    I just installed ark again and have been playing the past two days, mainly today and wow, rates are crazy now. I'm level 63 while doing nothing but running around taming random things and building an incredibly half assed base out of mostly stone.

    I remember when it would take weeks to get anywhere close to 70 of just casual playing. Now I damn near slept my way to it.

    I really feel like I've been playing on a booster server the past couple days. I know it's the evolution event or whatever right now but even back when I played and we had those it was no where near this crazy..

    Idk, rant rabble rabble back in my day yadda yadda. Feels weird playing on official now.

    I started writing a novelization of my experiences in Ark: Survival Evolved. Currently we have a handful of posts and my ex-wife posted her first entry. It would be amazing to expand this to other Ark players who want to join us in our journey and we'd love any feedback from fellow Arkers. We're finally joined by my ex-wife's character, so now posts will alternate between the two authors until we find more. I tried to bring the fear at the beginning to life for all of us. We have some amazing stuff coming up in the journey.

    1- Why prehistoric creatures? Its safe to assume that every single creature are transgenic and neogenetic creatures, except for maybe a few exceptions (Reaper? Rock Drake? The new animals in Extinction?), so all of them were designed by choice. Does this just mean that ALL of Earth's fauna just wasn't recoverable?

    And yeah I know the non-lore reason: because dinosaurs are cool, but I'm hoping we still get at least SOME reason, no matter how handwavy it is.

    2- Why pull people from different parts of Earth's past onto the ARKs? We know its strongly implied that they're all just clones of people that lived before, but are they actual clones? Or are those memories completely fabricated, where the Homo Dei just collectively sat down and thought "okay, let's start making shit up. So there's this biologist and she's from, uhhhh...Australia, right?"

    Maybe all the early human generations on the ARKs were, like Santiago and Dianna, all from Earth's 22nd century, from people that maybe bought a place on the ARKs before they lifted off. But they all started dying off, so the Homo Dei had to start making more human minds from scratch, or just say "fuck it" and pull back into time to snatch an imprint from earlier humans.

    So, first he bear traps me, I call him out on VC he just giggles uncontrolably, I wait for it to end. It's down to twenty, THIS BITCH. Logs on, repairs it,logs off, ok I'll wait again, down to 19, THIS BITCH logged on again, repaired, left, I thought ok this guys an arse, I log off, play some gta, log back, THIS BITCH, now I'm handcuffed, in a cage, and surrounded by bear traps. Just gotta love pve. Little does he know that, well I'm not gonna be as nice as him to log off. Oh no, I know the other members hate this boy, do ima die, Ima grab my emergency beneath the floor cuffs and cage, dont ask, and get this bitch, and ima put a, dont unlock its revenge sign.

    Character Gone (not because of transfer)

    ARK is acting like I haven't played, my favorite servers list is empty and they're prompting me to create new survivors. I've restarted steam and ARK to no luck. I did not transfer a character recently, I launched the game without internet and cloud data once is that really enough to make the game suddenly forget everything?

    Revamping Official PvP Part 1

    *Decided to write this due to the stale state of official PvP at the moment\*

    I. Removal of Meks, Tek Rifle Changes, and Titan Changes

    With the release of Extinction, the introduction of meks has tipped the power scales in PvP. Being extremely versatile has placed meks on par with some of the strongest dinosaurs. High level meks offer great damage against tames, structures, and other meks. With that being said, they should be removed and changes such as these should be made.

    • Property 'turret detection' added to foundations, pillars, cliff plats, etc (spam structures that prevent other structures from being placed).
    • 'Turret detection' range is 150% of the high range of turrets in a 360 degree rotation.
    • If the 'turret detection' is less than 10, structure takes the following:

      • 70% increased damage from explosives for metal structures and below.
      • Tek Grenade base damage to tek structures set to 1,500, 300 for non-tek structures.
      • Tek Grenades deal (base damage + 90% of current health of tek structure , is 1 tek grenade per unprotected tek foundation)
      • Tek Grenade recipe changed from:

        1 Element -> 2 element 40 Crystal -> 25 Crystal 10 Cementing Paste -> 25 Cementing Paste 30 Metal Ingot -> 40 Metal Ingot 30 Polymer -> 25 Polymer 60 Gunpowder -> 50 Element Dust 

    With meks removed, the tek rifle will receive buffs that will allow players to use it to combat enemy titans. From increased range to percent damage, the tek rifle will be a player's primary weapon for defending against Titans.

    Tek Rifle revamped to become one of the weapons used to fight against titans.

