Anyone know why Ghillie boots provide 1/3 the armor of other pieces? Posted: 03 Mar 2019 07:48 AM PST Just curious if this has ever been mentioned as a deliberate function of ghillie for some reason or if this is a long standing bug. Always has seemed strange to me that this one armor set randomly has one useless slot. *edit* to clarify, I'm specifically referring to the fact that primitive ghillie boots give 10 armor while all other pieces of ghillie give 32. This scales out to blueprints as well - an ascendant ghillie boots gives 30-40 armor while any other piece gives 150+ [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Mar 2019 10:12 PM PST Hey all, I've recently been playing around in the devkit and am experimenting with wanting to make some creature mods. Before I start finalizing things, anyone want to give me some feedback on this creature mod concept? Any tips are appreciated! Thylacine: -Found in Beaches, Jungles, Mountains, Oases, Fertile Chamber, Sanctuary, Sunken Forest -Passive Tame (eats any kind of meat.) -A small fox-like carnivore that is in truth a marsupial, the Thylacine is a passive creature that will not attack survivors unless provoked, though it may go after small tames such as Dodos or Lystrosaurus. Its natural calmness makes it easy to tame, as wild ones will happily take food from generous survivors, and will quickly grow friendly and protective towards them. Besides companionship and being a useful hunting buddy for fresh new survivors, the Thylacine, at first glance, seems relatively useless. It's small, and can fall prey to virtually anything larger than a Dilophosaur, making it a poor tame for security or defense. However, its loyalty, noble appearance, and ease of taming have made it a popular pet regardless, and it wasn't long before astute survivors began to notice that it boasted a peculiar ability. Possibly a new adaptation these creatures gained to stay out of the way of the Ark's many dangerous creatures, Thylacines have an extraordinarily sensitive sense of smell that lets them identify the most powerful beast in the area from a good distance away (i.e. the highest leveled wild creature). Many taming enthusiasts have trained their Thylacines to lead them to the highest leveled creature in their vicinity, which has made them not only popular companions, but a must have for those on the look out for the strongest beasts one can get. In addition, some breeders have found that the Thylacine can specially regulate the temperature inside its pouch, making it be able to perfectly incubate eggs inside - though unfortunately only smaller ones can fit. You won't be hatching rexes with this, but you can make one heck of a dodo farm! -Can choose "Guide toward powerful creatures" in the radial menu, or with a new emote. The Thylacine will walk ahead of you to guide you in the direction of the highest level wild creature in its range. (If you walk away, it will follow you instead.) A green aura surrounding the Thylacine will show that it's in hunting mode. -Smell range is based on level - the higher levelled the Thylacine, the wider its smell range. Its ability to find high-level creatures is not linked to any one stat. -If you don't like the creature it leads you to, simply cancel the current hunt and start again - if it has picked up a higher-leveled creature, it will head towards that instead. -The Thylacine's targets are determined by level, not stats - if a level 150 Dodo is standing next to a level 149 Rex, the Thylacine will lead you to the Dodo. -Also has a "Pointer Mode" - it will simply stand still, and point with its nose in the direction of the closest high leveled creature. Put the little guy on a platform saddle and simply walk in the direction that it points - this is especially useful if you're chasing a dangerous quarry, as Thylacines don't have much health! -Will automatically incubate smaller eggs placed in its pouch (i.e. saddle slot), though can't fit those of large creatures. Anyone else having issues with bed ? Posted: 03 Mar 2019 04:27 AM PST Hey, I host a lan server for two people and its driving us insane. We either lose our tribe and now the beds are broken. When we transfer to another map our beds either dont show up on the spawn screen or we cant spawn in them. When clicking on the bed the only option is "spawn survivor" and that spawns us in the wild. However, if we spawn in a random location, die and re spawn, we can spawn in our bed. The beds are not on cooldown, have replaced them and have tried vanilla and modded beds. Any ideas? Posted: 02 Mar 2019 08:59 PM PST I played this game for almost 2k hours but have put it down for a good year or so. I recently joined up with some guys, we went to an empty server on normal, and everything was fine for a couple days. Then a bunch of chinese showed up who had a base there and wiped us. Then we went to a new empty server and on the first day some guy attacks us on a high level bird. We killed him but we're expecting a big raid at any time. Now I don't mind the concept of server transfers and big tribes killing everyone, but I don't like the fact that it looks like "everyone" is, well, just us. I feel like as soon as 5 or 6 of us are on the server then bored alpha tribes notice and start flying in the scouts. This tribe is too big to do the small tribes, but i was thinking about striking out and giving it a go. Are server transfers allowed between the small tribe servers? Is the same mentality of "get 30 turrets up in 3 days or dont even bother" still there on the small tribe servers? [link] [comments]
Haven't played in 2 Years What are some things I should know Posted: 02 Mar 2019 07:13 PM PST As the title says I have played in quite some time. Was wondering what things I should know in terms of balance. Before I quit guns were pretty bad especially the AR, and there were A LOT of significantly overpowered things within the game dinos being the main offender. In terms of balance what positives have come out? Any good buffs/nerfs Please and thank you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Mar 2019 12:58 PM PST So, I've been breeding dire bears up. If I have a decent saddle, health and Damage. What are the chances they would be able to kill the Brood and Megapithicus? Anyone try this? Dragon I'll do Rhinos. Thanks in advance!!! [link] [comments] |
