    The Guide to being overpowered anywhere that's not a cave; direwolves

    For those who don't know, the buffs on Direwolves are nuts. With a 1.2x pack multiplier (Total of 5 direwolves), a 1.5x howl multiplier from the pack leader, and a 1.33x mate boost multiplier means you'll deal 79 damage per bite. This means a [theoretical] Direwolf at level 1 with only 100% attack power can do nearly 80 damage. If they're all level 1 save for the pack leader, That's equivalent to each pack bite doing nearly a Giga's bite in damage.

    Now on top of them doing a bare minimum of like 80 damage a bite (18 more than a Rex's bite by default at 62) - Their pack also gets damage REDUCTIONS. The howl brings it down to a 0.75x multiplier, mate adds a 0.66 multiplier, to under half damage.

    So a pack of base Direwolves can do more damage than a T-Rex, and take only half damage. Which is fuckin nuts. I totally didn't lose level 260 & 230 Direwolves I had tamed from level 145/140 to a pack of pretty low level wolves, not at all. Not bitter either, why do you ask?

    Considering a high level tame can get 3-4x damage just on the tame alone, we're talking like 240-300 damage on a 300% melee tamed Direwolf and 315-400 damage on a 400% tame (depending on if you have a Yutyr)

    This isn't even assuming you go for a Battle Mount and get them high level. With a solid damage tame, As a War Mount their damage can exceed 1000-1200% with 15,000+ hp on "Vanilla" slider settings. Doing the math on that it means you can pump out damage numbers of 800/870/950 damage. You can near double a Gigas, without a Yutyr.

    You could go even higher than double a Giga's damage if you are willing to sacrifice health for damage. Sacrificing health for damage and "only" ending around 10k health, you're looking at a damage of probably 3x a Gigas.

     

    Okay so after a few hours, that did that. I've got a Direwolf with 8k health, and over 1530% damage. On base he's dealing over 507 damage per bite - With buffs, with or without Y 1215-1520 damage. The one with "just" 10k health "only" has 1179% damage.

    spray painter not working

    Hello!
    I am using the spray painter from s+ and want to paint a s+ metal wall white. I have all regions enabled but nothing happens. I play on multiplayer. I also tried the vanilla one but nothing happens either. Tried both s+ and vanilla on a vanilla metal wall nothing happens. Any idea what is going on?

    Probably every week, people ask why there are two pretty large ARK subreddits with no noticeable differences in content/purpose.

    Since people post the same types of content in both subreddits, I think we should merge them.

    A lot of users crosspost, so you end up seeing duplicate content if you subscribe to both, or disjointed discussions about the same topic.

    r/ark is larger (189k members) but r/playark (117k) is the official subreddit.

    Who else thinks they should be merged? How could we get this to happen? Could the r/ark Mod team move to r/playark?

    Spawn rates, rendering issues, server issues. Just to start wanted to reduce the amount of Managarmr spawning looked up spawn entries. One location T_Ext_DinoSpawnEntriesSnow_1. Reduce does nothing. Even attempt to block Managarmr from that entry. Go over see it still spawning in blue. No way that could happen unless it was also set to spawn in another unlisted entry. Run grep search on spawners confirms only found in one entry listed above. Had to block Managarmr fully now due to over spawning. Oh also some entries are labeled TEMP yet are in use. That is not temp Wild Card! Oh and lets not forget you made a sub folder in spawn entries labeled new cause f trying to keep it organized. Sorry should I be shocked no as you still label the game exe as shootergame...

    hello i started a pvp solo servers one on the island and one on the aberration i was wondering if there is a way to disable flyers tame cuz i looked in the config of the server hosted by (survival servers) and didn't see any option for that so i was wondering if there is a way to do it in game ini

    Why do people prefer to tame higher level dinos? Am I missing something?

    Here me out, a similar game like Pokemon you will want to catch stuff at it's lowest level so it gets greater scaling on it's stats and the stats you want to level. I'm not too familiar with ARK's stat levelling but seeing as this is the usual in most games that something that isn't yours scales less, so surely it would be better to capture say, a low level argentavis so as it reaches 150 it has all it's levelled stats in the things you want and no wasted points?

    F’ing ark

    Pissed posting- both angry and drunk. Trying to xfer 2 rexes along with saddles and the blueprint from the Island to Scorched Earth. (Solo) Game freezes then crashes, deleting all items and one rex. Not to worry, I saved the files HAH reloaded with old saves- Rex and saddles still deleted.

    Awesome how ark finds new ways to fuck with me. I started playing this game clean and pure - no mods, no changes to options. First fucking was cave death - no prob - had cabin outside just for that respawn. What does Ark do? You know it- drops my stuff to the center of the earth- can't retrieve even with 'ghost' command. Fine. Added Deathkeeper mod. Finally got tired of full moon that shines NO light on an open plain- started playing with options and really looking at how the game seems set to hit you in the groin if you aren't taming at max level. Now I have to decide if I'm okay with spawning in replacements for randomly deleted tames and items to to play the game. Honestly, this is more a job than a hobby. I hope I feel better about this when I wake up.

    Babble post - a little sorry.... but really - every time I have a problem I find it's a problem known about for years and the dev answer is apparently "suck it up." So glad I bought this on sale. I feel a tiny smidge better.

    Games been frozen for 2-3 hours.

    I tried giving myself some owl pellets using the command "gfi owlpellet (amount) 0 0" but normally it only gives 100 so I just type 100, so today I thought it would be a jolly good idea to put 100000 hoping it would give me enough to never use the command again but I knew it wouldn't give that much...

    Anyway, as I pressed enter on the command the game just froze and I can't even move (this has been going on for hours!)

    Anybody have a solution lmao?

    Edit: thought I might add nothing is working. Can't even Alt F4 or anything. Everything is just frozen!
