    If given the option which variant is the best dino?... Of course if they have all of them. Aka, tek rexes being superior to X-, or aberrant megalo vs vanilla. Now that I think about it, are Parasaur the only dino to have every tamable variant!!?

    so i play on windows 10 version of ark and have been for about a year now. All of a sudden when i load into ark my resolution scale resets, graphics just randomize and so on.

    if there is a fix to this pls let me know!

    Hi, I wanted to know if I add XP with a cheat to a male or female dino which is low lvl will it matter in breeding cause I did some testing and it didn't help baby dino got the low lvl stats.

    Ascended Extinction at last, few tips and a small guide for new people starting Extinction.

    I have been doing a walkthrough of each map in order single player, so far I have ascended " The island, Abberation and finally extinction. I had to skip SE because ps4 store removed it so I couldn't get it. Extinction is a very unique map much different the ones before, It isn't a hard map it is for sure a very grind demanding map, I spent so much time farming rather then playing. In total I spent over 30k Metal ingots and half of that in polymer.. I had to build a Forge, Tek rep, lv51 Mek and then another high level mek which needed 10k metal and 5k polymer. Settings used are similar to offical default with 3x rates, other then weight since I boosted it a bit and some other minor changes but mostly kept the stuff default. Single player. I am starting gen1 next but to be honest I wanted to skip it and go straight to gen2... I didn't play gen1 to much but I remember that it wasn't that great. If anyone has tips for gen1 then please post below, I barely know the map so anything will be useful.

    Now a few tips for those who are starting this wonderful map. It's a basic guide so excuse me if I missed anything.

    "Spawn"

    A good place to spawn is in the city of course, I personally made a base near the green obilisk but I recommend making one on high ground since some alpha rex's can spawn here which is a headache, near the green obilisk you get a lot of useful tames and the beavers which let harvest cementing paste.

    "Resources"

    • Metal- You can some metal in the city, close to the waterfall you'll find a lot of metal and around the edges of the inner city. This is the safe option, the dangerous option is finding metal in the waste land which I don't recommend going to early on.
    • Polymer- Polymer can be harvested from the corrupted dinos that are in the waste land, but it's quite risky early. Once you have got a strong tame I highly recommend getting Polymer from the mantis that you can find in the desert cave, It's much faster then farming it from the corrupted dinos which barely drop enough. I had thousands of polymer just from the mantis.
    • Crystal,Oil,Electronics- These three can be farmed from the Enforcers,Defense Units and the light lamps that you find all over the city, they also drop metal which is useful.
    • Cementing paste- Beaver dams can be found near the green obilisk where the lake and near the waterfall where the trench is, you can also find a lot in the forest biome near the rivers.
    • Silica Pearls- Now this one is tricky, apart from finding some in the beaver dams, the main area to farm them is the Forbidden zone, this area contains a lot of corrupted wyverns and gigas not to mention rexs and so on. You will need a quick tame for this in case you need to escape, a flyer works well but be sure to scout the area because if a wyvern pops out and chases you then you're done for.

    "Useful tames"

    • Snow owl- This is a very useful and strong tame, it has a fast glide which lets you travel around the map quickly and it's ability to self heal and heal your tames and you. Imprinted Owl is faster then the standard owl as well.
    • Gacha- It's a very effective tame to farm items early game, such as armor and weapons etc. You have to feed it snow owl pellets to tame it.
    • Anklo- A must have to farm metal due to it's ability that reduces the metal weight in its inventory by 75%, It doesn't however reduce the weight of metal ingots. It can also farm a lot of flint and stone as well as crystal and obsidan.
    • Velo- A very high DPS dino that shoots like a minigun and does decent damage, it's fairly easy to tame just stay in cover and shoot him slowly while avoiding his attacks.

    "Waste land tips"

    ​

    Before going into the wasteland I suggest making a full ghillie suit, the heat in there is to high and will drop your hp to 0 very quickly.

