    I have bought the season pass

    when I try to load in to genesis part 2 i get sent to the steam page that says its in my library

    I've tried unchecking and rechecking the dlc but I can get it to work

    Best crystal wyvern type overall in your opinion?(only for PVE situations)

    Blood seems great for long hard fights like alphas

    Tropical has hydrated buff for damage boost and hp regen(+the well known speed boost)

    And ember seems meh but at least decent in bosses if their AI can breath on its own and stack rage

    IMO tropical seems to be the best generally but i find it weird no one seems to think the same so i want more opinions...

    logged out yday, game worked fine, patch comes in today and this is what i log in to.. have anyone tried this before ? anyone know a fix?

    i tried kiling myself, taking armor on and off etc, keeps following me around, even my death corpse has the graphical error.

    i tried cleanly installing gfx driver again, verified files, its on every server i go to.

    any help is appreciated

    And I mean literally impossible.

    I'm trying to do "Choose your own adventure" but the second stage always needs me to go up...while there is no way up. Suit doesn't work, tames are not allowed. I made myself fly with the cheat for it and went up there, and there is no way of getting up other than flying. I don't get how you are supposed to do this?

    Let alone the fact that they constantly spawn 5-6 dinos into your face to attack you.

    Other quest I tried so far was the bulbdog one, where you gotta catch them with a net. 5 nets and it won't work, then I got killed by one of the 10 allosaurus they also spawn right into your face.

    Did they ever playtest this? Or do they just expect us to do every quest as a 10 player clan or something?

    So, I've just quit Genesis Part 2 after about 3 days playtime. While I love the map aesthetic and story, there are so many decisions that I just can't understand in regard to the gameplay and content.

    - A story with an Overarching Goal with no beats along the way

    While the boss fight with Rockwell is presumably a fun one, I've found this new mission system that was introduced with Genesis Part 1 to be so dull and lifeless. The missions are almost all broken on console, and many are the comparable to the shitty side activities from GTA V that very few even play. Having these instanced missions replace the whole "Build up gear > collect artifacts from caves > fight mini bosses" gameplay loop that came of the original island map was a terrible idea in my opinion.

    Instead we get thrown back into the simulation for some random tasks that hold no bearing on the story (like paddling down a river in a canoe and getting stuck at the waterfall for 15 minutes). Why not have us actually battle through different interiors of the ship, gather higher authorisation codes that would enable access to new caves / zones of the map, ANYTHING instead of this.

    They could have even given Rockwell his own lieutenants-style minibosses with their own personalities who used to be the crew that his hivemind had taken over that we could have fought first. There is literally anything Wildcard could have done that would have made the progression for Gen 2 feel more worthwhile and enjoyable. The fact that I can even stand 10 feet beneath Rockwell's beating heart in less than a few hour's playtime is pretty ridiculous given the stakes.

    - Tek Progression

    The fact we start with an unlimited fuel tek suit already shatters the entire sense of progression of the game. I know it is the Federation variant with a much lower Armor value, but the fact that most encounters can be flown away from at Mach 4 pretty much ruin any sense of fear from dinos anymore, as well as removed any need for taming them ourselves. Wildcard should've had players lose/break their tek gear after being dragged around by Rockwell in the intro.

    Secondly, Loot Crates are obscenely profitable and my tribe found countless Industrial grinders and forges, a chemistry table, tek gear, tek structures and black pearls in just three days.

    Lastly, don't restrict tekgrams on the last DLC of the game until after you've beaten the boss. As someone who really doesn't like the PVP in ark, it really took the wind out of my sails once I found out that I have to wait until after I have no reason left to play to use the new toys.

    - No real change to map or creatures

    The new map and creatures we got are either reskins with tweaked stats or just more of the same. I'm disappointed the Rockwell's mutated survivor's from his boss fight weren't littered around his garden biome, maybe rockwell could talk through them while you fought them. It was quite the unique opportunity to showcase some particularly gruesome body-horror type stuff to really convey the nightmarish nature of the infected ring (think flood from Halo), but no, its Eden but with some big flowers, tentacles, and a pink hue over everything.

    You'd also imagine that a colony ship that is made to preserve life with such advanced technology would also have some sort of virus purging system. This would be a good way to have weather effects across the entire ring that actually pose a threat to the player as well, much like scorched earth's sandstorms/heatwaves, but cranked up to 11. They could have had large airlocks that Rockwell will try and open to vent you into space the closer you get to him.

    There is only really three biomes across the whole map, which shouldn't be a problem given that maps like scorched earth were fantastic despite being just one big biome. But the biomes on genesis part 2 feel just... empty. Maybe its the lack of caves or external content now that progression is locked to missions that take you outside the main map, but either way it feels just lifeless.

