If you are a person who enjoys becoming truly immersed into a game, PLEASE; be cautious how much information you read/take from this subreddit / the wiki.

Optimizing is something we all like to do with video games - ARK is one where you really can put it off for a minute.

The experience of waking up in a single player world with no concept of how to survive makes the game that much more REAL.

Yes, you will die in inconvenient places and have to chase a therizinosaur away from your dead body before dying again to come back for the first body.

Yes it will be frustrating from time to time.

But if you do this, and really learn for yourself, you will cherish every single accomplishment no matter how small and truly enjoy the time/effort spent.

It's easy to accidentally spoil this by reading too far ahead - "oh I already know this isn't that valuable despite looking cool because I read it" or "oh I know not to do x,y,z or i'll get killed/chased/etc". Let the mistakes be part of the game. Let your character grow while you do. I can't stress this enough.