    • Tek Rifles can no longer damage structures.
    • Tek Rifle range increased to match the range Mek Pistols used to have.
    • Tek Rifle damage revamped into tiers based off weapon quality.
    • Tek Rifles no longer rapid fire. They take x-amount of seconds to charge up their shot (based off item quality).
    • Tek Rifles crafted durability removed. They now dissolve based off item quality.
    • Tek Rifles no longer consume element to fire. They now consume element shards to fire.
      • Primitive - 0.15% of Titan's current health / 1 shards per shot & 2.6 second charge up / dissolves after 200 shots
      • Ramshackle - 0.3% of Titan's current health / 2 shards per shot & 2.8 second charge up / dissolves after 225 shots
      • Apprentice - 0.45% of Titan's current health / 3 shards per shot & 3.0 second charge up / dissolves after 250 shots
      • Journeyman - 0.6% of Titan's current health / 4 shards per shot & 3.2 second charge up / dissolves after 275 shots
      • Mastercraft - 0.75% of Titan's current health / 5 shards per shot & 3.4 second charge up / dissolves after 300 shots
      • Ascendant - 0.9% of titan's current health / 6 shards per shot & 3.6 second charge up / dissolves after 325 shots

    Titan class should bring value to the table besides health, while balancing out their strengths in PvP. Check out some rework ideas for titans below. Also, the desert titan deserves some cool mechanics and love to.

    • Titan base health set to:
      • Gamma: 250,000
      • Beta: 450,000
      • Alpha: 650,000

    • Ice Titan changes (reworked to limit strength & give survivablilty):

      • Snowball ability can only be used once every 10 seconds.
      • Ice breath ability can only be used once every 4 seconds.
      • Freeze duration for tamed dinosaurs and players -> 8 seconds
      • Freeze Immunity for tamed dinosaurs and players -> 16 seconds
      • *New effect: Ice titan leap cripples enemies affected by the AoE damage. Reducing their movement speed by 25% and damage output by 10% for 10 seconds.
      • Tamed dinosaurs and players affected by cripple status effect are immune to it for 20 seconds.
      • Ice Titan leap ability cooldown -> 3 seconds after landing
      • Ice Titan heals for 0.1% of it's maximum health per dino and player affected by its leap ability.
    • Desert Titan changes (reworked into better supporter titan):

      • Flock offensive abilities removed.
      • Desert titan holds flocks and gains extra flock per 20 seconds:
        • Gamma: 5 flock charges and regains 1 flock per 20 seconds.
        • Beta: 10 flock charges and regains 1 flock per 20 seconds.
        • Alpha: 15 flock charges and regains 1 flock per 20 seconds.
      • Flock can be used on ally tame and provide defensive bonuses and reflects damage against enemy tames & players.
        • Defensive bonus:
        • Gamma: reduce 10% of incoming damage for 15 seconds.
        • Beta: reduce 30% of incoming damage for 15 seconds.
        • Alpha: reduce 50% of incoming damage for 15 seconds.
        • Reflect damage:
        • Gamma: reflects 10% of incoming damage for 15 seconds.
        • Beta: reflects 20% of incoming damage for 15 seconds.
        • Alpha: reflects 30% of incoming damage for 15 seconds.
    • Lightning effect:

      • Damage changed ->
        • Gamma: 0.5% of target's maximum health per second for 5 seconds (damage per lightning tick capped at 3,000)
        • Beta: 1% of target's maximum health per second for 5 seconds (damage per lightning tick capped at 3,000)
        • Alpha: 2% of target's maximum health per second for 5 seconds (damage per lightning tick capped at 3,000)
      • New Effect: Ally speed boost for allies that are zapped by lightning.
        • Speed boost amount:
        • Gamma: 10% movement speed bonus
        • Beta: 20% movement speed bonus
        • Alpha 30% movement speed bonus
    • Forest Titan:

      • Grab range halved.
      • Can no longer grab large tames such as Gigas and Brontos.
      • No longer roots ally tames and players.
      • Shielding ability: (15 second duration / 1 minute cooldown)
        • Gamma: Damage Reduction 20% / heals for 1% of damage taken while shielding
        • Beta: Damage reduction 50% / heals for 2% of damage taken while shielding.
        • Alpha: Damage reduction 80% / heals for 3% of damage taken while shielding

    How to stop a specific dino spawning?

    Me and my friend have been playing ark on an unnoficial non dedicated sever on ps4 and we are building a bunch of rafts to travel on. But everytime we build one it gets destroyed by a leedsichthys and we want to stop them spawning. Iv researched it and all that it says is to change the game ini. If that's the only way how do I change the game ini on ps4.?
