| Trouble hitting dinos from a flying Tapejara Posted: 13 Mar 2019 08:31 AM PDT Hi there, we're playing on a private server and just got our first Tapejara. We were excited to take it out and try to tame dinos with it, but I can't seem to hit anything from either the front or back seats. The arrows and darts poke out from the dinos I'm "hitting" but there is no damage or torpor on the targets. I read online that this seems to be a known issue, so that sucks, but does anyone have a workaround or solution to this issue? Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||

These are dinos who's eggs, claim and raising is all after the patch, so it's not related to some strange carry over during the patch. | Any plans for removing host tethering? Posted: 13 Mar 2019 09:59 AM PDT I got a Xbox One X a couple months ago and I have been able to play split screen offline with my friend with no tethering. Another friend wanted to join in, so they got on on their Xbox One, which isn't an X. It made them tether to me, but not the other person on split screen with me. Why does it still tether if a One X is hosting, and do they have plans to remove it from consoles? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Unable to find Quetzal on the island! Posted: 13 Mar 2019 09:55 AM PDT Me and my friend were looking for quetzals on the island and found about three but lost/killed all of them by accident. Now we are looking for more and we've spent about 6-8 hours yesterday and a couple today trying to find another one but we can't seem to find any. We've tried killing all wild dinos and still nothing. Is there any particular place that spawns them more frequently (I've heard about the red ob but that was a long time ago) or is there something I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated! | Posted: 13 Mar 2019 11:24 AM PDT This is probably a stupid question, but has anybody heard of a way to play without wholesale slaughter of the dinosaurs? So much of what a player needs to do involves killing dinosaurs, and my vegan girlfriend wants to play, but can't do it without killing all the animals in the zoo. lol I can't really imagine how it would work -- you know, with aggressive predators being what they are. Is there a mod or a setting to only spawn herbivores? Is there some kind of setting(s) that allow a player to minimize the dinosaur killing, but still get a full experience from the game? | Posted: 12 Mar 2019 07:59 PM PDT will the devs be looking into how to make certain colors in tooltips look more distinct for colorblind people? the new homestead update is great, but the colorblind community has trouble recognizing which of the old kibbles belongs to which of the new kibble group, since the outline/glow isn't that obvious to someone who cannot see red/green. on top of that, the background is purple, further hindering the efforts to identify what is showing up on screen. journeyman colors are almost blending into their background. I have to read the tiny description text to tell jm saddles apart if we can get a option to change the background color scheme of menus and tooltips will be nice, but any effort in darkening them will help. | How do I get permission to play Ark? Posted: 12 Mar 2019 11:45 PM PDT On PS4, Primitive Plus I can rarely log on to my unofficial server and when I can, my character is always stuck in bed either naked with and without items on hotbar, clothed with and without items on hotbar or just a black screen but I can hear everything going on in the background like fires. Sometimes it takes four or five attempts to join server and sometimes constantly fails for over an hour to join. Am I supposed to ask for permission each time I want to play or some other stupid trick to play a game I paid money for? | Hunter cave as a Main Base (island map) Posted: 12 Mar 2019 11:19 PM PDT I am looking to set a base for my tribe but we are currently struggling in our decision of where to build on the island map. We are pretty much set on a cave base but run the fear of building somewhere that will be to easily meshed. We like the idea of the hunger cave. It has many choke points for turret walls is spacious for building but have yet to pull the trigger as some of the tribe believe it is too easily meshed. We are open to any other suggestions. | Characters Getting Deleted After Transferring on Cluster Unofficial Servers Posted: 12 Mar 2019 04:15 PM PDT Hello there, me and my friends are playing an unofficial cluster ark server, my server is extinction (server based in UK). the other server is my friend's, its a Ragnarok sever (based in New York USA). The problem is that every, say, 5 transfers our character gets deleted and the character is no longer on either server. The server transfer works just fine apart from the character getting deleted, so when we transfer from say Ragnarok to Extinction our character would see the beds and be in tribe, click spawn on bed then all of a sudden we will get the character creation menu pop up. We tried clicking the download character but the character is not there, we tried re logging into the original server we transferred from and same thing greeted us with the character creation menu, click download character no option there. You can almost tell when this problem is gonna happen because when we open a drop or obelisk to travel the server will have a huge lag spike for about 30 seconds then when one of us travels, their character will be gone forever. I've searched and its seems a common problem and some people say they fixed it by editing the ini files, the notributedownloads= true and changing it to false, but our ini files are already changed to false so this doesn't work. | Posted: 13 Mar 2019 01:47 AM PDT The previous nerf was a good step in the right direction but still the speed hasn't been touched. You can't level speed in flyers anymore but here's a tame that is quicker than a PT levelled in speed and to a degree turrets especially on any server over 120 ping seem to completely ignore them. Best example is this: What the fix for this is I don't know, whether it be to nerf the speed and let them still be leveled in speed or to completely remove the ability to level speed, though even then they'll still be able to do this.
