    Questions before I start

    So I'm planning on playing ARK (I'm downloading it RN) and I have 3 questions

    1. Can I actually ride a velociraptor with lasers strapped to its head into battle and if so how soon/easy will it be? (velociraptors are my favorite dinosaur and if this is true I'd love to know)
    2. Is breeding an army of velociraptors to do my bidding possible?
    3. Any tips before I go in? I'm playing on windows 10 and downloading it from steam. (don't worry about DLC as I'm getting that as well)

    Hello,

    Remember playing this game when it was free on steam a few years back.

    Then it won't from f2p to buy, now wondering if you can play this game through Epic Games (They gave ARK:Evolved for free a few weeks back) with my friends that didn't play it back in the days on steam.

    Is it still alive or a thing?

    Since consoles don't have mods, I was wondering if ark could possibly either add a mods tab and have it to where people can access mods on console (like the Mc marketplace), or the players have the option to switch to a different game mode that does actually have mods that you can add and/or remove. This is what I want to ask the people that work on Ark. I don't have enough money to buy my own decent computer and I can't anyway. It makes me a PS4 player jealous when I see a pc player with S+, new creatures, and a level higher than 120. Since this is an official subreddit please take my suggestion into consideration. I'm sure the console players would be overjoyed with this change.

    Massive keyboard lag?

    I have great fps and ping/wifi connection. After this update my I've had massive keyboard lag in game. It's unplayable at times. Also after I close the game it screws up my typing speed for a while. The only fix is a restart (which didn't even fix it last night). Doesn't happen with other games and only happens intermittently.

    Tried closing all other windows to see if it was something lagging it out but no dice.

    Anyone else having this issue?

    Genesis 2 Wish List

    What are some of the things you guys are hoping to see with Genesis 2? Here's my wishlist:

    1. Flyer-Enabled Map: Flyers really do change the game, and Aberration and Genesis 1 do provide unique challenges with disabled flyers. However, flying is one of the most freeing and enjoyable experiences in Ark, and I would love to see Genesis 2 restore flyers but add actual challenges to find when traveling by air. Wyverns sort of serve that purpose on some maps, but we need more. Make flying feel as dangerous as traveling deep in the ocean.
    2. Seamless Map: While the teleporting system on Genesis 1 was decent and very useful, not being able to travel by land between biomes really made the map feel disjointed.
    3. More Interesting & Unique Tames: Bloodstalker was an absolutely fantastic addition in Genesis 1. The taming process, while very time-consuming, was very fun and unique. The creature itself adds amazing versatility as a mount and I use it all the time. Similar thing with the Ferox. Gave me the same vibes when I tamed my first Reaper. Please add more creatures that are this interesting!
    4. More Structure Variety: Would love to see more cosmetic structures, more defense/trap-related structures, and more tek structures in the game. Building is one of the funnest things to do in this game, give us more!
    5. More Base-Defense Dinos: Velonasaurs were a fantastic base-defense addition. While turret-mode does make many dinos useful for base defense, few things beat actual turrets in terms of space and power. I would love to see some new dinos change up this meta and give us more options.
    6. Refined Mission System: The mission system of Genesis 1 was a brilliant addition in terms of adding unique challenges and content to the game. However, while the concept was great, the execution wasn't always there. Having to build outside of mission areas was dumb. Having your dinos be completely vulnerable to other dinos and players while you're doing a mission was dumb. Having wild dinos get in your way while doing a race mission was dumb. With some tweaks though, this could still be a really great system in Gen 2. Or perhaps they already have better things in store for us, who knows.
    7. Less Non-Breedable Dinos: Breeding is a huge part of the game and few things are more disappointing than finding that an awesome creature can't be bred. It makes taming that creature feel like a dead-end. While I can understand having some genderless species of dinos, there are a plenty of non-breedable dinos that just don't make sense. Rock Drakes, Basilisk, Titanoboa, Onyc, Griffin, Wyverns, etc. You can't even really say it's to power-cap dinos because Giganatosaurus, which are the literally strongest creatures in the game in terms of damage, are breedable.

    Extinction as first Ascension?

    A friend and I recently got back into Ark. We've played a few of the maps, and decided to play Extinction this time around.

    We typically loose interest in the game well before we even consider fighting any bosses. So we've never proceeded into the tek tier items and such.

    This time around though, I began watching a few videos and realized that characters could be carried over to new maps.

    We're at a bit of a crossroad however. We've leveled our current characters close to our current max (105), so we don't want to start over.

    My question is, should we finish out extinction, (we've killed the titans, but not the King) or should we upload our characters and jump to the other maps to complete first, then come back to finish extinction in order?
