| Single Player - Recommended Boss Fight Order? Posted: 02 May 2019 11:31 AM PDT Just wondering if anyone has two cents on what order someone should try soloing through boss fights. Titans on Extinction first? Manticore first? The gorilla dude first? Any recommendations? Starting with some good rexes bred and a semi crappy Yuty (202lvl post breed). No tech gear. | Ele ore farming on the surface Posted: 02 May 2019 10:58 AM PDT So I'm only here making this post after finding mixed opinions on YouTube. What exactly do I need to do a big haul on the surface for ele ore. All of the videos on youtube seem to be pre reaper buff. Some people have told me that a crab anky and 3 megs are what you need to safely farm the surface but that just seems a little much to me I have a 21k hp 850 melee meg would that be sufficient for a surface run assuming all 3 of my tames have riders on them ( crab anky and meg) or should I be bringing more megs [link] [comments]  | ||

| Idea for a flight mechanic update. Posted: 01 May 2019 04:52 PM PDT Personally I find flyers to be extremely boring to ride in this game, as it doesn't really feel like you're flying. The Snow Owl and Griffin are definitely the best as far as that goes because of their dive bomb. Hell, riding the Rock Drake, which doesn't technically fly at all, feels more like flying than any of the flyers do. So here are my ideas to completely overhaul how flyers work. Flapping VS Gliding: In real life, birds don't flap 100% of the time that they're in the air. Rather they flap to take off and get to their desired altitude and then glide from there; only occasionally flapping to speed up and keep from dropping to their death. This how flyers should work in Ark too. So starting on the ground, you would simply hold down the Shift Key (using keyboard controls as that's what I'm familiar with) and start moving forward. This would cause the flyer to start flapping and take off. Then when you get high enough you can let go of Shift, tilt slightly downward and start gliding (which would use up significantly less stamina than flapping). With these mechanics, you could of course dive bomb for a much larger speed boost than flapping. Meanwhile, not holding your movement key while holding Shift, will cause you to come to a stop and start hovering in place. Grabbing: With the above flapping/gliding mechanics, I feel picking up players or dinos with an Argent or the likes may get a bit harder if it works how it currently does. So my solution would be to make it a targeted ability. Basically you would hold down the grab button, bringing up a crosshair. When aiming at a dino small enough to grab, you let go of the button, causing your flyer to lock on and swoop down to pick it up. However this shouldn't necessarily be a 100% lock-on ability as to allow for players to dodge it for PVP balance purposes. Rather it should just be a fast paste swoop to the targeted creature, which will get picked up if it stays within a reasonable distance of where it was when initially targeted. So i´m breeding animals and wondering a bit if the stats i need to continue breeding animals are the starting stats of a baby or when it is fully grown up as i noticed the stats change a LOT during that period of time. | Posted: 01 May 2019 06:39 PM PDT Just curious if anyone else has had this issue or any other ideas to fix the problem. Nitrado hosted xbox server. A few months ago we had a going away event for our old admin, one person won a reaper as a prize. We were rotating ab/island/scorched on that server in the cluster. So admin turns ab on, gets him impregnated and raises it afterwards. Switches the map back to the one in rotation. Couple weeks go by and we started to notice no queens would spawn. Tried doing dino wipes and nothing helped. Only way they would spawn is admin commands. We shrugged it off and just let the rotation continue. About a month ago with one of the updates we lost the save files for all the maps on that server and everything got put back to day one. But still no reapers would spawn. Weve tried spawning them in down in the red zone where they usually are and killing them to try and reset the spawns. Multiple dino wipes. Not sure if theres a command to target them specifically to wipe or not. Last resort is to completely reset the map. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  | ||

However, dinos still spawn in fancy colors on my private server. I did a dino wipe, same results. Will it deactivate automatically depending on local server time, or with an upcoming patch? | Items not transferring from Rag to Aberration.... Posted: 01 May 2019 08:23 PM PDT I'm running local servers using ASM, only running one server at a time. I have foreign dinos enabled and they transfer fine, and most regular and some modded items transfer fine. But salt, sulphur and preserving salt don't, nor does gasoline, sparkpowder or propellant? | Stuck on Validating/Installing Posted: 01 May 2019 05:02 PM PDT For the past 2 hours, ARK has been validating, then installing, then repeating. I've restarted steam and unsubscribed from all my mods and it's still doing it. Not sure if this is useful, but I also did just buy the Season pass. I'm going to reboot my PC, but I'd appreciate some help! Edit: I resolved the issue. Apparently my hard drive was pretty low on space, should have checked that first. I deleted every steam game except for ARK and then deleted everything from the steamapps/downloading folder, and this solved the issue. [link] [comments]  | ||
