    Uploaded a few tames and my survivor so I could check out Lost Island and get the exclusive dinos.

    Every time I've switched maps, the first creature I've tried to download has crashed my game and I've lost that creature. So I planned for this and uploaded a sacrificial Anky because I just tamed a much higher lvl one. I get to an obelisk on Lost Island and download the decoy Anky. No crash, ok cool. Next up is my Griffin for quick travel. So far so good.

    I tempt fate one more time. I need a bodyguard while I look for the new dinos and gather resources, so I load up my 250 Rex. You already know what fucking happened, crash. But it's worse than that. I restart the game, load the file up and it's making me respawn. I make it back to obelisk eventually and Griffin is nowhere to be found and neither is my corpse, and I've already pulled my gear from the obelisk before the crash.

    This is discouraging. Like I almost don't want to play anymore discouraging. So yeah, fuck single player.

    Should I restart a new game ?

    So I bought ark and my last experience with the game was a letsplay years ago so I remember some stuff but forgot a lot.

    I tried playing a game and got to lvl 40 on the island but now I'm kinda stuck ?

    I made a house, all out of wood. But I found it ugly so I scraped it off and built a new one somewhere else. This one has other problems: because the floor isn't all at the same level, there are cracks, the roof probably won't line up well and I can get stuck behind it.

    But now I've emptied most of the rocks around the small bay in easy area 1 of the map and I'd need more to build a base.

    So here's my question, should I find rocks somewhere else ? Start a new game on a different map or start over and redo my character ?

    I'm kinda scared of the dinos in the forest (got killed by a carno or something). So I'd like to avoid this area. Is there another safe area ? Or what do I need to fight them ? I have chitin armor and a pistol but maybe could get shotgun or longneck rifle if I find enough metal.

    If I start on a new map, which one is the best for beginners ? I don't really know the other maps except a little bit of scorched earth.

    I don't really want to delete my character on the island cause it's permanent and might regret it, but if that's the best solution then I'll do it
