- Summer Event is pretty cool. The queen was of normal coloration so this was quite a surprise.

| I hope you knock the Halloween Event this year out of the park. Posted: 18 Jul 2019 06:56 PM PDT I've played ARK since 2015. I've enjoyed all of the expansions, most of the content updates, the free DLC maps, all of it. I've left and come back so many times, sunk so many hours in to this game... it's unreal to think about. This game defies all logic in terms of my commitment to it on a long enough timeline. I've made plenty of posts and raised stink in the past over so many issues, so many design flaws, so many things I dislike but at the core of it, it's always been for one reason and one reason only - I just want to improve the game in whatever way, because I enjoy playing it so much. That's really all it ever is. When I think about the times I've enjoyed the MOST in ARK, it's always the holiday themed events. Sadly, though, my memories of the game before it was "officially" released are better than actual post-release in this regard, and I'm not sure why. For me, the original Fear Evolved event stood out. It was my favorite by a mile. I still play the Halloween theme from YouTube in the background sometimes while I play, I enjoy it so much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IugGk1OfA2E The event items and skins were great. The Dodorex was probably a bit too imbalanced but the concept of him was perfect - night time comes, the Dodorex silhouette shows up, you wonder if tonight's your night to be his dinner. Again, probably not really balanced at the time, but the concept was still really effective. It was actually scary. The super elite Dodo wyvern was also a bit much, but same deal. Very efficient at it's job. The Skeleton Skins were so neat. I was very disappointed when they became "freebie trash" skins, because at the time they had some real prestige. It was genuinely fun to hunt for the bone Rexes and Gigas for their skins. It added a loot chase to every day dinos we just don't normally have. I get the appeal for "everyone can enjoy it" events like this 4th of July one. Meat for skins, yeah that's not really a gate at all. And I see the place for that in the scheme of things, I understand you want everyone to enjoy the event equally. THAT BEING SAID, difficult to acquire, exclusive skins and trophies are really fucking fun and cool. The Halloween event had the best ones you've ever implemented, and oddly enough it was before the game had even launched. Revisit it. Give us something special. Add in those chase skins and trophies. Give us some things that bump in the night to fear again. Make them spawn where wild gigas are supposed to spawn or something, so we're already watching our ass. Maybe toss in some new Bone skins to shake it up. Bone Yutys? Bone Squids? Bone Deinos? Bone Tapes? Maybe something entirely new Skin-wise? Who knows. All I'm saying is, Fear Evolved was the best holiday-themed content you've ever produced. Here's hoping you splash something in that honors it some day. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 19 Jul 2019 11:29 AM PDT or is it just me? i'm currently attempting to breed a 0 point 0 mutation line for mass breeding my rhinos so it's easier to spot unwanted mutations, scrub out unwanted stats like speed and oxy, and eventual merging of stats. a quick google leads me to believe i'm the first to do this any other attempts out there? | Posted: 18 Jul 2019 08:08 PM PDT So i will preface this with i know "When in doubt, throw it out" applies here buuuuuuut. I play on Official Servers on one of the ORP Clusters. As we all know cave blocking and more specifically artifact cave blocking are rampant across the ORP clusters. Nothing can be done when the tribe just logs in for half a second to refresh demo timers when nobody is on the server. GM's wont do anything unless you have proof of the blocking tribe being a proxy even though you literally cant do anything PvP related if ORP is enabled. My dilemma is on my map one of the artifact caves is blocked. I ran out of the artifacts from that cave. I have had my suspicions that this tribe has and is duping due to when they joined the server within a week they had about 80(approx) tek turrets and other tek items built within the cave. If i can find a way to get in contact with them and have them hand me artifacts from that cave and those artifacts have been duped...if i report them and they are found to be duping will i be banned as well for having a "duped" item(artifact)? Its the only feasible way to get the artifact since i can never catch them online to clear them out of there. Also i remember reading somewhere long ago in the patch notes that ORP wont kick in if built in artifact caves. This is not the case. In fact i think its broken. I have seen many times and even looted offline tribes that have previously built in these artifact caves. Two storage chests right next to each other, one is ORP the other isnt. Two metal gates next to each other, one is ORP, the other isnt. Its so random. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 19 Jul 2019 04:32 AM PDT So on the PvE Cluster that I am a part of, we have the S+ Mutator and I have used it on the Reapers to assign them the correct genders, along with allow breeding on all of them. The problem I am having is that, the breeding meter ping pongs back and forth, not really completing at all, but after a bit they go on breeding cooldown, and there is no baby reapers, no gestation timer, no nothing. I have tried putting them on a platform above the ground, on the ground, in water, ect. with no prevail. What am I doing wrong, does the server admin have to change some INI setting, ect. for it to properly work? Thanks in advance to those who respond! <3 [link] [comments]  | ||

My tribemate and I have a trap made and so far we just use mid level baby wyverns as bait and we have tamed them up solo just fine. Just how many could be tamed up at once?
