    I bought The Forest thinking "Yea, this sound so fucking cool. Who needs shit like Minecraft and Ark when I could play this."

    After only 4 hours I'm back on an Ark server.

    So I am new to ark and wanted to spawn in the artic just to see what was there and I came across 2 ko dire wolves (one was the pack leader) and 3 dead ones I tamed the 2 koed ones I named one Sif and the other tundra I play solo tho so how did they get knocked out?

    How do people find the space to breed

    I've been playing ark for about a year and I've gotten pretty powerful on a few occasions but no matter what there's always some insane bred up Dino's. How are people getting the space and time to breed these Dino's without being wiped?

    Trying to explain the purpose of breeding for mutations to my pve friends.

    I see people on here and have played with people that get obsessed with the breeding mechanic.
    let me start off by saying, if you are breeding for color mutations then thats dope. I respect it. Its cool to see the pics of rare colors on here so keep doing what you're doing.

    For the stat mutations tho, I want to put it in perspective.

    Stat mutations are equivalent to leveling up your dino. There is only ONE difference between the results of stat mutations and the result of lvling up dinos. And that is the base stats of the hatchling.

    There are 2 ultimate goals of stat breeding.

    1.) To use as currency.
    2.) To have a ready to go out-of-egg boss killer or raid Dino. To farm element or raid bases etc.

    In pve, especially on a server with boosted xp stats, you're really wasting your time stacking mutations. And I say that b/c in the time it would take you to stack 20 muts on melee and 20 on HP for a rex for example. I could take 20 rexes out and level them to max level. wipe them all in a boss fight and start over 3 or 4 times (at least).

    The purpose of breeding for muts is to have a no-hassle boss/base killer pop out of the egg every time. Outside of that need, you are wasting time.

    Now, you might say, but special, I just want to do it b/c I just want to. Well fair enough. It is fun to do. I won't judge you. But don't feel like it's something you have to do to beat a boss or something. Especially considering the time it kills and takes away from other more fun stuff.

    This is just one virgin's opinion. What are your thoughts?

    Im sick of keeping my dinos in cryos and building bases without spikes/turret defences. I had upgraded my base to stone which took forever just for this event to stay safe. I loved the color mutations and hilarious gimmick of a super turkey but

    ITS TIME TO STOP.

    Perfect Explorer in 1 game?

    I was wondering if you had to collect all the notes/dossiers/records in 1 game to unlock this achievement? Or can it be spread across multiple games? Just I have the Overseer's note unlocked but with a padlock over it meaning I've unlocked it in a previous game but not my current. Will I still get the achievement?

    Arkprofile recovery question

    I am running into the known issue where when a player uses a Obelisk or a S+ Tek Transmitter it causes them to disconnect and throws out a server timeout error. Any know way to actually fix this?

    I have spent hours reading and testing all of the recovery guides i have found and i cannot fix the the player.

    I run 2 servers as a cluster for a small group of 6 using AKSM using the following mods: Awesome Spyglass, Awesome Teleporters! Tools Evolved LITE, Dino Storage v2, EMS, GHG Tranq Remastered, Death Helper, Meat Spoiler, Structures Plus, HG Stacking Mod 5000, Classic Flyers, Editable Server UI (unused), Dino Tracker, EZ Mind Wipes, and Avalanche Tek Managarmr.

    Main server we go back to is on Extinction and the server we are currently playing on for our story line play through is The Island.

    We have never had this issue until the situation below happened,

    Issue started after we ascended and we started packing up all of our materials and dinos in cryo pods and uploading them to ark data so we could transfer over to scorched earth the others uploaded what they wanted and transferred servers when i uploaded some materials, a couple cryo pods and S+ structures into ark data my game timed out. When i logged back onto the server and tried accessing a S+ tek transmitter or Obelisk it would time out my game but the other players had no issues. At the same time of this all happening my character would just time out when i would just be standing there. Other Players can transfer between the island and the other map i have running no problem.

    I logged onto the extinction server and made a brand new character and it also had the same timeout issueThe Player File is my personal character even killing the Character and spawning a new one it still times out when trying to open a Obelisk.

    The solutions i tried before using the guides i listed above was rolling back the island server to a save the day before this happened and the rolled back player file still had the issue i havent rolled back both servers on the cluster to the day before yet as i don't think it will fix the issue.

    This is a error when i get when i try to run this .arkprofile for my character and the island map save in single player/non-dedicated. If i do a new island map with the character save i can load in on the character on a clean version of the island map but when i access the ark data in a obelisk there is nothing in there for me to remove from it to try and fix the obelisk issues that i have mentioned.

    Any ideas on what else i could try is worth something to me at this point.

    EDIT: I rolled both of the servers back to a day before the incident and i am the only one that still has the time out issue even though this was a backup before the "issue" started.
