my own idea but i bet it isn't new lol) made a 9x9 room with no roof and a single door, one wall high from all sides except 1 wall is 3 walls high, and made a ladder from outside the room leading to a platform attached to that high wall, went around and found a sabertooth and picked him up with my RG and dropped him in my trap, went up to the platform and shot him until he went to sleep, boom my first ground tame in scorched earth. After that i tamed a low level direwolf then i found a level 140 direwolf (I previously saw how direwolves howl and get some kind of buff for the whole pack) and decided i wanted my own pack of wolves, again went and did the same procedure which was very convenient since the trap is literally less than 200 feet away from my base, so i could go fix my crossbow or get more arrows or prime meat from the preserving bin.

After some time, i ended up with 5 direwolves (breeding the strongest 2) and going on small hunting trips or more of killing sprees to level up my pack, all of my direwolve got to level 210-240 except my first tame which is around 110 now.

Eventually in my explorations i found the desert edge, farmed oragnic polymer from the mantises and found a cave which destroyed me from the first encounter (rock elemental + 2 mantises + a titanoboa) good thing i left a sleeping bag right at the entrance cuz i had a feeling this cave adventure aint ending well.

After some time i found a huuuuge valley in the far west which had lots and lots of wyverns, i was very intimidated by them although i had lots of faith in my tanky hawk that hits really hard. So i decided to fly around in the valley to see if i can discover anything interesting. Eventually i noticed something on the side wall, i turn around and fly towards it, it was an 🥚, a wyvern egg, i looked around to make sure no one is looking, grabbed the egg and flew away.. just a few seconds and i see hawk's ass is on fire and I panicked and flew higher to leave the valley of death and tried so hard to lose the wyvern on my tail but he was twice as fast and even when i put some distance he would still catch me with his fire breath. I got half way back to my base which is right in the center of the map but hawk couldn't take more beating from the wyvern and died 😭😭😭 i hid behind a rock and thought i was safe only get wacked by the wyvern after a few seconds.

I used my low level argentavis to go back to the location and found my body and retrieved all my weapons and to my surprise the wyvern egg was still there, i mean he chased my ass half way through the map just to kill me and hawk and he didn't bother take his egg back? Hmm cant complain. Did a quick search about how to hatch this egg since i never did hatch a fertilized egg before since all my dinos are mammals and hawk was neutered so he didn't mate with my other RG. And to my surprise i found out i need lots of wyvern milk!!! Like 34 minimum which are required for the baby wyvern.

So now am just preparing myself, enhancing my base, building more advanced crafting stations and such, and i am terrified to go back to that damn valley. How do u guys deal with wyverns?

Question about settings in single player:

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 10:14 AM PDT

I finally felt comfortable enough to set the difficulty at max so I get high level Dinos finally. I'm still at herbi island and went for a lvl 125 anky and 90 pteranodon. Is it normal that this takes freaking ages? (EDIT: I use mejoberries for the anky and prime meat/meat for ptera. Should I go for kibbles? Haven't quite figured those out yet) I mean I informed myself of course and expected a longer waiting time, but at this speed it could take another 3 hours or so! Is this normal? I have my settings on max at taming speed but also fiddled around a bit with other settings, like some higher stats for dinos. So here's my main question: Is there a setting when set to a higher level increases the taming speed again or is this just the normal speed?

Which maps should I play on and how to do this on a non-dedicated server?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 01:25 PM PDT

My friend and I just bought the game and we've been playing on a non-dedicated server on The Island, because I know it's the first map you should play. We're both very new to the game and don't know very much. I've tried looking for information but it's very unclear, e.g., I've seen on some forum that after The Island, you should play Scorched Earth, but on the Ark wiki it says something about ascension and that you go from The Island to Aberration. I've also heard that you can switch maps and take your dinos and stuff with you.

So, what is the correct order for the maps? How do the custom Arks fit into this and can I switch freely to them aswell? how do I switch on a non-dedicated server?

I hope this wasn't too confusing and thank you in advance.
