so I'm a solo player trying to build up on small tribes but it's hard to find a hidden location so I found a nice hidden rock at the edge of the map and I built a raft there and I'm thinking about making a motorboat design and putting some turrets on it and making it my main base I will keep it a hidden location but I'm not sure what's your opinions should I do it?

Platform saddles

I have a plesiosaurus with a platfrom saddle. Benches on it's back. Me riding the plesiosaurus and my tribemate sitting on the bench. If a shark, mosa or something comes, does it damage my tribemate directly or has to go through plesiosaurus's health? I hope it's understendable.

How to escape being a prisoner?

Ark x Game of thrones fic questions for reference.

So, I'm looking for some basic scales of creatures form Ark to use in a fic I'm hashing the plot out for. To put basics out there, the world of Game of thrones is the extreme far future of Ark. None of the Game of Thrones humans even have any legends or myths that concern the Arks. After the Arks landed, the world over time became Atlas, before, as even more time passed, it changed into the game of thrones world. It's that far in the future.

While the world is the same as the show, small changes exist. The doom of valyria was due to them messing with some remaining ark tech. Creatures from the time of the Arks can be found in statis cells as eggs, but are rarer than dragon eggs.

The animals I needs the scales of are:

Managarmr = Robb will get one of these

Rock Drake = Arya will find an egg

Snow Owl = Bran will befriend one

Basilisk = will be bred by Dorne once found

Atlas Hydra = Yara will tame one

Deinonychus = will be uncommon tames of essos

Brood mother Lysrix = Varys tames it

Rock/Ice golems = found north of the wall

Ice Titan = Jon Snow tames it

Desert Titan = OC / self insert-ish character tames it in Sothoryos

King Titan = is the Drowned God and very hungry after Euron awakes it.

Would love to have some sizes so I can accurately scale Drogon and his brothers. While this fic will have battles between beasts, I hope to keep to the intrigue in the plot as well.

Some notes: Tek metal is Valkyan steel. There will be no guns. The various gods are the last Surviors who hijacked the overseers system, gaining immortality.

ARK: Addiction Evolved.

This is something i have wanted to write for a long time but didn't want to due to the backlash from the die-hard Ark community, but with time on my hands during isolation and lots of time to think about it all, i thought id finally share it, in hopes maybe this post will help some others struggling with the same issue.

Backstory:

Me and my best friend had been bro's since high school, we have online gamed since the days of the Halo: combat evolved and Runescape classic. We used to spend many of our summers gaming and it was a huge bond for our relationship, not only this we were bro's in real life and have experienced lots of stuff growing up together.

The beginning:

I had been keeping my eye on Ark for a long time, I even played during Beta testing. The concept of the game amazed me, the game was the first of its kind and had endless limitless possibilities, the fact it was set in pre-historic times with dinosaurs was just the icing on the cake.

I played a hell of a lot on release and actually started isolating myself away from real life because i was so damn addicted to this game but it was winter time so i didn't feel bad about it.

The Introduction:

I had been telling my best friend about this game for a long time but he refused to play because he didn't really game much anymore, eventually i ended up buying him a copy for his birthday so i could finally have someone to play with, so we played.

The ability to play this game with a friend opened up a whole new level of game play and experiences and it was the most fun we had in our lives since playing Halo which had been unmatched until that day!

We were addicted!

The Realisation:

Slowly as we played this game everyday for weeks then months, now years. I slowly began noticing that it was affecting my real life.

I was forgetting to eat, struggling to sleep, leaving the house had become bizarre to me, i had brain fog, my vision was deteriorating as well as my social interactions.

I even spoke to my friend about this but he didn't see it, or maybe he did but just didn't want to admit it?

I had gotten to the point where i wanted out but i couldn't escape, how could i leave all my dinosaurs to die? what about the base i had built over 2 years, i couldn't just abandon it? how could i tell my friend i want to quit?

The Hiatus:

I had slowly been pulling myself away from ARK only going online to maintain for a couple of hours here and there but i still couldn't stop playing fully, I actually found enjoyment in playing casual more on a sort of role play type of gameplay.

My friend noticed my lack of devotion to the game and decided he was going to join a 30 man clan because i didn't have the same ambition as he did in game.

