Posted: 24 Jul 2019 10:54 AM PDT Add alpha variants to the map. Add giga's to the map. Add additional ways to gather rare flowers. Increase drop chance and quantity of black pearls to deathworms loot pool. Only way to get them on this map. Rebalance cave crate loot. Right now it's basically desert cloth, camel and mantis saddles and boomerrangs. Remove generator decay if built within Adobe and tek structures. Increase heatwave duration in order to have better chances of even finding a pheonix. Add ascension to SE(big pipe dream). Add unique tek engram to manticore if no Ascension is implement. Fix wyvern scar nests/alcoves. There's over 50 alcoves for nests to spawn. Yet only the same 8 to 9 ever spawn a nest. Allow water pipes to be able to connect to water veins/Wells to run irrigation from. Increase deathworms spawn count in desert. Expand or add more caves. Currently it's laughable compared to every other map. Mountain and plataue tops should always be 100% wind. Slight increase to ovis spawn rate. Rebalance always x2 harvesting rates. It only applies to random patches of the map. It's not everywhere as it's supposed to be. Rebalance all supply and deep sea crates to include newer map's loot. If I can get scuba and fur gear from a desert map supply drop and deep sea crate I should be able to get all the other stuff as well. [link] [comments] | ||
Weird frost/freezing sound in snow area? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 07:03 AM PDT So while flying through some of the snow areas of valguero, I keep hearing an almost permanent freezing-like sound. Posted: 24 Jul 2019 10:02 AM PDT It will be 3 years on the 28th...this patch went live July 28th 2016 and there have been no further patches or changes since then....I went through every single archived patch note. Pinlocking still is enabled for gates and doors....this needs to be adjusted to disabled. And caves...specifically artifact caves still are orp protected. I have screenshots of how busted this is. Specifically I have a cave in southern desert on scorched Earth. Two metal gates side by side to each other. One has ORP status the other doesn't. The one that doesn't have ORP listed as a status cannot be dmg'd by any means. In the northern artifact cave on scorched Earth,a tribe has built a 1x1 right next to the artifact, it shows no ORP protection but you can't damage it or blow it up, 1 wall has ORP preventing c4 to be placed and the other 6 metal pieces that don't have ORP status listed cannot be dmg'd by any means. Posted: 24 Jul 2019 09:34 AM PDT So I usually take a Deino out and set it to follow me and to nuetral. At random point in wandering around the map I'll jump off and find my Deino running away and not being on follow. When I quickly whistle for it to follow me and it comes back I find it's set to passive flee. I specifically set it this way in case a raptor, purlovia or thyla or micro raptor knocks me off. It randomly being changed to passive flee is infuriating. Is anyone else experiencing this while playing Valguero? It only happens on this map. Edit: PC, official ORP PvP server. Posted: 24 Jul 2019 09:02 AM PDT My Buddy and I want to make a cluster server for us to travel between for obvious reasons, but haven't been able to get it to work properly. He's done everything that all the tutorials have said, said he did everything to the T, but the map we wanna travel to still isn't showing up in the cluster list. We've been using LogMeIn Hamachi to connect to his server so I'm not certain if that would play a role into why we can't connect to this map. But Any Help is massively appreciated! Is small tribes worse for solo players? Posted: 24 Jul 2019 11:11 AM PDT I'm want to discuss the reality of official servers only. It seems to me that Small Tribes population is way more aggressive than regular servers. The increased rates only provide raiders to faster ways of getting raiding tools, and I've been attacked every single day since I started in one of these servers. On the other hand, regular servers seems to be ok as long as you don't mess up with the Alpha Tribes. I've survived way longer than in Small Tribes, but when I got inevitably wiped, it hurt way more due to the low rates. On the other hand, PVE servers are a lost cause. Everything is pillared, claimed and capped. Looks like there is no place for someone wanting to have some fun, solo, much less aspiring to get to Tek tier someday. What are your thoughts? Adding creatures to spawn areas quick guide (PS4 - nitrado) Posted: 24 Jul 2019 12:38 AM PDT I've been getting a lot of PM's about how to make new creatures naturally spawn in maps they may not naturally be a part of. So I'll do a basic guide to help others who may have the same question. First of all, a few issues that will come up: If you have a single character added in the wrong spot, or an extra space somewhere in the syntax, it can stop the rest of the code from working completely. Some creatures do not have models in the game data on maps they don't exist on or there's not a way to have them naturally spawn. For example, you can't make deathworms spawn on extinction as they were removed from the map. Same for making a lot of the bosses spawn in the overworld. As of a couple months ago, the Reaper Queen could not be added as a natural spawn on consoles outside of Aberration. Valguero fixes this issue. Creatures like Rock Drakes can be added to maps like Valguero BUT there isn't a way for them to lay eggs as (afaik) the nest data was removed. Think of it as they do not have a place to actually lay an egg. Creatures like the Basilisk can be added but without Fert Rock Drakes to feed them, they are untamable. There isn't a way around this. Sometimes adding a creature to two spawn entries (locations) can bug out the code. It's an ark thing i guess? Okay, now for the fun part. I will be including sample code for valguero and giving brief instructions on how to modify the actual code properly. Sample code:
Replace the part under NPCSpawnEntriesContainerClassString with the area from the following page: https://ark.gamepedia.com/Spawn_Entries#Valguero Replace AnEntryName with an easy to remember name for the creature, try not to use any spaces. Replace BOTH the NPCsToSpawnStrings and NPCSpawnLimits with the ENTITY ID from this page: https://ark.gamepedia.com/Creature_IDs As far as the EntryWeight and MaxPercentageOfDesiredNumToAllow goes, this controls how often this creature will spawn. A higher EntryWeight (up to 1.0) means it will have higher priority over other creatures when spawning. The MaxPercentage means how many can spawn in that location as compared to other creatures. (Higher than 1.0 doesn't really do anything from my testing). Always start lower then increase to test. In the above example, that would add the Managarmr to the SnowPlains area of Valguero. This code will be added in your game.ini setting on your server (enable expert mode on nitrado). OR if you prefer not to use expert mode: "Copy the text and paste it at the bottom section on your Nitrado dashboard under engine settings." This method can cause issues as Nitrado cuts off code after a certain character limit when you're not using expert mode. Now, here is some example code to add in more than one creature to a spawn location:

You can see how the syntax is and add in more creatures to a spawn by just looking at the pattern and following it. Generally I don't add more than three as it will mess up the natural spawn order of that area. Now, to add multiple areas back to back, just simply add a line break after one block of code and then place the next one down. Rinse and repeat. I also have a few open spots on my server that will be opening up this weekend (Valguero - PvE/PvP - Friendly) that will have modified spawns, stacking changes (1k hide per stack for example) and a lot of other quality of life changes. Posted: 23 Jul 2019 09:50 PM PDT So, before i go (more) nuts in Google can someone verify if this actually works if inserted in GameUserSettings.ini or Game.ini [/Script/Engine.GameSession] MaxPlayers=30 I have found posts through the years that say it works great and others that say it doesn't work at all. I am attempting to keep my command line as clean as possible since i run my maps as Linux services and I prefer having as little as possible that may need modifying in the daemon scripts.
