| It finally happened - I lost my character. Posted: 29 Mar 2021 07:22 AM PDT Edit: I got my toon back! I waited about an hour and logged back in. Now I can download my character. I think the problem may have been with my connection or the server rolling back to when I was jumping in? Either way, my record of never losing a toon is still intact but sure came close to it lol 😎 😎 😎 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been playing since 2015 Early Access. Done hundreds of transfers and uploads and never had an issue. Last night it finally happened. I jumped from Aberration to Crystal Isles and logged off for the night. I just logged back in and was greeted by the character creation screen. I tried checking the previous server and nothing. Has anyone had any luck getting their character back from Customer Support? | Posted: 29 Mar 2021 10:14 AM PDT So im in the process of buying a pc from a friend that has to move away and he is selling his pc that he build 7months ago GPU is a ASUS RX 480 8gb, CPU ryzen 5 3600, Asus prime b550 motherboard (wifi), 16gb ddr4 ram 3200mhz and 144hz monitor. would this be a better experience than my current xbox one X? I understand this isent going to be the best experience to play ark but will be better that my xbox ?... I've been in the market for a pc and my budged is the price he is selling for and I dont think I will get better than that in the current GPU and CPU situation... I'm a massive ark fan and and I have always wanted to experience it on pc. any advice will be much appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||

| ban on the survivetheark forum site only Posted: 29 Mar 2021 05:18 AM PDT I been having in issue with needing to view the survivetheark forums after some random ban was issued to me blocking access. Last time I was on the site I was trying to put in a ticket on battleye erroring and not letting the 'handshake' to connect to ark server happen if you happen to be running the beta preview of windows at the time. the only notes was from about 3-4 YEARS ago that some community advisor person took a comment i made the wrong way then banned me for a week. i unfortunately needed that version of windows because a feature on my phone that let my phone connect to windows pcs was temporally removed from windows for a year but was still available on the beta preview branch. When I went to put in a ticket for this issue the site seemed to error and then I could not find the ticket in the list. I tried a few more times to see if I was entering the ticket info wrong or if there was some issue with the site itself. eventually i got a message that for some reason the ark support did not deal with server issues at all even though they have a bug report tag just for server issues. also at the time they did not have any good way to let you contact battleye about the issue and really still don't. After trying off and on for about a year someone finally fixed the issue and I was finally able to play ark again however all my twitch friends that had ark server actually did me a solid and removed battleye from their server do to the wide number of issues it has caused and just set up white and black list for them instead. however even though battleye has corrected their issue and i have gotten messages from them and from ark support saying I had no bans I still end up with a your are banned screen for the survivetheark forum when I try to look up any info from goggle to find stuff out. I have been playing Ark for a long time and have over 16,000 hours in the game. I actively avoid and leave servers and tribes that seem like they are doing anything that goes against my morals. I am the type of player that the only times I would attack someones base is if someone was being rude and purposely blocking up part of the map that others need to use without good reason and refuses to compromise or move. I spend alot of time just going around the maps i am on and helping players get started and keeping peace or helping fend of griefers that just want to come and break stuff using obviously dupt gear and resources on fresh never used before throwaway steam accounts. it seems that atleast those days are finally being dealt with but in the last year I also have heard of alot of accidental bans being issued. my looks into these accidents seem to show that most of them were AI generated and not actually applied by person. i understand that when you have to deal with so much issues with a game this big alot of overfull happens and can't be filtered or found unless someone comes back multiple times and shouts they have an issue and need actual help. so here is another cry for help from me. again I have no bans on steam or in game to my best knowledge, just a ban on the survivetheark forum site. I do still have an issue with atlas that it will not let me log on ANY server and only lets me play single player which has continued from the first day I bought the game. My game name is Arachia or Arachia Botanical or Artikia depending on the site and time the account was setup. | It was just a simple beaver tame. Posted: 28 Mar 2021 06:58 PM PDT So I'm playing modded primal fear and I've got a nice base built up. Built to fend against the dangers of primal fear. Far outter walls keep the AOE attacks away from my dinos, and turrets surround my main spots for when the odd dinos make their way through those walls. I'm feeling safe and sound and that was my mistake. I go out with my fave argy (fabled), grab a beaver (fabled) and bring it back to my taming pen inside the outter walls. Whoops carno (apex) on aggressive almost ruins the tame but all ends ok, that was a close one. I toss in some kibble and narcs and time to get another beaver for backup. Wait a second, why's it so dark...the shadow looms over the entire taming pen and much past. It's a massive shadow, think fast, hop on the argy, whatever it is just lead it away and you will be fine. Turn, jump, fly. And then I see the glow. The glow of the chaos wyvern. I can't outrun this, and a fight will be a bloodbath. Fly argy fly. Zig, zag, don't let it hit you with that. And we are both dead. Did I make it far enough away? Do I have enough time to cryo my dinos and flee from the base? On respawn it's a wall of red, he's back at the base, panic, what do I save, no I can lead it away again. I have a griffin in the basement vault, grab it, run outside, the shadow looms, it's too late. The wall of red is over, only target left is me and my griffin. Can I get away? Nope, shoulda went out the other entrance. Goodbye my beautiful dinos. The time we spent together will forever be remembered. Your fertilized eggs will hopefully live on and provide me a new generation, a generation with an owner who defends from flyers as well as A O E. [link] [comments]  | ||