Deep down i knew he did this because me and him playing as a duo was limiting his ability to progress. He was becoming power hungry, the way he interacted with me had changed, the way he treated players on the game was different, he wanted to be the best, own the server.

I refused to join him, we parted ways, i was left with our base and tames, but we agreed to be friendly.

My escape:

Months had past, my friend had now become the leader of the 30 man clan. Wiping other clans from the server, dominating.

I still played casually because i was still addicted to this stupid game but now sat there alone, desolate in the old base protected through the relationship we had, I no longer even wanted to play but could not stop playing, the thought of letting all my hard work disappear still killed me inside.

I had little to zero interaction with my best friend anymore, sometimes he would fly over to the base and not say anything, I guess to check up on me but it had become awkward and strange.

until one day he flew over, he sat on his dragon for a few minutes before picking me up and soaring me into the sky.

From above i could see 15 more dragons heading towards my base.

He held me above my base and made me watch as his clan destroyed everything i had worked for, years of work, everything i had maintained, gone. All of my tames killed one by one.

Once they were done he dropped me to the ground, watching me as a fell to my demise.

I had been betrayed by my best friend or had i been saved?

It was over, I was finally free.

I don't have to play this stupid game anymore.

The End:

It has now been 2 years since i quit ark and nobody has seen my friend in real life, he has lost all concept of reality and no longer has social interactions, he is a grown man but his mum now looks after him like he is a child while he consistently still plays ARK.

All of his old real friends have moved on in life, they have houses, families, careers some are even travelling the world.

My friend has nothing but ARK: Addiction Evolved.

I would just like to stress this is a true story that I wrote in a more dramatised way to make it less boring to read although every part is true. I wrote this so people can talk about their addiction and discuss it with others struggling with the same issues, I am hoping the developers see this and change the way the game functions to avoid things like this damaging players real lives.

Please ban cheaters.

Almost every tribe on my server has been wiped by these cheaters. Besides an aimbotter (I have proof), they are able to shoot magmasaur entirely through our turrets and base walls. We submitted a ticket, but we need someone from the devs to take action fast. Tribe name is Tribe of Dt, server is Genesis small tribes 97. Almost nobody plays on server now due to these people. They joined just a few days ago and wiped all the big tribes with exploits.

LF 2 EU tribemates for small tribes

Hi all, I run a 4 man group (NA) on small tribes.

We are built up and looking to add 2 English speaking EU players to our family. We are tight nit and have a work hard play hard mentality with the game.

Prefer experience playing at the end game but if you're a good learner and trustworthy I wouldn't mind helping with that. Requirements are

-20+ years old. (I'm a 29 year old dad with full time job, prefer someone who can relate)

-At least 1k hours on official (Will waive in certain cases

Xbox Play Anywhere rendering issue

So i play the game on Xbox one X normally, but when the wife wants to use the TV, i boot up the trusty gaming PC and try to play on my Play Anywhere version of ARK.

I also own it for steam and my PC runs the game on high settings very well, no issues. But the play anywhere version seems to have huge rendering issues and i cannot figure out how to fix them after googling extensively, i also contacted support with no response.

The primary problem, and this is also happening to my two friends that are playing play anywhere, is rocks and rock-like resources are no visually appearing but still physically there, so you keep "stuttering because the game knows there is a rock, but you cant actually see it. Also caves do not want to render the inside so you just end up in a hole under the world, but with the same effect, you cannot see the inside of the cave or any dinos, but you still bounce off the walls like they are there. But i can see trees and bushes for miles.

I have tried a fresh install, updating all my drivers, playing on lowest to highest settings, and mixing in between, but cannot for the life of me fix this. does anyone know how to help me get this sorted out?

alpha dino vs underwater base

according to this page it says only corrupted and enraged can damage these but enraged are the alpha dinos of extinction and has been treated like so during events involving alphas

so now my question is...can an alpha shark from the island break it? has anybody tried on official?

When dinos teleport after falling through the mesh, where do they teleport?

Just had a baby fall through the mesh or something, it just straight up vanished, so im assuming it teleported somewhere. Does anyone know? Map is extinction, no mods.
