    Can we talk about how bad ARK updates are?

    Ark isn't optimized. It's no secret.

    The devs may have been inexperienced when the game was conceptualized and have come far from where they were.

    I appreciate everything they have done for the game.

    But What. In. The. Hell.

    I have a 1.6GB update right now to download that right now should take around 3 hours to complete. The issue is all disk usage. My HDD is capped for active time.

    I checked the size of the download folder and it was 85GB. Why is the update being pushed out like this? Do the devs just not know better? What I believe is happening is rather than pushing out the 1.6GB of new files and an instruction set for Steam to install in an existing directory, the devs are simply pushing out a whole new game directory.

    Please stop doing this. Pay an expert to come and train the platform team how updates need to go out.

    If it wasn't for the fact that ARK is a world filled with some rather... extreme types of fauna that overshadow most things, the "small" animals could actually become quite ferocious too.