    I don't know, all in all I am disappointed that ark has petered out on such a weak note. Hopefully with Ark II focusing on more primitive technology the game will be more challenging, but the mission system needs to go, and be replaced with something more substantial like an actual story missions that make contextual sense.

    My thoughts on ARK after 6 years playing it, and what I would love to see in ARK 2.

    Context

    These are my views as a 28 yold ARK player who has been playing in official PVP servers for the last 6 years. I am stating my age since I believe my point of view can be biased given that I have to spend most of my weekly time working and doing IRL stuff that I did not have to do as a university student when I started playing.

    After playing ARK Genesis 2 for a couple days and getting wiped by multiple exploits a couple of times, I thought I'd write a post giving my opinion on some issues that the game developers should pay attention to when developing ARK 2. I know PvP aspects will be controversials and some PvE players will just tell me to STFU, but I have put together a list of what I believe could be QOL improvements for everyone who enjoys ARK. I'd love to see other people constructive feedback on these ideas and also add more of their own with the hope that devs will read this post and act upon some of the issues addressed. Keep in mind that I am addressing only "negative" issues, since I mostly love every other aspect of it.

    PvP specifics that would hugely incrase the casual player base:

    1. Raiding hours: You can only get raided at certain hours on certain days. The larger and more active your tribe is, the more available raiding hours against you. 1 man tribe who plays 10 hours a week? You can only get raided 2 hours per day. 40 man tribe with hundreds of hours weekly? You can get raided every day every hour.
    2. Fresh player protection: Upon joining a new server for the first time, you have several days where you cannot be raided (your dinos and you can be killed, but structures are safe). This allows new players, or experienced ones that want to start playing again to be able to defend themselves. This could be anywhere from 2 days to 1 week, not more.
    3. Quarterly wipes: Wipe servers once every 3 months. Alpha tribes will keep playing, believe it or not. You could have other servers that do not get wiped after 3 months for people who want this gameplay, but have at least 20% of the servers get wiped every 3 months.

    Inmersion changes:

    1. Improve lighting system: You can't look at the reflection of the sun directly, and indirectly in many surfaces. Even though you don't look at the sun directly IRL, you can look slightly below, or above, or to the side without getting blind. Decrease the radius of the sun light and improve lighting effects overall regarding shadows.
    2. Increase the number of animations for dinosaurs. Most of them perform just 1 type of attack and it feels really repetitive. Also they move at constant speed, there is no acceleration involved in their movements. The degrees of movement also feel crappy, and the AI is just not existing. I know this is really hard to improve, and tbh I do not consider this a deal breaker, but something to look towards if you aim to become an AAA game.
    3. Quests: They don't feel oriented towards an end goal. Quests should have some type of lore that drive you towards the DLC end boss. Other than being a requirement to summon the boss, there is no relationship between the boss and the quests, which by the way feel repetitive and uninteresting.
    4. Ocean biome: The ocean does not feel engaging at all, it is either too empty or too dangerous. It feels boring to dive the oceans since nothing really interesting happens there. I liked somehow the Genesis 1 ocean biome, although the islands were not really interesting, but would be good to see this type of ecosystem evolve.

    Metagame improvements:

    1. Make sure servers are up to the expectations. The lag is insane during release weeks.
    2. Enable a queue system for joining servers. Actually first week lag spikes are partly due to players spamming the join button with mouse macros and the like. Just allow for a queue so that players can join the queue and not having to spam the join button for minutes/hours. This is not good for anyone.
    3. Ranking systems: Some sort of global rankins on things like best dinos, largest amount of resources, number of killed players, etc would vastly improve the engagement of the players since they have things to look up to.
    4. QA before release: Some bugs and exploits that reach live game are too easy to predict. If you release 5 dinosaurs for a new DLC, it is not possible that 2 of them (Noglin and Strider) have game breaking exploits as trivial as being ignored by turrets or being able to "dupe" their inventory items.

    Found a DC spot on genesis 2 Xbox

    There's a DC spot around 50 lat 35 lon, and from the looks it only effects people who use last gen consoles. Basically you go into the area, DC from the server, and get stuck as you DC as soon as you log back in. Only way out is to die and respawn or get draged out by someone on a next gen console. There's a group of assholes on my server trying to lure people over there so they take their shit and no one can do anything about it as they're the only ones on the server with Xbox Series Xs. Kinda salty I lost a 140 astro delphis with a 200+ armor saddle to these pricks.

    I have a question about Reaper Queens…

    I know that Reaper Queens aren't tameable, I know you have to be impregnated by them, but, is there a way to knock them out anyway? I want to uh.. force feed them some mutagen and see if the baby gets the 20 extra levels. But I can't tranq them down, and I'm not sure what else to try.
