| How do people play such a buggy game online? Posted: 29 Oct 2020 04:24 AM PDT Fortunately for me, I'm not playing Ark for the challenge. I like riding dinos and building stuff. I tweak my settings to give a less stressful experience. I stick to single-player or small groups of friends. Despite all of that, I've still almost lost my mind a few times from falling off a mount; launching off the ground and falling to my death because I sprinted over a rock angled at 2°; destroying an entire house when removing one block; getting stuck in terrain; aggroing a wandering bronto while trying to gather wood; losing dinos; missing important concepts that are not explained at all; spending 30 mins trying to harvest a shrub with an almond-sized hitbox; and probably a dozen more infuriating quirks that I have managed to repress from consciousness. I cannot begin to imagine the cumulative rage of these events on an official and competitive server where you can't tweak settings or use the console to fix things that shouldn't happen in the first place. Am I having an unusually-buggy experience, or this this just what people have learned to put up with? [link] [comments]  | ||

I don't know if this is allowed, but I've been playing Ark on the Microsoft version on this crappy little laptop, and I've crashed the game just by renaming dinos so many times now I'm concerned for my poor laptop. Ark is probably the heaviest and most demanding game I've ever had, so I'm wondering if there's a PC build where I can get good frames and it won't kill my system. Also please explain things like I'm 4 lol, I've only had an Xbox prior so the PC world is new to me lol. Thanks for the help!! <3 [link] [comments]  | ||
| Baby Dino Food Use Calculation Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:19 AM PDT Anyone figure out the math for the baby food use per dino yet? Taking into account the age of the baby (starting at 0.1%) and the speed of the food drop to equal the amount of meat per x amount of seconds. The baby dinos eat less food the older they get, along with the consume multiplier. Been trying to come up with a spreadsheet for google sheets but not having much luck yet. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 29 Oct 2020 09:03 AM PDT why is it that the zombie wyverns spawn on crystal isles, but the Dodo-Wyvern can not spawn there, i thought the whole point to the zombie variant was that it would spawn with the dodo-Wyvern and after you kill the DW you could claim the zombies? any help would be appreciated. | Isn't there a map-exclusive dinosaur list? Posted: 29 Oct 2020 11:37 AM PDT I wanted to hunt the map-exclusive dinos while I'm switching servers, however I couldn't find a dino list regarding that. I know that Glowtail/Shinehorn are Aberration exlusive and Griffin is from Ragnarok. But isn't there a full list? Checked their wikis and some/most of them don't have that info or I missed it. I'd really appreciate it if someone could show me a list if it exists or write down the dinos they know. Thanks in advance and have fun! [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 29 Oct 2020 08:19 AM PDT So I think I may have gone at the wrong time, but... Is it always so hard? (XBOX OFFICIAL) I went up for the first time last night with a high levl (non imprinted) drake.. leveled mostly in HP and some weight and melee. and with two 20k/1.5k spinos with 110 saddles. When i got up there it was still dark but the ground was on fire. Was that a warning sign i missed to come back later? We were bum rushed by reapers. like fighting 6/7 at once. At 50% health I took my drake out of the fight. My spinos were only able to kill 1 reaper before they died. Then I burned up because of the daylight. Did I take the wrong tames? Does being close to dawn apparently make the Reapers stronger? I had a light pet, does that effect anything up there? If someone has an educational youtube link I would love it. I have two questions! 1) If I have a whole swarm of scorpions, will they each be able to apply one stack of their debuff, or will only the strongest torpor DoT tick? 2) Are there any risk-free pen designs that utilize scorpions as the means of knocking something out? | Posted: 28 Oct 2020 07:43 PM PDT On the survivetheark forums, Wildcard put out a message regarding the update for tomorrow that deals with transfer glitches, which says "This sweeping infrastructure upgrade intends to resolve problems relating to character loss, player timeout, latency, and failure to download or upload player data. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding as we make improvements to our networks to ensure the smoothest possible experience while playing on the Official Network." I understand that it says Official network, but will this fix apply to non-dedicated servers as well? I've had experiences with data failing to upload on a non dedi server. And if so, does anyone know when the update releases for Xbox? It specifies the PC release time but not console. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Flair box is too low when making a post which makes it a pain to assign one. Posted: 28 Oct 2020 06:32 PM PDT Just made a beginner post when I saw that trying to add flair is broken. The list comes up for picking one but when you pick it the menu goes to low, making the select button unreachable. I had to move my windows taskbar so I can press accept the flair. Also, the flair box doesn't say the names for each icon unless you leave your mouse pointer over it for a couple of seconds. Just fyi. [link] [comments]  | ||