    Avoid going to forbidden zone early because it's to dangerous, it does have some resources there but it's easier to find them in safer places.

    ​

    "Doing the OSD"

    ​

    • Blue OSD, Early on with basic tames such as a med lvl rex is doable, you can do the blue OSD easily and even with something more simple since it isn't hard
    • Yellow OSD, here you need either a very strong tame such as a high level rex or spino.
    • Red OSD, for this one you'll need an army of dinos such as rexs or spinos, this is one is really hard to as solo. I lost most of my tames while doing it, the spinos hard 20k HP and decent attack but stood no chance even when I provided support with a Velo. I managed to do it but at a high price.
    • Purple OSD, forget this one in early and mid game, you have no chance to do it, it spawns extremely high levels of Reapers,rock drakes, Alpha rexs. It does however become easy once you tame the Ice Titan since it's attack deal increased damage to corrupted dinos. I did 45 waves with ease using the titan.

    "Defeating and taming the Titans"

    ​

    Ice titan- I defeated the ice titan using an army of non imprinted rexs and a lvl 51 mek, took a while but he went down, as for the taming I used a lvl 51 mek and a 250% damage fabricted sniper. It's very easy to tame him with the mek, just make sure you jump away from his attacks and keep shooting him, he's pretty slow so avoiding the attacks is easy, shoot the corrupted nodes to tame him until there aren't any left.

    Forest titan- I used my Ice titan and my level 180 something mek for this one, he went down easily. Taming him isn't hard with a Mek, it just requires a bit of patience.

    Desert titan- I used only my high level mek for this one, I just kept spamming him from below until he went down. I didn't tame this one so I can say much about it, but I heard that this titan is pretty weak compared to the other two.

    "Defeating the king Titan"

    The fight itself is easy but due to some bugs it became a bit harder, I did the gamma King titan, I used the Alpha Ice titan and the Alpha forest titan. I didn't use any tames or the mek. The forest titan for some reason didn't respond to my whistling so I used him as a tank while I was on the Ice titan doing the main damage, the Forest titan did land 2-3 hits during the whole fight but mostly didn't do anything but distract the King Titan. Try to avoid the lava that spawns from the meteors because it does a lot of damage.

    Lightning wyvren sould do aoe in water

    Character reset on ps4

    So my friend has an account on my ps4 that was not set up with an online account. She used the offline account to play ark, had reached a high level, but when she signed into her Playstation network account, then tried to play ark it made her start over.

    Her character is still on the server and it says she is unconsciousness because no one is playing the character, is there anyway to fix this???

    Is there a way to get non-story map creatures, ie Deinonychus, Griffin, and Tropeognathus, on the story maps?

    With the release of Gen II, I'm trying an 'ultimate ark' playthrough of beating the main story and the official maps. Sadly, by doing so I miss out on the cool creatures from the modded maps.

    Is there a way to get these dinos to spawn on maps that they usually don't appear on? I've heard there's some way to do it by editing files or something, but I'm not exactly what you'd call computer literate and haven't been able to figure it out yet.

    If there's another way to add them as well, please lemme know!

    Void Wyrm Raising

    The Raising Process seems so simple compared to the actual work you put into taming one. Its literally just meat in a maewing. Easiest wyvern in the whole game to raise. lol

    What would be the stronger mount, a zombie wyvern or a bred imprinted lightning wyvern?

    Would a lightning zombie wyvern be stronger, would a bred up, imprinted lightning wyvern be the stronger choice

    Where to base on The Island (PLEASE HELP!!!)

    Hello!

    I recently started a solo ark on The Island with the goal of killing all of the bosses and ascend, which is something I have never done before, but here's my problem, I CAN'T DECIDE WHERE TO LIVE.

    A part of me wants to live on the herbivore island, but it's so far away from stuff such as organic polymer, obsidian, metal, ect.

    Another parts of me wants to live up in the hidden lake, but I've already based there many times before.

    Please, give me some suggestions!
